Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Nestled near English Bay and Stanley Park, the Sylvia Hotel emerges as a favorite for its prime location and historical charm, with guests often commending the walkability and scenic views. While the staff's friendliness and accommodating nature generally receive high marks, some visitors report the restaurant service can be less responsive. Although the ambiance and cleanliness earn praise, the noise levels and lack of air conditioning are noted drawbacks. Opinions on value vary, with some guests considering it reasonable and others feeling the amenities do not justify the rates.

My sister has recommended Sylvia Hotel for many years. A beautiful quaint hotel. Comfortable beds and pillows. It was nice to open a window and get fresh air and a quiet street. The ambience of the hotel is incredible with the old bannisters and photos on the walls. Delicious breakfast in the morning with a wonderful server Rey.

We love the Sylvia Hotel. It is comfortable and quiet, with a stately old world charm that you don't get elsewhere. The staff are great. And the location is fabulous rught on English Bay and at Dennan St with its vibrant shops and fab restaurants.

Great hotel. Wonderful location. There was an annoying repetitive noise which probably came from heating system. Only had one complaint. We asked for a day bed which was delivered but bed was not at all comfortable. Springs were visible. Suspect is was really old

The Sylvia is a lovely old hotel, steeped in gracious hospitality and history. The location is stunning, right on the water in Stanley Park. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, and it was a wonderful place for family and friends to gather for a great weekend!

The beachside location is perfect for long walks around the sea wall and window shopping on Denman Street. Staff were attentive and thoughtful. We recommend the Sylvia for an accessible, affordable and affable mini staycation.

We love this hotel and come here because our parents brought us here for many years. We always love the Sylvia and are coming back in March. Cindy and Ray at breakfast are wonderful and it’s so nice to see them and catch up. They make breakfast awesome!!! Our room was small! Just for two and cozy! The rooms are clean and beds comfy! We had the Valentines menu in the dining room and the food was very good! Lovely place to relax and soak up history and beach vibes!

We LOVE the Sylvia! Its location by Stanley Park and the sea wall, its value and unique character can't be beaten! Historical photos and stained glass grace the interior. The staff are always welcoming. Happy Hour while watching the sun set or its delicious dinners are legendary! Pet owners: this hotel is very accommodating with pets, at no additional cost.

I think I got the best room in the place and if I come back, I'll want the same room. I could see English Bay from my room, which is where I asked my wife to marry me 19 years ago. (the beach not the room) The food was good. I had the Cobb Salad which was really good even though it was extremely cheap on the avocado. ( about a teaspoon worth). I think it's pet friendly as well so I saw some dogs which was nice because I missed mine in Japan.

Perfect hotel in a fantastic area of Vancouver’s English Bay. The hotel is retro but very clean. Comfy Beds, great size room for the 3 of us for an overnight to see a concert. The bar and restaurant has wonderful cocktails and amazing breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel to stay at in Vancouver. We walked the trail to Stanley Park and walked to a few great restaurants in the area.
