The Victorian Hotel garners acclaim for its stylish and clean rooms, with guests often mentioning their comfort and modern flair. However, visitors also caution that the rooms may be on the smaller and noisier side. Patrons celebrate the hotel's well-kept amenities and the seamless blend of historic and contemporary design that defines the atmosphere. The staff's friendly and efficient service earns frequent praise, and the central location is considered ideal, despite some concerns about noise and the local environment. While the hotel's rates are generally seen as reasonable, a few guests have encountered unexpected extra fees.

Hard to rate this hotel— it was very clean, nice, cozy/stylish, and walkable. The separate bathroom thing is weird but they were always clean; I might have been more worried if I were trying to shower and leave a specific time in the AM since there were only 2 showers for about 10 rooms but there was always an open one when I needed it. The rooms have very comfortable beds but they are also TINY/ there was nowhere to really open a large suitcase and I felt like I was constantly trying to reorganize to make it more usable (and walls are thin; one morning, a dude was taking a super loud and seemingly idiotic work call right outside my bedroom door at 6:30am, probably because there’s nowhere to really sit in the rooms besides the bed). Don’t bother with breakfast at their restaurant— even though I prepaid I ended up going to Tim Hortons instead because it was 20 minutes and I hadn’t even gotten coffee yet. Overall given the insane hotel rates in Vancouver, I am happy this was an option and I’d stay here again.

Absolute top marks for this hotel! I was in town for a conference and it was centrally located and affordable. On my floor, 3 bathrooms (two full, one half) for I think 8 rooms. Each hotel room has a sink in it, and I never waited for a bathroom. Rooms were very clean, had a fridge and A/C unit in them.

Toward the end of my planned trip, I caught COVID and the front desk staff was absolutely stellar about moving me immediately to an en suite room so I could isolate safely. They stocked he room with extra linens, bigger mugs, and extra sugar packets so I could make tea (they have a full kettle in each room!), made sure my food orders got to my door, and even did a load of laundry for me. They were courteous and kind and checked up on me.

There were many excellent places for provisions nearby: several drugstores, a grocery store or two, multiple restaurants and coffee shops, plenty of convenience stores. Some unhoused people on the streets nearby, but I never once felt threatened or in danger or even uncomfortable.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The property was clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to ensure a great experience. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The location is perfect, with most attractions just a short walk away, making it super convenient. The shower had great water pressure and hot water, which made for a relaxing experience. Plus, the bathtub is impressively deep—perfect for a soak after a busy day. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay!

Such a clean facility! Our room was up a couple flights of stairs with no elevator , but the staff helped carry our cases up. I was concerned about the shared bathroom, having never done this before, but it worked fine! Rarely wax there a wait. The one time I experienced a wait I found an empty bathroom on the next floor down that was open. Bathrobes (fluffy white) are provided in each room to make the bathroom trip simple. Our room also had a sink in room which was convenient. The Victorian has an antique feel to it, but the bathrooms are bright, modern looking and cleaner than anything I’ve seen! The staff are amazing! They recommended breakfast at JAM and we were wowed by this little treasure within walking distance from the hotel! Best place to stay! A hundred stars!

The hotel is located in downtown Van which is close to many of the restaurants we visited. At max it was a 15-20 min walk depending on where we went, which is fine with us as Vancouver is a walkable city. Some of the places that we visited included Botanist (Brunch and abit pricey if that is your thing but the aesthetic is great), Black and Blue ( 5 min drive), and a few other places. I do recommend getting a car, which we did but note that onsite parking is $20 plus tax a day, which is annoying but they provide you with your own key fob so you can come in and out.
Regarding check in, it was pretty seamless as I booked and paid on expedia. I did have to put my creditcard down for the $100 dollar damage hold but that is to be expected.
Going up the steps with my suitcase, i did wish there was elevator but luckily we only had our carry on. Regarding the rooms, they were smaller then what i expected, end of bed is not to far from the wall, so minimal walking space ( and there was 2 people in the room). Outside of that the room was good, the bed was comfy and the linen was clean. Again based on looks it was pretty cute. Bathrooms are cleaned i believe every morning and besides a few hairs seen in the bathroom, it was pretty clean for it being shared with other people.

Note to others - please be aware that if your hair sheds, pick up your shed hair and throw it out. It is quite disgusting seeing hair particles on the counter, floor when brushing your teeth.

Towel were always stocked so you never ran out.

would i visit this hotel, yes. i like the location and the friendliness of the staff

I enjoyed my luxury solo-stay in a Legacy King Room at this hotel on a recent business convention to Vancouver. However, some things must be said. The location is half a block away from the homeless shelter, and the meandering homeless people. Even though they are timid, I did not feel safe.

