Much more enjoyable than any chain hotel I've stayed at. I loved that the rooms had good quality full soap and shampoo dispensers rather than small bars and bottles-it made it feel like home and we weren't worried about running out for our longer stay. Lots of storage for clothes and belongings. Location is perfect. It feels safe and is great for those who don't plan on driving. We walked for every meal, lots of options, even just across the street. Loved the chrome cast option on the TV. Also loved the water bottle refill in the lobby. By photos online, I was slightly concerned that the rooms would be older and less clean, but they felt very comfortable and clean, they just decided to give their rooms more personality than what a chain would do which I appreciate. Felt like one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at, if not the cleanest. Check in and check out was a breeze. Big fitness area and decent lap pool that didn't feel cramped when others were present. Awesome option for those who might not have tons to spend on a hotel. Only downside is that bathroom is a bit small. Still completely functional, but I could see it being a bit difficult to use for parties for 3+ that all need to get ready in there. Overall I was extremely pleased with the hotel and was sad to leave! I'd love to stay here again and I'm sure I will.

The rooms are so spacious and comfortable, it is difficult to fault this hotel. The location is fantastic - not too far from anywhere ( 20 mins walk to Stanley Park or English Bay or Gastown) and of the highest standards of housekeeping. Loved the views and the comfortable beds. We greatly appreciated the availability of our room when we arrived early in the morning (9am) after an all-night flight. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk very well trained. The hotel probably deserves 5 stars but it doesn't provide breakfast (though there are plenty of nearby options), the foyer gets a bit busy due to its restricted size and it's a bit pricey. Still, I'd highly recommend the Blue Horizon. I love it.

This hotel was easy to get to from public transportation. Check in was easy and quick. My room was on the 21st (of 30) floor and I had a great view of the city. The bed was comfortable. I loved that there was liquid soap at the bathroom sink, and shampoo and body wash in large bottles in the shower. The shower water was very hot. The only thing that I didn't love was that the elevators took a while to get up and down, but there were three of them, so I never waited more than 5 mins. The location of this hotel is great! There are a number of restaurants and shops very close by. I felt safe walking by myself, even at night. There are also a number of public transport stops within 10 mins walk. Overall, I'll definitely return to this hotel when I return to Vancouver!

We chose this hotel because it is on Robson Street in the centre of Vancouver, because the prices are very reasonable, and because it has a pool, an amenity my wife really appreciates. The choice was a good one. The service is great, the room we had was spacious, clean and well-appointed, the mattress was firm but very comfortable, and the view was excellent. What’s not to like? We’ll definitely be here again.

The hotel was a wonderful choice for our 5 night stay. We were looking for a downtown hotel with a reasonable price, good location, and view. We would definitely stay there again.

It exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect location especially in December. It’s in the midst of a lively shopping area with plenty of neighborhood restaurants. We loved the people watching and seeing the bustling holiday activity. Bus #5 runs right outside on Robson Street with frequent service toward Stanley Park and beaches in one direction and downtown and the cruise ship piers in the other. You can walk to downtown in 10 min or so, but it was nice to have the ride option at the end of the day. A London Drugs was a few doors down the street and was a convenient location to buy our DayPass Compass card which permitted us unlimited daily travel on the buses and other metro transit systems.

We had an upper floor room (26) with amazing views of the city and the water to the west (English Bay view room). I think all the rooms are on a corner (with balcony) which gives them windows on two walls allowing for sweeping views. The neighborhood to the west is still largely high rise free so we could see for miles. The room was very clean, the beds comfy, and all in good condition. Our bathroom was a little tight, but was modern with a walk-in shower (no tub). The room had a Nespresso machine, small refrig, but no microwave. We didn’t use the aircon or heat. The building seemed warm and we kept our door to the balcony open most of the day/nite for fresh air. We were high enough that the traffic noise didn’t bother us and it quieted down at night.

We ate breakfast at the café (Abode) in the lobby a couple mornings and thought the food was reasonable and quite good, but there are numerous bakeries and a Tim Hortons nearby. As mentioned, there are an unending option of eateries within walking distance. If you like Japanese food, this is the place for you. Ramen, tonkatsu (try Saku down the hill), sushi, you name it, it was everywhere. The neighborhood has a kind of “Japantown” atmosphere, but there are other Asian eateries, as well as more standard western fare.

Highly recommend. We paid about US$200/day (incl. taxes) for the room, but this was Dec. Probably significantly more during the summer cruise season.

