We were surprised with an upgrade to a suite, which was very roomy, luxurious, and quiet. The staff was alway extremely welcoming, attentive, and prompt. It was almost like they’re reading your mind. Valet service was very fast, either leaving or picking up your car. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel's Favourite
This place is filled with antique furnishings, dark wood panelling and Persian rugs. Our spacious room included lots of storage with both a closet and a dresser. While guest rooms can overlook the city, the mountains, or the Robson Square Gardens… unfortunately, we got one of the "Alley View" suites. It is nice to have a balcony to sit on, even if the view was not great. However, the sound of bottles being dumped at 2 am was unpleasant. The early morning seagull cries brought to mind roosters on a farm. Facilities include a spa and a surprisingly well-equipped fitness center. I took advantage of the Spa and was amazed by the strength in Annie’s small hands while receiving the coffee scrub. There is an attached restaurant, Bacchus, with a piano lounge, featuring Murano stained glass and a carved limestone fireplace. The location is absolutely central, across from Robson Square, in the heart of downtown. Walk straight down the street to the waterfront, with shopping options along the way. Or up the street two blocks to The Cinematheque and catch a film. (We lucked into a film noir festival!) The Wedgewood elevator key card system is a horrible joke, the card demagnetizes if you think about walking by a cellphone, ours were replaced four times during our short stay. The staff always seemed eager to help, especially Kirby who was always quick with a smile and a local recommendation. The top hat and tails are a nice touch. Always read your bills, room service pricing includes a surcharge AND an automatic gratuity.

Room Tip: For "City View" suites ask for a higher floor, the sound of bottles being dumped at 2AM is annoying.

Response from Wedgwood Guest Relations, Owner at Wedgewood Hotel & Spa
Responded 4 days ago
Dear E2096QFrobertm, Thank you for choosing the Wedgewood Hotel and Spa, and for taking the time to write this incredibly thoughtful review! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, and that the spa, overall décor, and location were particularly notable. It is also wonderful to hear that our staff's dedication to service was a standout; as a third generation family-owned and operated boutique property, we aim to ensure that our passion for hospitality is communicated to those who stay or dine with us! Please accept our sincere apologies regarding the room key inconvenience- we are updating our key-card system this winter so it should not be an issue for your next visit! Please rest assured that your positive feedback will be shared with our staff members. Comments such as yours are truly appreciated by all of us, as that is what motivates us to continue to strive towards high standards! We look forward to welcoming you to back to the Wedgewood again! Warm regards, Eleni J Guest Relations

The concierge was so helpful helping arrange transportation - even looked us up on Saturday to see how everything worked out. The valet parking, servers in the restaurant and entire staff made our stay most enjoyable. I would certainly stay there again.

Recommended hotel on Hornby Street opposite Robson Square very well located for downtown. It has a European feel to it and being smaller than many downtown hotels is a lot ore personal. Rooms are a decent size with very comfortable beds. Good bathrooms and lot of towels and hot water. Plenty of storage. Nice restaurant. We only had breakfast but lovely staff and good food. Bell staff very helpful. Location means everything feels within easy reach whatever the direction.

The Wedgewood is where I stay regularly when I am in town for business. It is walking distance to many restaurant options. They have a great Lounge and restaurant onsite as well. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. Not sure if all rooms have it, but they have a nice tub in the room. My only suggestion is to have a desk chair in order to adjust the height while working at the desk. The all around staff within the Wedgewoid really does an excellent job. They are all very friendly and attentive. Also there are still some staff that has been working there for years. So nice to see familiar faces which says a lot for their company and management. I never get the chance to enjoy the spa, but it is nice to have one onsite if you would like to enjoy it. Highly recommend staying here.

The level of service is phenomenal, the rooms exquisite. From the minute we arrived, we enjoyed every moment in the hotel. A special shout out to Yuri at the front desk and Yuki (?) in the restaurant at breakfast each morning. I wish I caught all the names of the folks who work there - so perfect. I loved the cookies and water dropped off each evening.

We were greeted as soon as we arrived at the hotel by the bellman/ doorman and front desk. As our room was ready, we were able to go there away. Our suite was beautiful and very clean. In fact during our stay, people seemed to be cleaning and polishing all the time and it showed! Melvin, the hotel’s concierge, was beyond helpful in getting restaurant reservations, a day car rental and tickets for all of our sightseeing adventures. He was so knowledgeable and very friendly as well. All of the front desk staff and bellman always addressed us coming and going. We can say the same thing about the cleaning staff as well! Spending a week at the Wedgewood was wonderful and relaxing!!

We stayed here last year and it was so good we returned again to a great welcome. Its a relatively small Boutique Hotel well position in downtown Vancouver. The atmosphere is warming and welcoming. The rooms are spotless and the bar and restaurant fabulous. But what makes the hotel so great is simply the people. The front staff will make your stay memorable. They are helpful and knowledgeable. Huge thanks to you all for making our return trip so great. See you again next year.

The staff is wonderful and the restaurant is a lovely experience. Rooms are large and comfortable and the bed was great. It was nice to have fresh cookies by the bed at night. The hotel is cozy but could use an upgrade. Rooms look a bit dated and the shower isn’t 5 star.
