The location for the hostel is GREAT- super close to food and the subway stations. There are basic cooking facilities for those who are staying for awhile (microwave and a fridge). The staff were always friendly and willing to help. Like all hostels, don't always expect a great nights sleep with your roommates walking in and out throughout the night....

So, I ve been more then once; nice little hidden place, super well located but hidden enough to be out of the main roads s mess. Nice and helpful staff. Cheap rates, privates, dormitory etc. Only bad point no kitchen, just microwave! But in 3 min walk you can find easily cheap sushi, pasta and asian spots. 3 min walking...

Good location. No kitchen. Common is reminiscent of a closet. Wake up call thanks to seagulls flocking to hot garbage. Not an atmosphere for meeting folks. Friendly staff! Decent beds. Paid $25 per night for a 4 person room.

I stayed at the hostel for three nights, with two friends. We were sharing a three-bed bedroom. The room was not the cleanest room I've ever seen, but it felt cozy and homy enough. The whole building is actually not spotless : you can see it has been used, but heee that is just the signs of time ! The...

I booked this hostel before my stay. Upon arrival I asked to see the room first. Honestly I am not picky but it was SUCH a dingy place and did not look clean. When I went to leave, the door wouldn't even lock after I tried for 5 minutes. I ended up cancelling my stay and they charged me $120...

we stayed here for 3 nights and I contracted RINGWORM from the bed sheets !!! The noise from the street was terrible all night and lots of homeless people hanging around. Laundry room had 2 washing machines and 1 dryer and 1 was always for 'staff use only'. Unhelpful staff. Better off staying at the Samesun.

Super location, friendly personal, very exerted. In the beginning of my stay I had a bit trouble but they made efforts and I was compensated and had a very pleasant stay for 12 days. Beds are a bit wiggling but stable and have good mattresses. The weak point are the showers. They always seemed to be a bit slimy and...

The hostel offered a late checkin which was really good as we arrived in the middle of the night. The staff is really friendly and helpful. During our stay the bathrooms were mostly pretty tidy. The rooms are really tiny. Also there is no kitchen in the hostel. I would recommend staying in this hostel not longer then three days.

SERVICE Firstly I have to commend the brilliant service I received. My first night I flew in to Vancouver at 12pm, upon booking with them and stating that I would be getting in late I received an email detailing instructions on how to get in after reception close (9pm). I was a little hesitant, but I got in the door...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
