Detailed Reviews
This hotel was a great value with a kid, as we could have a separate bedroom from her on the couch in the living room and we both had bathroom access. Having a kitchen was also great, and the supermarket across the street was a great addition. The location is fine - close to public transportation and walkable, but less exciting if you walk towards the convention center area. Walking distance (if you can walk a bit) to the subway for the airport and a closer walk to the sea plane airport if you're leaving for Vancouver Island after. We would stay here again.

Large, modern, comfortable and clean apartment, seperate kitchen and even a study area with PC and great view. Helpful staff. In good location close to shopping and eateries. However, like most places to stay in Vancouver, especially near cruise change over days, it's pretty expensive. If you are having a quick one night stop, you would probably be better looking for something clean and comfortable at a lower price point as you don't get a chance to appreciate the high quality here.

We found the Carmana a life-saver after the Airbnb we had booked turned out to be not as described and unusable.
The one bedroom suite at the Carmana has a comfortable bedroom, a good bathroom and kitchen, a large lounge/dining room and a luggage store room. The kitchen was well-enough equipped for a couple spending a week and making a few simple meals in the suite to avoid having to eat out for every meal.
Daily servicing as in a hotel. Nespresso capsules supplied, 6 per day.
On the third floor there are: a large laundry room with plenty of machines and payment ($3.50 per load) made through an App; and a small gym.
The car parking is underground a few levels down. Self parking is $38 per day.
The location is brilliant with Urban Fare directly over the road and an easy walk to anywhere downtown.
The staff were all charming.

I don't consider this accommodation to be a hotel, it is a high rise apartment complex...there are permeant residents living in the building as well as the short term guests staying there. There is no restaurant, bar, coffee shop or lounge area in the building, they don't even provide a guest bathroom in the very small reception area.
We found the people working the reception a little hard to communicate with due to either their attitude or cultural differences, we are still not sure, I have to say it was awkward at times.
Our two bedroom Executive Suite apartment was large enough in the kitchen and living area however the two bedrooms and bathrooms were small. There was nothing special about the room and at $750.00 Canadian dollars per night it was expensive for what we got, on the positive side it was very clean. Bathroom products were not memorable.
The bathroom fan is controlled by the air-conditioning nob, we had some issues and ended up opening the window in the bedroom for fresh air.
There is a large coin laundry on-site which was handy.
Location is close to Robson St and a number of good restaurants, a small grocery store is across the street.
We wouldn't stay again, simply because we prefer the convenience of staying in hotel accommodation with somewhere to eat drink and relax in style.

I recently stayed for three nights at the Carmana Hotel & Suites on my way to an Alaskan cruise. I was expecting a more high-end experience given the price and online website photos. While the rooms were spacious and clean, complete with kitchenette, the quality of amenities was lacking…the bed linens felt scratchy and over-starched, the soaps, cremes, shampoos and conditioners were of motel quality.
All that aside, it was the transactional nature of the front desk staff and their lack of warmth and connection that proved a huge disappointment. On the last night of my stay, the entire hotel was awakened by a hotel-wide alarm with no announcement as to the nature of the emergency and how to proceed. I myself walked down 25 floors as did others from various levels with some holding children, some physically impaired, and all a bit anxious. Evacuation led all guests to gather outside in front of the hotel. There were fire trucks and firemen already on the scene. We found out only through conversations with a firemen twenty minutes later that a fire alarm in a section of the hotel under renovation had tripped.
What I found so astonishing and unprofessional is that the front desk staff and the manager on duty made zero effort to communicate with us. In fact, watching them try to get the elevators working again so that we could all get back to our rooms by reading a manual and inserting various keys was near comical. The next day at checkout, I told the person at the front desk that they need to communicate with guests better when faced with an emergency of this scale. There was only the weakest of apologies, almost as if the entire staff had hoped the entire incident would be forgotten. Truth be told, the hotel could have just as easily been run as one big Airbnb with no front desk at all.
The price point is simply too high given the amateurish quality of those in charge.

Carmana was a comfortable place to unwind after a day of sight seeing….a LR/apt size K /BR/bath and office have plenty of space with a great location. Plenty of restaurants, shops and sights nearby. There’sa grocery across the street if you’d like to cook. The front desk staff was helpful with restaurant suggestions and securing a cab for us when ready to check out.

