Great location that allows many sights to be reached on foot. Worth mentioning definitely the very good and dedicated service that the guest encounters everywhere. The rooms are very well equipped - the room with balcony gives you not only a great view but also the opportunity to enjoy this outside (not in winter but certainly in summer). The bathroom is also very well equipped - the showers are not at ground level but nevertheless of sufficient size. Very nice that you said goodbye to the small plastic bottles and act sustainably here; not understandable that shampoo etc. should cost between 60 and 120 dollars if necessary; that is then a little much. Breakfast is only available a la card and that also quite “sporty” prices. The quality is impeccable, but the selection is by no means comparable to the hotels of the group in Asia - here, for a house of this category, more choice and a buffet with fresh offers are lacking. Overall a tidy house with good rooms but culinary not connectible to the houses of the group in Asia.

As big fans of the Shangri La brand, we were excited to try the Vancouver location. The design and amazing customer service from literally everyone was right on point. The rooms were pleasant, reasonably sized, and had plenty of space in the bathroom for our toiletries, which doesn't always happen, even in upscale hotels. The rates were quite good, especially given the breakfast in bed that was provided each morning, with a wide variety, and always tasty. Our car was ready quickly when called for, and the concierge was extremely helpful with suggestions and directions. The location was fantastic - we were able to walk to a large portion of what we did during our week stay.
Really only two nitpick things to improve upon:
1) While the closet was sufficiently sized, the rooms had no drawer space. We stayed for a week, so it would have been nice to have room to unpack our things. The two drawers there were already had spare bedding, which we moved around so we could get a little something unpacked. 2) The water temperature varied. Getting chilly or toasty hot water mid-shower was annoying.

Stayed at the SLV for 3 nights. The lobby and entrances are unassuming, but elegant and the service is welcoming (of note, if you order an uber, it will pick you up in the lower level lobby). The public spaces are cozy, but elegant and the room (1br suite) was large with great views. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was expansive and the tub was excellent. The toiletries were great and the ability to control the shades with a switch was a really nice touch. The service is uniformly excellent. The late night menu is wanting and we ordered a very expensive grilled cheese that came with Pringles. The manager on duty apologized to my wife about the quality of the late night menu and more than made up for it. So while the late night menu was not great, the service recovery was awesome. The furniture in the room is showing a bit of wear and tear. Location is great, close to the water and stores. Overall a very nice stay and I think worth the value.

Stayed in a king executive suite at this Shangri La for a few nights recently. It is an impressive hotel and staff are all helpful and efficient. The building is very iconic, it is in a great location in downtown, and the communal areas are modern and graceful. The hotel seems very clean and well maintained. The room itself was spacious enough and had a large marble bathroom with all amenities you could wish for plus a fresh flower on the counter which I liked.
The new Carlino restaurant and bar is hit and miss. I ordered a cocktail which was poor. The atmosphere on a weekday evening was lacking (and certainly nothing like the buzz of equivalent hotels like the Fairmont Pacific Rim which had a much younger and more fashionable crowd). Dinner at Carlino was fine but not remarkable. Breakfast which was included in the room rate was dull and too restrictive - it reminded me of an airline meal and you have little choice over the menu how it is served and how much etc.
The gym is nice and the small outdoor pool and hot tub but if there are people in there it’s a bit uncomfortable so you have to wait and hope for a quiet time. The spa changing rooms are a let down and the sauna smells bad.
It is unfortunate they removed the lobby bar and replaced it with a Rolex boutique. Because the reception is in the basement and the concierge and street entrance is one level up, there is no social heart of the hotel and it lacks some warmth. The hotel itself is great but it is not a ‘destination’ which I feels is a missed opportunity. Having said this it is the best Shangri La I have stayed in (and much exceeds Shangri La at the Shard in London). I would recommend and will return.

Our room wasn’t ready at 3 PM, but the staff more than made up for it by upgrading us and waiving the valet parking fee. The front desk manager even followed up via text to see if we needed anything else, which was a nice touch. We asked for extra towels and plates, and the service staff delivered them in under 20 minutes, super quick!
Every single staff member we interacted with was so friendly, always smiling and chatting with us. It really felt like they genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent location and very beautiful room. The staff were also very polite and kind. The layout of the hotel was a bit awkward and felt narrow and cramped. The pool was very small and pretty much amounted to a wading pool or kiddie pool. We stayed in a suite and the door separating the seating area and bedroom had great soundproofing! Our kids could sleep in the bedroom and not hear any noise from the seating area. Bathroom was large but the toilet area had a musty or mildew smell that would not go away, might need better ventilation.

