Visiting my daughter in Vancouver I looked for a nearby B&B and was very impressed with Point Grey Guest House. The hosts Georgia and Hugh made me feel very welcome. Due to COVID I could not enjoy their breakfast. My room was spotless clean and they gave me valuable tips of local places to eat. The bed was very comfortable.
I was attending a conference at UBC. There are no hotels nearby and I found a gem in the Point Grey Guest House. The Albion room was spacious and the bed was one of the most comfy ones I’ve slept in. The breakfast was great on my first morning and sadly I had an early start the second morning, but they had a breakfast to go in the fridge for me! There are great restaurants in walking distance so no need to always drive. If ever I have the need to stay in the area again I will definitely book another stay.
A wonderful restaurant for a casual meal or meet for a drink. The open concept creates a happy social atmosphere. Service is prompt and friendly. When we were there for lunch on a Thursday the restaurant was quiet and relaxing. The food is tasty and imaginative. Brunch items are also available. I had the Tuna poke bowl. The fish was fresh and the dressing was very delicious. Free street parking is available if the little lot is full. The whole experience was a good one!
I live in Vancouver and am all too familiar with how expensive accommodations can be. Like most people here, we don't have guest space and are always on the look for great places for our guests to stay. My parents recently visited and we found Point Grey Guest House.. The prices are fantastic. The home is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The hosts are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location is super! You will find everything you need here and at a value you won't find anywhere else in the city.
I stayed here 6 nights. The couple running the BnB are very good at it, with high attention to cleanliness, great breakfast, engaging without becoming intrusive. This BnB is located near the prettier part of Vancouver, campus and less crowded beaches. It is in a very safe upscale neighbourhood away from most traffic congestion but on a route that is very simple to get to from out of town or downtown. The house is gorgeous inside and out. My room was large, spotless, well attended and private. My privacy was never challenged. Their "signature breakfast" held me through lunch most days. As far as detractors go, they are minor and perhaps personal: incense gives me a headache but seemed to permeate the place. Initial communication with the managers was not spot on but never recurred. It is a bit pricey for a BnB however you are getting a lot for your dollar and it is considerably less than equivalent hotels nearby! Recommended without doubt.…
We stayed 6 nights at PGGH. The other reviews do a good job of describing this home. The day-to-day manager, Hope, was most helpful in helping us navigate the Vancouver area, and guiding us to nearby Point Grey restaurants like Burgoo. We looked forward to relaxed breakfasts with some of the other guests, prepared by Hope. Our room and bath were always clean and well cared for. Buses to the University and downtown Vancouver stop right out front. Thank you Hope for a lovely stay.
My wife and I recently stayed eight nights at this charming home on a well-traveled street. The local bus stops literally right in front of the house (and cater-cornered across the street going in the other direction), making it easy to get around Vancouver by mass transit. We also had a car, and parking on the side street was fine. We met the owners briefly, but the place was being run by Hope, who greeted us, answered our questions, prepared breakfast each day (as well as a nifty brown bag meal to take to the airport on our final day), and cleaned the room. The home is pleasant for sitting downstairs, listening to jazz music, reading, and generally enjoying the neighborhood. We were pleased with our room, and the only downside might be the somewhat small shower and the showerhead that does not produce a spray of water. But those are tiny matters. This is a great place to stay in Vancouver if you are looking to avoid the downtown area but still want easy access to that and other regions.…
We have always stayed in hotels in Vancouver. This was our first B&B stay. We will definitely be back. Great value compared to a hotel. Lovely big room with a comfortable bed. Incredible breakfast with organic eggs, homemade breakfast loaf, huge fruit salad, cereal, etc. etc. Just enough attention to feel like you are being looked after but not intrusive.
This character B&B is very charming and unique with its antique decorations and furniture. There really isn't anything quite like it! I absolutely loved the vibes the house gave especially the lavender scent infused into the house made me feel so cozy and welcomed. Our hostess was caring to all of our needs and is a truly wonderful person. Our room was very clean and everything we needed was provided. Everything was so professional and carefully sought out for that I truly felt like I was staying in a hotel! Love, love, loved my stay and would highly recommend!
We stayed with Georgia and Hugh for 3 days and greatly enjoyed their company. They have 3 rooms upstairs and we stayed in one with an ensuite. There's a room with an unattached but private bathroom in the middle. (The good thing about that room is that it doesn't face the busy street.) Our room was spacious with a large walk in closet for suitcases. The decor is typical Victorian with tastefully coordinated colors throughout the room. Great ventilation and large windows. The windows are not double paned and, as the B&B on a major thoroughfare, it gets loud as soon as the traffic gets going. That said, you're in a fairly green neighborhood. Parking is available on the side street. I liked that you have filtered water available in your room. They have a nice breakfast: fresh fruit, eggs or sausage type meat, pastry and toast. She likes to know when you have your breakfast and if you like tea or coffee. Hugh is a lot fun and Georgia is an elegant beautiful and sweet lady. They had a lot of useful advice as to where to go and what to do in town. We loved the place and would love to stay there again!…