The wireless was spotty. The TV did not connect to Netflix, Youtube, Prime or other streaming services through one's own account, and there wasn't anything worth watching on telly.

The billing seems a bit organized. You get text messages to buy additional breakfast at a discount, and then the discounted rate doesn't reflect in the bill.

The room was setup nicely, very design-y, great espresso machine, great windows, a scratchy (mixed-nylon) bathrobe, though I was stuck with the view of the parking lot for 6 nights.

I paid an arm and a leg, and came away not 100% satisfied. It's a nice boutique hotel, with its own flaws.

The room we had was fantastic, up on the third floor. The staff were always willing to help, more than happy to carry bags up the stairs for us as there was no lift available. We had a room with a sink in the room and use of the shared bathrooms. We never had to wait to use a bathroom and they were always very clean (there are multiple bathrooms on each floor). I think the room was great value for money in comparison to others that were available.

We did ask about laundry services, the price we were quoted was quite expensive so we decided to go to a launderette instead.

The hotel is located in between the good/bad parts of town. Unfortunately there were obvious signs of drug use near to the hotel, however this is common for many parts of Vancouver. Although it makes you feel a little uncomfortable, at no point did we feel unsafe.

Thank you for your kind words about our third-floor room and our helpful staff. We're glad you found the room to be great value for money and appreciated the cleanliness of our shared bathrooms. We understand your decision to use a launderette due to the laundry service cost. Regarding the location, we appreciate your feedback. Vancouver, like many cities, does have its challenges, but we're pleased to hear that you felt safe during your stay despite the presence of some uncomfortable situations nearby. We hope you had an overall enjoyable stay, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

We’re going to Queen Elizabeth Theatre and wanted to be within walking distance. The three rooms booked for family were all very nice although one was quite a bit smaller for the same price. The rooms were lovely and the staff were great. It was actually a very convenient location for all of us. The only issues were lack of accessible entrance and restaurant below one of the rooms. My elderly mother was with us and she can barely manage stairs and you have stairs to enter this hotel and there is no elevator. I might have overlooked this information when booking. Also, there was a restaurant below our room. We heard the noise until about 11-12 but admit it settled down and overall the location was quiet. If you were to go to bed early you would want to make sure you are not in a room above the restaurant below. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by how quaint and well presented this hotel was.

I made a reservation at Victorian Hotel on booking.com. The price displayed, and confirmed, said “TOTAL PRICE $ CAD.”

After I stayed at the hotel and got my credit card bill, the price was almost 20% higher than what was in my confirmation.

When I called to complain that I was charged a higher amount than was on my confirmation, they said the extra cost was 19% sales tax.

I explained that the sales tax was not disclosed anywhere on the booking.com reservation screens, nor was there any mention of sales tax in my email confirmation.

I asked the hotel to honor the price I agreed to. They would not.

Beware.

I stayed at The Victorian for one night with my daughters while visiting Vancouver for the Taylor Swift concert, and it was, without a doubt, the best hospitality experience I've ever had—trumping even five-star hotels. The entire staff was incredibly helpful, from the housekeepers to the front desk team.

A special thanks to General Manager Georgie, who went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. While we were waiting in the lobby for our room, I noticed the level of service and personalized experience all the guests were receiving, which truly stood out.

The friendship bracelets in the rooms, paired with wax-sealed envelopes and cards featuring Taylor Swift song quotes, was a lovely and thoughtful touch that really made the stay special.

Although we spent over $2000 for the night, we left feeling extremely satisfied and happy with outstanding service and personalized experience .

We will be recommending Victorian to our friends and family.

Very well done, everyone!

Thank you for creating unforgettable experience

There is a place called "Jam" on Beatty Street. Get there early as it lines up. Also the White Spot across the street from us has a good full breakfast. For a classic-old school place, The Smile Diner just around the corner is a low cost alternative for breakfast.

I am 70 yrs old. No reason to be negative and han never previously seen or spoken to this man .My first encounter with him was his banging on the door. My injury was serious enough for me to have to buy a business class ticket for the return journey so that I could lie down. I needed a wheelchair assistance at the airport. The last 3 days of my trip were spent on the bed unable to move, with 2 pre paid tours missed. His words to me were ( I Don't Care) I am still having to take very strong pain medication as it turned out I had damaged the sciatic nerve. Obviously it's his word against mine, and he's never going to admit it as his job would be on the line, unless he's related to the owner

I did both recently. Taxi was around $35. Train, if I recall, is $7.95 for two zones. I'd opt for the train for sure. If you plan on taking the train anywhere else that day, just pay $12.95 for the day pass.
