The Hilton Vancouver Downtown receives acclaim for its prime location, praised by guests for its walkability and easy access to transit, though some have noted street noise. While the service is consistently lauded for being top-notch, opinions on the rooms vary, with some finding them spacious and well-appointed, and others feeling they are dated.
Cleanliness is a strong point, with meticulous attention to daily room servicing. However, the breakfast offerings, especially for Honors members, are seen as lacking in variety and not providing great value.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at the Hilton Vancouver Downtown, with arrival on Friday, June 23rd for 3 nights with departure on Monday, June 26th. (In fact, we are still here for our last night as I write this).
Of course, I fell in love with this whole city; however, I also loved this hotel. A great central location within the city, you are close to Yaletown, Gastown, the stadiums and casinos and then just a little bit farther to Waterfront, Aquatic Center (ferry to Granville) and more. This entire city is very walkable to those who have easily mobility access by foot. Plenty of restaurants nearby the hotel.
Everyone at this property has been super. We stayed in Room 2100, which overlooked the Stadium and Skyline. The room itself is in great condition and has a separate living room apart form the king bedroom and large bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower.
As Diamond members, you get a nice continental breakfast in the restaurant each morning. The breakfast includes all items, except for the 6 hot items, which you can pay for and upgrade to; however, we found the included continental to be very sufficient.
The person who checked us in was Jian, and he was super nice, also checking in with us during our stay. Kudos to him and the entire staff and team.
Look forward to eventually returning in the future!

This hotel has a great location on Robson St. easy to walk to many places Vancouver has to offer. Yeletown is about 10 minutes away so is Cole Harbour The waterfront is close by and easily reachable so are Denman st, English Bay and Stanley park.
Many restaurants and cafés in the area, two supermarkets , IGA and H-Mart.
The hotel has 1 bedroom suites with amazing design . The living and bedrooms are spacious with amazing view of the city. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom so one can close the door. It’s a very smart design and affords privacy for traveling companion with different schedules.
The room has a mini fridge, a microwave, kettle and a coffee maker. Very quiet rooms . We didn’t hear our neighbors . We didn't hear the noise from the busy street either (on the 25th floor). It seems the windows have very good sound insulation.
The service in this hotel is outstanding! We stayed there for 8 nights and never heard a No ! Every thing we asked for was happily accommodated. The front desk was always very helpful and accommodating so was housekeeping and especially the bellmen who were always eager to help and eager to greet guests coming and going. The restaurant had great service. The servers were lovely and engaging.
This hotel delivers on all fronts, what a great addition for a Hilton property in the center of Vancouver.
We will happily go back to this hotel when we are in Vancouver.
Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

Good location in the centre of Vancouver, ideal for both shops, restaurants and also walking to attractions. About a 10 minute easy walk from the train station that takes you to/from airport and close to the assorted bars and restaurants in the Hamilton street area. Numerous quick food options adjacent to the hotel.
Not the most impressive of entrances as a tall building with reception on ground floor and check in on first. What it lacks in presence it makes up for with excellent staff, from check in to restaurant all genuinely pleasant people who seem to enjoy working here and who gave excellent service.
Until recently this was a Westin and has recently changed brands to Hilton, perhaps a Westin hangover but the narrow corridors and limited public space are not reflected in the rooms. I stayed in a king balcony suite which was very spacious. The room was in good condition and was quiet, given of course this is the city centre so some street noise inevitable.
Restaurant/bar is on the small size and could really do with more space, but the food and service was very good. It was nice to not just have the usual hotel offer of burgers etc on the menu. Again excellent staff. Breakfast buffet ok, but could do with greater choice.
Would stay here again if in Vancouver.

Good location, in the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. Decor is up to date, room perfectly fine If a little small- bed comfortable. Pool facilities good with excellent views and added something extra to the stay.
One complaint I do have is bottled water isn’t provided as standard in the rooms, you have to ring down to reception and ask for them which is very odd and kind of annoying when you wake up and don’t want to drink the tap water. Also, I rang reception to ask for water on one occasion and they never came so I had to go to the desk on my way out.
Another thing is they’re still not doing room cleaning service unless asked which I find quite odd as most places I’ve been to have resumed their usual daily service now (didn’t particularly bother me - but paying £200+ a night you would think that came as standard)
Generally did like this hotel but probably would go somewhere less expensive if travelling solo again.

