The Buchan is an older property with older facilities. The staff were nice and we did get a parking spot next door at an apartment building. But, the beds were too old and small to be comfortable for us. We liked the area-with a district that had restaurants within walking distance. But, it wasn't for us. (We did read about...

This hotel has everything you need. Very reasonably priced, the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is in a great location, close to heaps of great restaurants and to public transport and has the most incredibly helpful staff.

Loved it! clean, simple, quiet, good location - could use some color or flowers in the room, but otherwise perfect! Comfy bed, warm room, happy stay! the price is fantastic, and shared bathroom no problem!

The Buchan Hotel is a well kept hotel, with very friendly staff. The facilities are a bit old but very well kept. The location is great, on the side of Stanley Park and a few blocks from the beach, with great shopping and restaurants close by. Excellent value for money!

I searched online for a decently priced hotel in Vancouver. I found this for $89/night. Not being familiar with Vancouver I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! The staff is top, the location is ideal, the neighbourhood feels safe and the grounds are beautiful. They even deducted $20 for not giving us the room we had booked...

Very Clean with character vintage looking hotel, great location just walking distance to downtown and Stanley Park, super helpful and friendly staff, the only downside is that the bathroom and showers are shared but private, they were very clean with clean towels, and there's no elevator so if you have heavy luggage is best to book downstairs. We most likely...

This hotel is just so charming. It is like a step into Vancouver's past. The rooms are big enough and I dont mind having the bathroom down the hall. The toilet rooms are teeny tiny, you can barely fit in them. You are just a block off of Denman street for great dining, and close to both sides of the...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
