Incredible service. Some of THE best I’ve ever experienced in comparison to other 5* hotels I’ve stayed in around the world and in Vancouver.
Valet: personable, friendly, relaxed. Compared to the fairmont pacific rim, these guys are just better and more on it I felt.
Lobby/front desk: They were also so welcoming and personable. I was able to check in and out with Ryan who had some of the best customer service skills I’ve encountered. Some employees at other hotels around Vancouver are a bit snobbish and pretentious, especially if you don’t appear to have money. Checking in I looked like I rolled out of a garbage can and Ryan treated me as if I was a VIP regardless.
Room: The rooms are older than the more modern rooms at the fairmont pac rim/ hotel Georgia. With that being said, the corner tub in the deluxe rooms while not as aesthetically pleasing was wayyy better and more comfortable/relaxing/deeper AND you could see the tv from it. The rooms were also spotlessly clean and just felt rich, warm, and cozy.
Spa Massage: Best RMT massage with Stephanie. She was so wonderful and the massage room was so relaxing with warmed tables and peppermint/lavender essential oils. Compared to massages at the pac rim this one was better.
Spa Amenities: Here is where things could be a bit better. The relaxation room is small and there is 1 steam room, 1 bathroom, and 1 shower to share amongst all guests getting treatments. With that being said there was only ever 3-4 people including myself in the area at a time so I was able to use everything without issue or waiting. The pac rim wins in this category.
Housekeeping: another exceptional experience. During turndown they were so kind and offered to give me extra soaps/towels/ and the cutest little bags of cookies. I’ve never actually experienced this and feel like it’s a burden usually to ask for extra towels.
Room Service: Great menu and quick service.

If you’re trying to decide between Vancouver hotels I’d say the best way to describe would be the Fairmont Pacific Rim is new money and the Wedgewood is old money. I will 100% stay here again. I also would choose this hotel over the pac rim, Sutton place, & Hotel Georgia. The Wedgewood is my new favourite Vancouver Hotel and will be hard to beat.

Dear Jills1998, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and the Trip Advisor community. Reading such a positive review was like receiving a warm embrace on a chilly Vancouver evening. Your kind words not only brightened our day but also reaffirmed our dedication to providing unparalleled hospitality. From the moment you arrived, it seems our team, led by our charming and charismatic Ryan, made you feel at home and treated you not as a guest, but as a cherished friend. We are incredibly fortunate to have Ryan as our hotel ambassador. His genuine kindness and generosity make him an invaluable asset to our team. His passion shines through every interaction and we are so grateful for the positive impact he made during your visit with us. As you compared us to the "giants' of Vancouver hospitality, we could not help but feel a sense of pride. True luxury is not merely defined by the glimmer of newness, but in our case, by the timeless elegance and warmth of our beautiful property. Your feedback about Stephanie and our spa is very much appreciated. We are delighted to read that Stephanie's expertise left you feeling rejuvenated and invigored. We are constantly striving to enhance our guest experience and your insights will help guide our efforts in that regard. To be recognized as your new favorite Vancouver Hotel is an honor. It inspires us to continually innovate, push boundaries, and set new standards of excellence. We can not wait to welcome you back for another exceptional stay at the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa. Kind regards, Jean-Michel

We spent 6 nights at the Wedgewood recently as a quasi "stay-cation". The hotel is well prepared for current circumstances, with a very high level of cleanliness, mask use by staff and other thoughtful but unobtrusive protective measures. The hotel was quiet but not empty, and a very enjoyable and relaxing stay ensued. A high quality breakfast was available in our spacious room with balcony, and the ever-pleasant Bacchus Lounge was available for drinks or dinner most evenings. The location is very central for all downtown Vancouver attractions and amenities, yet also quiet, situated across from the well landscaped Law Courts. We will return as soon as possible!

We stayed at the Wedgwood Hotel on Jul 10 2020, for 1 night . During the covid era you will receive some emails where you can request certain amenities in your room, and you can check in the day before upload your credit card information and all you need to do when you arrive is show your ID for a quick contactless check in.

The doorman Kirby was fantastic extremely friendly and well informed, made it clear on the covid cleaning for the valet and each time we would step out or in the hotel always had a fantastic greeting and shared a story or two, Kirby is a asset to the hotel and makes you feel special in your stay.

In our room they provided two masks that were airtight sealed and hand sanitizer, the room was extremely clean and well taken care of, when we order room service for breakfast it was within 20 min and contactless they bring the trolley with your food straight to your door and they step back and allow you to grab your food.

One of the biggest pros of the covid era hotel stay was the communication threw text, when we got into our room we received a text from the concierge to welcome us and that we could use the chat for any questions or concerns we also made our dinner reservation via text message, this limits the interaction and congestion in the front.

Overall we had a fantastic stay, the hotel is well maintained, every employee interaction was always positive, they have really gone the extra mile to make your stay a special one and a safe one.

My fiance and I stayed here for our last night in Canada before heading home to Australia. We felt so special, very well looked after and very VIP throughout our stay at the Wedgewood. We were upgraded upon check in, had Christmas cake delivered complimentary, chocolate coated strawberries, a box of chocolate and an incredible room with a breath taking view. My fiance and I couldn't be happier. The location of was perfect, right near delicious restaurants of all ratings, within the shopping district and the staff were always more than happy to help with anything we needed. We were very impressed and would stay here again in a heartbeat! We wouldn't look into staying anywhere else!