We chose this hotel after finding it on stayvancouverhotels.com and took advantage of a gift card promotion that was offered.
This hotel is in a perfect location for enjoying all the fun on Robson Street. It was also an easy walk to the Vancouver Art Gallery. Further away, but still walkable, was Stanley Park (where we rented bikes), and the False Creek Ferry dock that took us to Granville Island. We parked in the hotel garage and didn't need the car for 3 days. The grocery store across the street came in useful, too.
A big bonus for this hotel is that the units are complete apartments - ours had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a full kitchen. Great value for such nice accommodations. The only area that needed improvement in our unit was the black-out curtains in each of the bedrooms did not fully cover the windows, so we did not have complete privacy, which seemed somewhat important with neighboring buildings directly across.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

What a great 'find' in the heart of downtown Vancouver! Easy, friendly, warm check-in, very clean and comfortable suites (one bedroom with full bath), kitchen, and fabulous views! With Urban Fare right out the front door, we stocked the fridge with a few items and returned the next morning for a simple, yet yummy family brunch with an active, happy toddler of two. The location is ideal for exploring the buzzing downtown decked out in its holiday glow on foot. I highly recommend it for a family or grown-up getaway to the city.

The suite is spacious, fully equipped and with a great view. This place is spic and span. Even the windows are spotless. Although it is not ultramodern, it is practical. Cleanliness is the most important element to decompress after a tiring flight.
The utensils in the kitchen are absolutely clean. It has everything you normally use at home including a new sponge, dishwashing detergent and dishwasher detergent.
Comparing to other hotels in the vicinity, the price for a suite is worth every penny. The rating for cleanliness is A+.
Excellent location, opposite to a supermarket Urban Fare, right by a dim sum restaurant, Neptune, and more restaurants on Robson Street. Of course, easy accessibility to many tourist attractions like Stanley Park.
Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Bonus: there is a big storage room for all you suitcases, bags and many more.

I came here for my 40th birthday with two girlfriends for one night and my husband for the following evening. The room was nice and the location was perfect with a beautiful view.
At checkout time I went to drop off my keycards and get a copy of the bill and they asked me to stay in the lobby for 10 to 15 minutes while they checked the room for damages. I said ok as I was taken aback (what more could I say?) and while irritated, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed this was maybe their policy. 5 minutes later I watched not one but two different Caucasian couples check out within 2 minutes. Neither of them had to get their rooms checked. I calmly asked the person at the front desk to explain to me why I was waiting while the previous guests weren't. She immediately went to go get her acting manager, who said it was policy and I was a "new" guest so they needed to check the room. I pressed further for a more substantial explanation and she told me that it was the weekend and people sometimes used the room to party and so this was just their policy. I again pointed out the people before me that did not receive the same treatment and she said she would make a note on our file and would not check our room the next time we stayed for a visit, which is definitely not ever happening. I was so embarrassed by this treatment at the end of what was a very lovely stay. To be treated like a second class guest was disheartening and I had to exit the lobby with tears of frustration in my eyes. This felt like straight up racial discrimination. I will not be coming back here, and I will warn all my people but especially the BIPOC community to steer clear unless they want to pay $600 a night to be mistreated.
It's truly unfortunate because this last 30 minutes out of 48 hours turned my experience completely around and really derailed what was such a great celebratory weekend. Not the memory I wanted to take home with me. Do better.
As an added bonus, my husband emailed them the day we left (Sunday Aug.6th) and we have heard nothing from anyone at this hotel. Ky mother went down to get the business cards of some higher ups to email them, and spoke to a manager at the desk who said they were aware of his email and they would respond after the long weekend.... it is now Wednesday. Their only response has been to take their Facebook page down. It shows you where their priorities lay. I recommend reading some of the other poor reviews on multiple sites and you will see this was not just a me issue.

It depends which outlet and how far it is? I found the Black Top & Checker cabs very reliable. They have a web site and you can either phone or email them and ask what the fare would be. There is a very good sky train service in Vancouver which is very inexpensive. They interconnect with good bus services.
The room I stayed in was nice and somewhat modern after North American standards. No need to worry about that :)
Not sure, we got a pull out bed delivered to our room in the past.
If you only need 1 extra space, I’ve had adults spend the night on the couch. Getting extra blankets and pillows was easy.
No it is not. And the hotel is actually not permitted to do business as a hotel. But I enjoyed it anyway