Dear Lsrg33, We are very sorry to hear your room had no water when you checked in. All our room are equipped with 2 bottles upon arrival in the room. It is standard. You can also grab bottles any time you pass front desk or bell desk during the day. I am also sorry to hear the water never came even after you ordered it. Resuming full cleaning service is not possible at the moment due to severe staff shortages that we are dealing with. It is also a Hilton standard in North America. Your room rate is a reflection of excessive pent up demand at the moment and when demand subsides so will the room rates. We hope to see you again. Sincerely, Pradeep Puri

This is my second time staying at Hilton Downtown Vancouver and they never disappoint! I always come back for their great staff and amazing service.
Checked in on Dec 24, check-in was seamless and they even had sparkling wine in our room with a personalized greeting card. My room had an amazing view!
Had Christmas Eve dinner at their restaurant Hendricks and their staff were so accommodating too. Special thanks to Marion and Pascal from Hendricks and Leah, Daisy and Jeanette from the front desk team! Thank you as well, David!

Stayed for a night at end of BC trip. The hotel is in a great location, we used taxi to and from airport as dropped rental car off there rather than driving in city.
We had a top floor room with separated bedroom and sitting area. The room was well furnished and clean.
We found the hotel porters welcoming, helpful and friendly.
The local area has lots of places to eat within walking distance which we sampled so didn't eat in hotel.
The only drawback was the limited number of lifts for guests which often caused a wait to access room.

Dear susan m, Thank you very much for your comments. You are correct about the elevators(lifts). We wish we had one more specially in the summer. 9 months of the year they are able to handle the traffic. Our porters are among the best in the city and we get great comments about them. We are glad you enjoyed our location and the guest room also. We hope rest of your jouney home was as pleasant as your stay. We hope to see you again. Sincerely, Pradeep Puri

We stayed in room 705 over the US Labor Day weekend (Sept). Maybe because we had higher expectations of a Hilton, we were somewhat disappointed. While the location was spectacular, right smack in the middle of downtown Vancouver with Robson street couple blocks away and plenty of dining options within a stone's throw, the hotel was older and our room was smaller than we expected (and the pictures). The safe in the room also didn't work, something I would expect to have been checked in between stays. The elevators were also so slow that being on a lower floor, we regularly waited 10+ minutes for one with enuf space and ended up going down the stairs on many occassions when we got tired of waiting.
The staff though was amazing, especially the bell hops. They have only a few spaces for oversized cars outside (and more expensive for parking) which had no availability when we were there. I had a cargo box but the bell hops helped me take off, store, and install back on when we checked out. The pool was nice but we didn't use since it was on the colder side and gym facilities also quite nice.

Dear flyboyarl, Thank you very much for your comments. We apologize that the safe in your did not work. We hope it was fixed quickly upon request. We are surprised to learn you felt our rooms were small. Mostly our guests appreciate the 2 rooms that they get for the price of one. Functioning of elevators is solely dependent on how busy we are. And we have been busy. We are glad you enjoyed the service provided by the staff. We hope to see you, should you decide to come back to Vancouver. Sincerely, Pradeep Puri

As a Hilton branded hotel charging premium rates this hotel should be better. When we checked in for 3 nights we were informed that for our safety the rooms would not be serviced unless we requested it 24 hours in advance. So we did, not that it made any difference, the room was serviced the first day, but not the next. This seems like the hotel is using covid as a way to cut its staff. As this is meant to be a premium hotel, this should be offered as an option, but full service should not be by exception. The breakfast buffet is sub standard with very few options, espresso coffee is from a machine and costs extra. As discussed by many reviewers the lifts are dreadfully slow, to the point where the hotel opened up the service lift for guests to use. Location is great, rooms are fine but the hotel needs to lift its game.

I've stayed at this hotel at least a half dozen times after staying at many Vancouver hotels looking for the "perfect" one. I travel to Vancouver for business for over 15 years and the Westin Grand is always my first choice. The rooms are all one bedroom and have ample space and great amenities to get work done and/or relax. The location is also great as you are steps from the library, BC Place, GM Place, YaleTown, and you are right on Robson Street. The self-park option is also convenient so you can come and go as you please or utilize one of the public transportation options that are close to your doorstep.

The room was nice and clean and well maintained. The suite set up is a spacious room. My only complaint about the room was a couple of the plugins in the room did not work. We were there during the Covid procedures so unfortunately the food and beverage was not open. The pool was available to use but you could only have a hour and six people only at once which was frustrating to have a book a time slot for the two of us to get in. I definitely understand physical distancing and participate in it, but I think there would be room for more people to still space themselves out around the pool, and if needed limit the number inside the water. But overall I understand the rules of the world right now and know they need rules. I will be back again as the location was good and hotel felt clean to be in even during this time.
