Very clean and well maintained. Seems recently refurbed with a fresh new look. Nice front desk staff. Hotel in a good location for getting to all the main tourist parts of Vancouver on foot (15 minute stroll to most places like Stanley park, the harbour, the west end or English bay. Places like Granville island need a taxi trip either by Uber or by boat. Only negative is the background noise that comes from the streets and the elevators if you have a room that is facing the city’s English bay.
Whilst rooms and location were good here, we were shocked at the total lack of any facilities and it felt much more like a motel rather than a hotel. No restaurant and no bar, no way of getting any food or drink unless you went out! Very inexperienced reception team felt quite amateur. They say lots of places nearby but we didn’t find many, we checked out early and went to a proper hotel with all facilities available.
Decent, individual hotel with a bit of personality, in a good location on the main shopping street in downtown Vancouver. Can walk to most of the sights within 20 minutes. We got a good deal by booking some months in advance for a 4 night stay at 200 CAD per night room, which was cheaper than many other similar hotels. However, housekeeping is on request only, which is I guess, how they keep their price down. Our entry level room was spacious and modern with two king size beds and a small balcony (too small for any seating). The bathroom in comparison was compact - don't understand why they didn't make it larger when the room itself was so big. Nevertheless it was well kitted out and the shower (over bath) was sufficiently powerful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was equipped with a kettle, coffee machine and fridge. We were on the 12th floor and the room was reasonably quiet. The only thing that let it down was the air conditioning which was both rubbish for cooling the room and very noisy. The hotel benefits from underground parking (which we didn't use so not sure how much it costs), an indoor pool and small gym. There is also an on site cafe which is currently open for breakfast only. …
Conveniently located, comfortable well equipped well sized room with coffee making facilities. There is a useful swimming pool. staff were friendly and helpful. Access to the carpark is a little difficult with cases. There was little in the way of tourist information.
Lovely hotel but appalling customer service. Our flight was delayed 6 hours so we emailed to let hotel know we would be arriving after 1:00. Despite this, our room was cancelled at 01:00 ‘by the system’. At 02:00, very tired from our flight, we had to wait 45 mins while our booking was manually reinstates. We were then told the hotel was fully booked so they could only book us in for a single night (we had 4 booked). We then had to visit reception each morning for the next 2 days to check that we could stay another night. At one point we were called to say we could not stay for the final night as they were fully booked. Thus was then changed to say we could, in fact, stay that night as well. When we checked out our bill was significantly higher than expected as we had been charged for 2 rooms! The lack of customer service spoiled the whole experience for us and there was not a single word of apology - we were made to feel that this was all our fault as we arrived after 1:00 in the morning. Apparently the computer is in control and they are unable to override it!!…
Blue Horizon n has spacious, updated and impeccably clean rooms with convenient parking ($20/day). Staff are remarkably professional, cordial and helpful. Plenty of nearby shopping and restaurants. We will most certainly stay here again when visiting Vancouver. Highly recommended.
We were on the 27th floor, with a balcony, huge windows and a fabulous view of English Bay - we even saw a rainbow our first morning. We saw our cruise ship arrive. The staff were friendly and profesisonal. The room was spotless. We walked left out of the front door to Earl's Kitchen for a late supper (it was great!). We got a cab from the airport which took about 40 minutes. We walked right out of the front door and found Cora's for breakfast. All in all, Robson Street was the place to be. Stopped at London drugs for some shampoo and other bits and pieces. Enjoyed coming "home" to the Blue Horizon for our 2 nights. Stay here!
Great and updated hotel! It's worth paying extra for the deluxe water view room. Only complaint is our walk-in shower was a white prefab shower and not tile like our friend's room had. It was very slippery! My foot slipped a couple of times and hit a metal piece on the door. I would not put my elderly parents in this room because of that shower. Otherwise, great room and hotel.
Wonderful hotel with great central location and awesome design ! Because of the hotel's architecture, every room has expansive windows with excellent views of the city and mountains. The rooms are very open and well decorated. Bathrooms are efficient and have modern amenities. A warm and efficient welcome upon check in and on site parking if you come with a vehicle. Walking or biking distance to great shopping, restaurants and sites like Stanley Park Just a gem of a property in the heart of Vancouver ! I am a tough critic so please take my word for it - The Blue Horizon is wonderful !
Updated, clean and comfortable beds... easy in and easy out, very good customer service. Our room was on the 14th floor facing east ... bright mornings but the view south was really nice at night. We will visit this hotel in the future.
