I recently went on an Alaskan cruise departing from Vancouver. When we returned to Vancouver we stayed at the Carmana Plaza. This Stylish hotel has an excellent location (5 minutes to the nearest supermarket, 15 minutes walk to Stanley Park and about 10 minutes to Canada Place and the cruise terminal.). The Carmana Plaza staff were very helpful and friendly,...

Carmana Plaza is an excellent suite hotel. We had a single room with a king-size bed and a separate sitting room and fully-equipped kitchen. We were on the 25th floor and looked down on the nearby building site. There was no noise even during the day. The location is very good with a wonderful deli/supermarket right across the road and...

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times so far and have never been disappointed. The staff have always been helpful and as attentive as I have required. The rooms are large and beautiful. The storage area is also exceptionally handy to keep all of your suitcases/purchases in. All of the living space is indeed accessible with the storage available....

Stayed here as part of a road trip we were doing. It was a very nice place (although initially hard to find due to the construction work nearby) Rooms were clean and spacious and well equipped. Could have done with 2 bedside tables and lamps instead of 1. For self catering option there is a supermarket right across the road....

I usually put positives first in a review, but this time it's more important to focus on a very big negative - the building work next door. They are still building the exterior and while they do that there is a lot of noise from the construction site. We were on the 22nd floor, and the building work has reached...

Stayed here for 5 nights two adults and an 18 and 20 year old. Im sure we must have been upgraded as our suite was amazing. We had a master room with King bed flat screen TV and full bathroom ensuite. Another room with two single beds and a flat screen TV. The main area had a sofa bed all...

I stayed here for two weeks in March with my partner and have to say other than the building work that was going on it was an amazing hotel. It was my partners birthday while we were there and the staff delivered a huge fruit basket to our room for him which was really lovely. The location couldn't be any...

Well appointed and well situated in downtown Vancouver. For business or pleasure it can be highly recommended. The room/suite we had was spacious with an office area, sitting area and kitchenette. All the staff we found to be very willing and helpfull.

We stayed in June 2014 for 16 nights to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary and my husbands 50th Birthday. We stayed in a Premium floor 1 bed apartment. We requested a room with a view of ocean and we got it! We never tired of that wonderful view and sat out on the teeny tiny balcony ( tiny table and...

Stayed here on two occasions. The first was only marred by being put in a non smoking room, after a request for a move, we were upgraded to a non smoking suite. Very clean, quiet and great apartment style accommodation in the downtown area of Vancouver. Very central to shopping areas and to various sight seeing adventures. Warm friendly helpful...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
