I stayed a week and found the hotel to be a very convenient location and the staff very helpful. When I asked about parking for a friend coming to visit me in the evening, the staff said there was no visitor parking, but told my friend to park behind the loading bay for free. I was also pleased that my room came with a microwave oven, which was very useful.
This Hotel is also a Social entity that supports community programs, donating 💯% of their profit to women and families in need. The cleanliness, the service, the care and infrastructure and prices are above and beyond expectations. Amazing place if you are a tourist, an international student with a budget or a local like me, dealing with a flood in my apartment... This is the best place with an amazing reputation with endless commitment to the community. Way to go guys! Keep up the good work! So far so awesome
Nothing fancy, but very well priced for what it is. Especially nice to know that the profit from this hotel goes to support local communities, which is what brings my review up from a 4 to a 5. The room was spacious enough, and loved that we had a mini fridge and microwave in the room (we were there 3 nights and ended up having lots of leftovers from various meals). The staff were pleasant, the room was clean. Location was quite good as well.
Good morning to all, I am going to tell a little about my experience and that of my colleagues in the YWCA. We are students from all over the world, we came to YWCA because GEC was full, now I understand why all the agencies don't recommend YWCA and why as soon as we can we run away from there, either to another residence or to an apartment. They work under the slogan of making you feel at home, and the reality is that it's not even close. As soon as you have a problem they don't help you, they tell you it's not their problem and the customer treatment couldn't be worse. They don't care about you and don't help you at any time, they are only interested in making money. And as for the prices depending on the day you go down and who you talk to they tell you one or the other, having a difference of up to 200$. They take advantage of the fact that you are a foreigner, young and that you make the reservation from your country and they give you a more expensive reservation model than what it really is. Friends of mine in the same type of room and during the same time have paid $1000 difference. There is not even a minimum of understanding and help, I have gone down to reception to tell a problem and literally their response was "this is not my problem". So if you are a student and you want to come to Vancouver, any option is better than going to YWCA. This feeling is general we are like 20 students who have been here and none of us have a good opinion, we will never recommend it.…
I’ve stayed a few times and would come again. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Very quiet. Close to both sky train lines. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Good choice for a solo traveller.
