The room and hotel staff were excellent, friendly, clean and proffesional and what I expect at a Fairmont. A couple things were annoying but I would assume easy to fix. I was unable to connect to the wifi with my laptop because the "accept the terms and conditions" page where I was asked for the password and room number was a pop up that wouldn't load, we tried many times but eventually I just used my phone as a hotspot.I was using a new MacBook Pro. The second small inconvenience was that the weekend morning breakfast at the ARC restaurant included an all you can eat sampler-type menu for $65 and you order off a list of items and the server brings them to you... I did not want a big breakfast and I wanted to order the eggs Benedict with arugula salad... however, my husband was looking forward to the sampler menu. Unfortunately, our server relayed to us that we could not have the all you can eat option unless we both ordered it... and so my husband wound up ordering something he didn't really want and it overall seemed like an unnecessary policy and we definitely would have preferred to know this before we sat down so we could have chosen another restaurant. The restaurant service was very slow and the eggs Benedict had good flavour but was served at room temperature which is not great when you're having hollandaise. Overall pretty disappointing meal but luckily there are so many great restaurants close to the hotel that it didn't affect us much. There is a Starbucks directly across the road from the hotel which was great and needed since we did not have coffee pods in the room for some reason. Also the rooftop pool, hot tub and gym are very nice and we loved spending time there... Despite the frustration with the wifi and the "meh" restaurant experience we really enjoyed our stay at The Fairmont Waterfront and would definitely recommend it as a wonderful central location to stay in Vancouver. …
Canada has always been on our bucket list of places to visit. We relied on our AAA travel agent and wow, she picked an excellent place. The room was nice and spacious and we had a great Harbor view. The hotel was nice but for the cost we had to many issues. Upon booking I was told check in was 3pm but requested early room availability and was told it should not be a problem. We arrived at 1pm and a room was not available and were told that it would be about a half hour and they would call us. We went to the restaurant bar and waited. At 3pm I went to the concierge and asked them to check on the status. they came back and said it would be ready in 10 min. and gave us 2 complementary drinks in the bar. At 3:30 it was still not ready so we checked our luggage and went to the market. When we returned at 5pm we still had not been notified of the room number so again I checked and was given a room number and we went up to the room. upon getting to the room our card keys did not work on the door so I called down to the desk and they said they would send someone up asap to fix the issue. Almost 30 min later someone did show up and give us new room keys that worked. When we booked our room we asked for Brunch reservations and were told they were booked but said they kept table open for guests. We went to the restaurant a half hour before Brunch and were told that they would could get us in at 1pm, a wait of 3 hours. I informed them of what I was told and she said she could put me on a waiting list and I accepted. We waited about an hour and while waiting talked to some of the other guests that were on the waiting list that checked in after us and then proceeded to get tables before us (4 couples to be exact) I went back up to the desk and asked about it, and there answer was that we were just over looked and that now we had to stick to the 1pm time. after asking to speak to a manager, all of a sudden there was an open table and the reception was very rude about the whole incident. For the premium location and price I would not stay here again. I will say the Concierge was very nice and did what she could.…
The experience started off not in the greatest way. We did the online check-in ahead of time and estimated that our arrival time would be 2:15 pm. We actually arrived earlier at 1:30, as we were coming in from the Fraser Valley. Upon checking in at the Front Desk, we were informed that the room was not quite ready, but we were checked in and received our room keys, and we would receive a text message when the room was ready. At 3:10 we went to the concierge to ask if she could find out the status of our room, to which she informed us that the room was ready, but it had not been "inspected" and it would be ready in about 10 minutes. We ended up having to call back again 15 minutes later and we were informed that the room was in fact ready for us. Once we arrived to the room, we found that the bell desk had not brought up any of our luggage, which meant we were worried about not being able to be ready for our dinner reservations. It was 15 minutes later when the bellman brought up our luggage and we did make it to dinner on time. While there was nothing in the room upon arrival, which I was disappointed about, someone did come to the room a while later to bring up some chocolate covered strawberries and a birthday card for my wife. This was nice, if not poorly timed. The other major negative we found, was the price for valet parking to be $75 per day is ridiculously over priced. We like to stay with Fairmont Hotels, but this is the kind of price gouging that makes me not want to return. The concierge Beckie did contact me by text the next day to see how we were enjoying the first night. Upon letting her know about the delay in checking in, she did offer to provide us with 2 free drink vouchers to use at Arc Restaurant, which we found to be a nice gesture. Overall for the most part, I was not impressed with this experience. I will definitely be thinking twice before I book at a Fairmont Hotel again in the future, especially Fairmont Waterfront.…
The hotel itself was ok. Nothing special. However the hotels management of security deposits was absolutely disgraceful. For two rooms for a two night stay they took an extra $4k out of our bank account for security on top of the actual hotel fees. We are still waiting for some of it back and its been two weeks now. This caused us major problems on the rest of our holiday and was never explained to us on check in. Ill certainly never be staying here again based on this alone.
Remains a great hotel in a great location. Obviously gets a lot of cruise passengers as it is directly across the street from the terminal. How they cope with the luggage and one night stays is beyond me! City view Gold room was well equipped, clean and quiet during my three night stay. Would definitely recommend booking a Gold Level room if it is within your budget, the service level is exemplary and you are made to feel so welcome. I was fortunate to enjoy good weather and the balcony of the lounge is a great view point to watch the milling cruise passengers get to/and from their cruise. Stayed a few times now and never been disappointed, obviously as an aviation buff the Fairmont at the airport has a special place in my heart! But in the city this is a winner.
Disappointed on a few different levels. Accor points expired in January with no notice, Had to call security at 4 am for neighbors, and received no follow up or accommodations. I loved the Fairmont, since it was CP. Not feeling any love from your organization. Think its time to move on.
Nice location, and close to waterfront and shopping. great AMEX benefits for room upgrade. Great breakfast buffet and nice dinner food. The rooms are very quiet and had great sleep. Overall a great experience
Family with young kid stayed during February 2023 Family Day long weekend. Hotel is centrally located with many places of interest within working distance such as Canada Place, Fly Over Canada. Lot of restaurants in the waterfront and other streets to choose from. Hotel offers underground parking for extra fee and connected to the lobby by elevator. Very convenient. We stayed in a room on the 7th floor with view of the water. Swimming pool, hot tub and the gym on the 3rd floor is great. Overall clean room, good housekeeping done daily. Overall a pleasant stay with the family.
aside from the expense of the wine ($33 in the hotel lobby bar and $53 for the bottle in the mini bar - which was nowhere near that high of quality of wine) this was a beautiful hotel, great views and the staff was wonderful.
