Excellent value. The hotel has everything you need and nothing you don't. Clean, quiet, new, and the staff is very friendly. I particularly like having the sink outside the bathroom. Very convenient. We could walk to everything we wanted, or could easily get on transit if it was too far.
Rooms are usually clean with sufficient ventilation and the common kitchen helps outstation visitors by saving a few dollars on food. They have enough utensils which customers can borrow. We have tried both double and queen rooms and they are really good with comfortable beds, a mini fridge, private bathroom etc
I booked a single room at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. There were a couple amenities missing in the room compared to a hotel such as a small microwave and coffee maker, but there was complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning and also there was a kitchen available that included a microwave on another floor. The shower had discolored grout, which could be bacteria, but overall the cleanliness and friendliness throughout made up for it. Would book again ... no hesitation.
First time staying at YWCA hotel. Convenient location to Robson. Rooms recently updated. Pleasantly surprised. Stayed in a room with private bath. New glass shower and fixtures. Room also had mini fridge and comfortable beds. I have stayed in a few downtown hotels. Y will now be my first pick!
We picked this hotel as it was close to the cruise terminal, affordable, and looked nice. It was as advertised with clean modern spacious rooms; paid the extra for a unit with a private bath! The staff were super friendly and provided directions, less than a mile away, to a free shuttle to the suspension bridge park as well as a discount coupon. We ate at a sports bar around the corner which featured a keg of nachos. Would definitely stay here again.
you can stop your search! If you are looking for a clean, conveniently located, best value hotel in downtown Vancouver the Y hotel is it!! I have stayed 2x, the first was a shared bathroom with an adjoining room and this last time with a private bathroom. truthfully I prefer not sharing the bathroom. I am a careful traveller and must have a clean and safe place to stay. This is it.
In over forty years of travel I came to default every Vancouver trip to the YW. Great location. Super clean, quiet and affordable. Then they expanded and up went the prices. And while I still include the YW in my short list my most recent visit cost over six hundred dollars for two pax for one nights accommodation. Clean and quiet but the affordability went out the window.
The YWCA is located in a very desirable area of Vancouver. The rooms are specious, clean, with comfortable mattresses and luxurious bedding. The hotel is well taken care of, the staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions. I could not have asked for a nicer room, location, helpful staff or accommodation price. Do not hesitate to stay at the YWCA Hotel, it is outstanding!
I booked a room with a double bed with private bath. I really like this hotel 1) The staff. I was warmly welcomed. The room was ready. After I unpacked my bag, I suddenly realized that the room is right next to the kitchen . I am a light sleeper so I requested a change. The staff and manager were very accommodating and changed my room the next day. I didn’t know there aren’t so many room with bath . Thanks to the staff. 2) The room has a view of the stadium which change to a different color every night and I just love the view. 3) The WiFi worked great. No complaint. 4) There is complementary coffee and water in the lobby so that was great. 5) The hotel uses a card activation to access the rooms so I felt safe. In the morning I saw a security guard there. 6) The location is perfect. It is very close to downtown, to a nearby subway and easy walking distance to Chinatown. Nearby there is pedestrian/bike path and I use it to walk to Stanley Park. 7) I booked using Stayvancouverhotels.com. There was a promotion at that time. It not only gave me the best rate that I checked which were YWCA web site and BOOKING.COM, but also offered 2 tickets to the Capilano suspension bridge values at $62.95 each . Small minus : The room is rather small but no problem for me at all. If you have 2 people, hmm…. All in all - a 100 %, A + hotel.…
Great location in downtown Vancouver. Close to bars, restaurants and walking distance to Rogers Arena and BC Place. The hotel is good value for the money. It is clean, well run and the staff are always so friendly and helpful. A secret gem in the heart of downtown!