Our first get away since COVID and we chose to stay at The Shangri-La Vancouver. The travel from the US was quick and we arrived to a very easy check in. The hotel felt very safe and secure, with health precautions in all public spaces. They asked that you wear masks in all public areas, and only three people to an elevator. Room service requests for mini bar or housekeeping was via a simple chat menu, easier than phoning down. We enjoyed an upgrade to a junior suite and had a very comfortable space. The only criticism was the live music during weekend breakfast. It was quite loud if you were just expecting breakfast and not boozy brunch. The food was great at both breakfast - fabulous congee- and dinner. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay and we will look at coming back.

On my 3rd Night in the one bedroom suite. Hotel exceeded even my high expectation I had of this brand. Service was impeccable from literally when I first entered the building and throughout my stay. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and provided a nice relaxing environment. Loved the extra touches such as the welcome gifts. The only con for the first 2 night was I wish my stay was longer!
Perhaps I had been spoiled at the beginning, but on the 3rd night I found the turndown service was lacking. In the first 2 nights, there would be water/candy waiting, dirty cups removed, coffee/tea/supplies replenished if needed. There were none of that on the 3rd night and only thing done were slippers placed on the side of the bed and bed folded. Had mentioned this to the employee that responded to another service request and he was very professional and was ready to rectify the situation. While I said it was ok and didnt need anything further, the willingness to help was very much appreciated.
Overall wonderful hotel. With the exception of the above, I could not find a con even if I tried! Everyone was friendly and made me feel welcomed. Shangri la will be one of my go to hotels in the future!

The service was excellent and that is what made our week long stay at the hotel a good experience. As others noted, it was confusing to find the parking entrance, but valet service was great for most of the time, and check in was fast. It was strange to have the concierge at a different level than reception. I loved the availability of boxed water from hotel staff and inside our room (we took another trip the week after and really felt the difference!). All amenities were provided, with the touch of cookies and flavoured water for our arrival, and rainbow coloured frosting on complimentary cupcakes to celebrate Pride the next day were wonderful! We ate at a restaurant for each meal, so I can’t speak to the quality of the on-site restaurant. The large marbled bathroom had everything needed, and i especially liked the privacy stall for the toilet, as well as the shower heads. I didn’t enjoy the temperature of the water as it often fluctuated at hottest setting - which was needed as hot was somewhat warm- much lower than other hotels with anti scalding mechanisms. The bed and linen were very comfortable and my hubby who is very picky with bed and pillow quality loved it and had a good night sleep every night. The sofa bed for our son was also comfortable. I could see some need for renovations, especially for the elevators, but overall, it was a good stay.

We had an exceptional experience. Shangrila Vancouver simply put.....nothing but the best!
The entire staff were very courteous and high professional. The service and attention to details provided by every staff member from housekeeping to front desk were outstanding and highly commendable.
The lobby was not grandiose but well compensated by its serenity and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, cozy with very warm earthly colors. We always have a "heavenly sleep" whenever we are at Shangrila.
We would like to give our highest commendation to the following hotel staff. 1. Mea Estanislao went above and beyond by being the best of the best. She greeted every guest with a perfect smile and made sure all their needs were met (restaurant recs, places to go, transpotation, etc). She was very amiable, courteous, highly professional, and always showed a positive attitude. She never hesitated to go out of her way to provide the hotel guests the unique Shangrila experience that separates this hotel from the rest. Mea is like a hidden gem that the hotel guest will discover once they step into the Shangrila doors. 2. Justin (front desk) was very pleasant and made sure my wife had a delightful birthday celebration during our stay. One of the highlights of our stay was having a cozy birthday night in our room with the complimentary wine and champagne out in our balcony. Simply the best! 3. Itsuki was very helpful in providing us recommendations for local Asian cuisine and very pleasant to talk to while sharing about our experinces at Shangrila Tokyo.

I am not sure about the NYE fireworks. When we visited, they has a firework competition. From our room balcony (room was facing towards Gastown on the 15th floor), we could see some of the larger ones. I am not sure what direction/location they have them.
I would suggest contacting the hotel directly to inquire.
Hope this helps you.