We stayed for 4 nights as part of a city break to Vancouver.

Firstly, the location is excellent for the business district or shopping trips. It is about a 10 minute walk to the bay area and the central part of Vancouver.

There are plenty of places to eat in the local area, particularly if you like Oriental or Asian cuisine.

It is also conveniently located for Stanley Park, a short walk in the opposite direction to the City.

The hotel is welcoming, and took us about 30 minutes in a taxi from the airport, costing about $40 Canadian. For first time visitors to the city, it is well worth it until you find your bearings.

One of the few down sides to the hotel was the staffing of the reception desk. We had to wait virtually eveytime we had to use the reception service. The staff on duty were friendly and helpful but, it would have been good for the guest if more staff were on duty.

The rooms were modern and comfortable, with a massive bed, fridge and coffee machine. There is a breakfast option in an attached restaurant but, we did not use this, preferring to use Cora for breakfast, just up the road, we would highly recommend this.

There is a small gym and pool which was more than adequate for our needs.

Overall. we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this for a short stay in Vancouver. Just be aware that Robson Street is a busy shopping area, so can be noisy in the evenings, this did not affect our stay or ability to sleep.

I recently stayed at the Blue Horizon Hotel, for 11 days in late January 2024. I have stayed at the Blue Horizon, dozens of times since the late 1990’s principally for business. The west-central location is excellent for both business people and tourists as it is an easy walk to downtown, the convention center, Coal Harbor, the West End, as well as Stanley Park. It also is a short walk to two different SkyTrain stations, including the SkyTrain Canada Line which takes you directly to the airport. Nearby are good restaurants at all price levels, as well as a bank, a great local coffee place, a 24-hour bakery with food/coffee/tea, a drug store, a BC liqueur store, and a grocery store. Pretty much everything you need for an extended stay.

The hotel setup is a bit unique. There are only 8 rooms per floor, and all rooms are corner rooms with lots of windows and a balcony. The bathrooms are small, but a remodel a few years back utilized the space they had very well and makes them feel more spacious than they are. The rooms include a good size closet, a small safe, a small refrigerator, coffee maker and a hot water pot for tea.

One reason I keep coming back is the staff. They are great and straightforward to deal with. As an example, this last visit I had an issue with the heating system after I returned to my room after 9 pm. I contacted the front desk and 5 minutes later the night maintenance manager was at my room door. He addressed the problem and had it fixed within a few minutes.

I will keep coming back when I need a place in Vancouver.

We booked this hotel pre cruise, we paid for the upgrade to floor 27 and had a great view of the harbour when standing on the balcony, if we returned we wouldn’t pay as the view was just ok. The breakfast in the restaurant was good but you had to pay for separately, and it was only open for breakfast so if you wanted to eat or drink later you had to go out. In the reception there was a machine to top up your drink bottles with water. The room was comfortable and clean. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The free bus to Capilano Bridge stops right outside which was a great day out

Whilst rooms and location were good here, we were shocked at the total lack of any facilities and it felt much more like a motel rather than a hotel. No restaurant and no bar, no way of getting any food or drink unless you went out! Very inexperienced reception team felt quite amateur. They say lots of places nearby but we didn’t find many, we checked out early and went to a proper hotel with all facilities available.

I am extremely appreciative of all this great help!
Answer from Steve G

It is a very safe area to walk around and explore. You can walk south and/or west in the quieter West End residential area and end up at English Bay or Stanley Park. The terrain is a little hilly, but if you are a regular walker you will have no issues. You can walk from the cruise terminal/east convention center to the hotel. I do it yearly when I attend conventions, but it is a bit uphill. Depending on your luggage a taxi-Uber might be worth it. It is a fairly flat 6-walk from the hotel to the Canada Line Skytrain Vancouver City Centre station. The Canada Line will take you directly to the YVR Airport Terminal. (YVR is the name of the Vancouvers main airport) There are many good places to eat at all price levels on Robson either east or west toward Stanley Park. Make sure and go to Breka and have a pastry it is right near the hotel. The Wave coffee place on the nearby corner is also great.

Hi Nivia, We do have laundry service offered but with limited pick up and drop off dates. Pick-up will be MONDAYS -> DROP OFFS WEDNESDAY -> PICK UP ON FRIDAYS. We also recommend a company called "WE DO LAUNDRY" they do same day pick-up. The front desk will be able to assist you better upon arrival.
