When we arrived at 12 the hostel staff changed our room allowing us to check in early- many thanks for this! We stayed in a private room for 3 nights, we were very pleased the room had its own toilet and sink! The room is very basic and the bed was very squeaky but it was big enough. We stayed...

I think it was a good hostel, small rooms with 2 bunks in but the shower facilities were good and the location is great. Near a train station and not far to walk to Stanley park or the main shopping streets. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby too. I would advise getting a locker as I had things stolen from...

We stayed in a private room for 3 days. The whole vibe of this place is very depressing. It seems that this is also the reason why mist of the guests are spending not more time than necessary in the hostel. I think the place needs some colours on the wall and better activities.

We chose this Hi over the central Hi because we had read it was quieter, and yes it is quiet in the way that it is not overlooking Granville street like Hi central. The room was a little tight with four beds in it and the sink in the corner appeared not to be working which was annoying. There were...

Wickedly uncomfortable beds. Appalling standard of hygiene in the common bathroom areas. Overall rate of maintenace is far less rate of natural decay. New carpet desperately needed. Check in friendly, really good location, kitchen seems fines (but for hygiene issues).

The hostel is located in a great neighborhood: in close vicinity to the beaches, the city centre, public transportation (buses, trolley buses and Sky Train), Village's bars, pubs and restaurants. I stayed in a private room: very simple, but clean. Overall: recommended!

Had a good stay in a private room, very spacious with a sink in my ro. Bathroom was opposite me so very convenient. Hostel is in a good location, only a 20min walk to the downtown area and 10 min walk to the seawall and ferry dock where you can easily reach Granville Island Only downside to the hostel is...

Very well run, functioned place to stay. Good family rooms, clean bathrooms, Plenty of facilities, But the kitchen breakfast times were to small. Resulting in overcrowding, in fact the kitchen was to small for the capacity of people. It was a bit of a laughingly prepare a meal, also, there was not enough seating eat. We also booked a cycle tour,...

HI Downtown isn't Downtown (HI Central is), but I actually enjoyed the location. Walk-able to the downtown area and to the beach, and in a quieter but still fun neighborhood. I took place in some of the Hostel activities, Erik is a bit of a talker, but most people enjoyed the hike/tour. The rooftop is excellent to chill on, but...

A bit dated. Nowhere to really chill out. Wifi is a bit naff and you have to sit in the foyer to get good connection. Not really enough seating in the kitchen/dining area to accommodate the amount of guests. And the room was absolutely stifling. Maybe invest in some air con.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