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago for a total of 5 nights. We booked into an Executive King room with a view of Robson Square and jacuzzi in the room. The room was excellent, very comfortable and clean, with nice touches such as chocolates on arrival and nice L’Occitane toiletries in the bathroom. The staff were excellent, too; from reception/concierge, spa staff and those at the restaurant, they were very friendly and attentive. There were many precautions in place due to Covid, i.e. socially distanced tables, plexiglass at reception, our room was not cleaned, entered etc unless we requested something specifically, i.e. toiletries. All in all, we felt very welcome and safe here. The hotel is in an excellent location, with plenty of shopping, restaurants and breakfast cafes nearby. We tried their restaurant one time, and were very impressed with the food and pleasant service. We also tried their spa services twice during our stay; once for a couples massage (it was excellent!) and again for facials. Really good experience all in all, seemed like an oasis during the pandemic madness. We stayed in other similar hotels in the area in the past, and Wedgewood seemed to be the most personable and most cozy in comparison. Great stay, really lovely hotel with great services. Highly recommended.

A perfect hotel for a romantic getaway. We stayed for 2 nights, checked in early after a busy holiday season and not only was our room ready but we were offered an upgrade without even asking! The doorman and front desk staff made us feel welcome and valued. They were most friendly, professional and courteous. Our room was spacious (with a wonderful tub for 2!), clean and had a lovely balcony and view of downtown. Evening drinks and breakfast at Bacchus were excellent, with an outstanding table by the fireplace. Our waitress even remembered our drink order from the night before. As well, by the second day, the doorman knew our name (we had to be on our best behavior then) and always inquired about our day and provided useful recommendations. Do not miss the complimentary steam shower at the spa, I hear there's a gym too... but did I mention this was a romantic getaway?! Didn't step foot in there!
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Wedgewood again on our next visit to Vancouver. It was delightful.

I've traveled internationally for 45 years and like to stay in boutique hotels when possible. This is my first time to the Wedgewood and will not be returning. I booked a Deluxe King Suite for 3 nights and like the rest of the hotel the room was old, tired and had a fusty aroma. I noticed other guests had review/complaints about the condition of furniture, fixtures and fittings that were either dismissed or classified as "elegant" by the owner/management. See the attached photo's for yourself. Reception, bar and restaurant staff were very professional, helpful and obliging but housekeeping just seemed to be on a different planet. Here the pros & cons:

Pro’s:
GREAT restaurant (Bacchus), food is very very good, wait staff professional and knowledgeable.
Good location, slap bang in downtown
Very friendly and helpful staff

Con’s
Room very noisy – trying to sleep with the evening commotion outside is not easy. Needs new insulating windows and patio doors
Room has a fusty odor
Shower had black mold in several places
Bathmat seen much better days, even the daily replacements were frayed and worn
Bar area furniture NOT in good condition
Bar/breakfast area floor & carpet had crumbs, stains & threadbare in many places
Crazy expensive for what is no more than an old 3 star hotel.

Dear diodeny, Thank you for choosing the Wedgewood Hotel and Spa and for taking the time to address your concerns regarding your stay. Please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointment you experienced with our guest rooms. We understand your frustrations. We are planning an update in our room furnishings soon! We had originally been working towards a complete hotel renovation in 2020, but unfortunately our plan was derailed with got Covid, as hotels faced challenging circumstances. That being said, there are small things we can do to maintain the existing rooms, and we are disappointed to learn that this was not the case in your experience. I apologize profusely about these lapses in service and quality- this is not the standard to which we aspire, nor which our guests have the right to expect. Please know that we are looking into the details of your complaint to ensure a situation like tis does not occur again. Needed a change but still wanted to feel safe, and we did throughout the our stay, starting with the great Kirby on the front door. All staff ensured we had everything we needed, and had their CoViD processes buttoned up tight. Their touchless check-in starts before you arrive and allows you to text the front desk 24/7. We had real time access to Jeremy, Anabell and David which was great even when not in the hotel. The hotel was very clean and provided lots of hand sanitizer, staff wore masks and gloves, and the fitness center was available for booking one person at a time which made me feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a first class Vancouver experience.

We just got back from an amazing 4 night stay at the Wedgewood Hotel. From valet service to front desk staff and room service plus the house cleaning staff everyone made us feel like we were part of their family. There was nothing that they couldn’t do to make our stay special and memorable. That has always been the signature of the Wedgewood!!!
What people want to know nowadays is-/
DID YOU FEEL SAFE???? Being in the medical field for 40 years I can honestly say that we never once felt that the staff had nothing but our interest and theirs—front and centre at all times. The Wedgewood followed all protocols and went above the guidelines regarding sterilization and distancing guidelines.
A Big Thanks To All.
See you in December.

Stayed here for a total of 10 nights (7 nights then 3 nights). Originally supposed to be 2 blocks of 3 nights with a week away elsewhere. The week away got cancelled so we were left trying to get a continuance of stay same day. Anastasia on Reception did a great job of finding us a room (suite) and arranged room & luggage changeover, whilst we had a day out.
The location is great, on a one way street, which made the traffic barely noticeable.
It was ideal for walking in all directions and we had breakfast at Frouborg about 80m away (We only wanted a coffee and pastry).
The hotel itself is classic style (1930s?) with a very stylish bar/ restaurant downstairs.
We ate the bar menu a few nights (Sharing meat + cheese platter is huge) and enjoyed the pianist (singing) while just chilling.
Rooms are large with plenty space even in the standard rooms and are well insulated from any noise.
A real bonus is the efficient but silent aircon which means you can sleep with it on and not hear it (Unlike a Hilton we stayed in during the trip, which rattled very noisily).
All in all, a great hotel and the almost full occupancy speaks for itself.
