The location is ideal for exploring the city but I was really surprised at how nice the hotel was overall. Friendly staff throughout and a simple but comfortable room. Nothing overly fancy however the value is great and compared to higher priced hotels I have stayed at in Vancouver it is more than equal.

The Met easy access from Canada line from airport and from North at Whistler. Good food at Divas and room service. Now only wine needs to match up. Nice friendly size. Great access shopping and downtown. Pool small but clean and quiet an windows to outside. Like the pool, location, food, and size.

We have stayed at the Met once or twice a year for the past 15 years and are always pleased by the quality of staffing, cleanliness of the rooms, and general attention to details. The bed and bath linens are excellent, and the rooms well appointed. Meals at the Diva restaurant downstairs are nearly always very good. No complaints, and...

From the moment I checked in, I felt that I was treated like royalty, and the staff was there just to accommodate my needs. Clean and comfortable rooms, excellent restaurant bar, courteous personable and helpful staff. This is my 'go to' place while trying in Vancouver!

Nice enough hotel, a little dated. Large rooms and bathrooms (but showers are on the smaller side). Beds are comfortable. Unfortunately, the robe was very tattered... Makes you wonder how many other people have worn the robe before you

Hello Miranda, Thank you for your comments. I am sorry to hear that you received a tattered robe in your room. If you had let us know, during your visit with us, we would have been happy to have exchanged this for another one. Cheers.

Located in the heart of Vancouver BC, very convenient location, walking distance from restaurants and shopping. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean, big bathroom, restaurant conveniently located on the main floor next to lobby, if you don't want to go out. Very happy with our stay. There is no street parking, so parking was additional $40 a day.

My husband and I stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver for one night when we were in town for a wedding reception. The front desk staff and the bellman are super friendly and helpful. The location is very central - close to everything. The rooms are very clean and the bed was super comfortable. This is my second time staying...

Nice, upscale property with accommodating staff. Excellent fitness facilities. Extremely well-maintained and clean hotel (slow elevators, though and a bit "shuddery" in case that bothers you). I would stay here again happily (even despite the elevators. Staff were very helpful during a false fire alarm and the evacuation was handled well.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
