I hesitated to write this review as I was worried that this sweet gem would be lost to me due to influx of the "maddening crowd". But, it needs to be said: The Kingston is a lovely boutique hotel that combines simple grace, a European aesthetic, a central downtown location, a fantastic and welcoming staff, and tremendous value for price....

This B&B is in the centre of Downtown within walking distance of great restaurants, bars and shops. Great transport links in the city at a great price. Not a problem having a room with a shared bathroom as room came with robes and slippers and bathrooms were spotlessly clean. Limited breakfast choices - cereal and bagels (no vegan milk which...

This hotel is in a fabulous location right downtown off Georgia Street. It is a turn of the century architectural pleasure, totally renovated and just a lovely place to stay. Our room on the first floor was quiet, spotless, roomy and very nicely decorated. Breakfast in the morning was served by very pleasant staff.

We stayed at the The Kingston for 2 nights. It was a really pleasant stay. It is an older hotel with a lot of character. We had a room with a shared bathroom, although they do have rooms with private bathrooms. The bathrooms were always clean and fully stocked. Our room was reasonably priced, especially for downtown Vancouver. Our room...

Stayed here New Years Eve and was only able to get a small room for 2. Would be perfect for 1. Yes the room was small but bed comfortable and very clean and we did only sleep there!!! Our room didn't have an ensuite which concerned me at first but really wasn't an issue. My husband went to the floor...

In its price range, The Kingston turned out to be quite decent at first sight. It was clean, the rooms 'compact' but functional and well equipped. Unfortunately many rooms share facilities. We were placed right next to one of the shared bathrooms which had a loud extractor fan that didn't turn off after a few minutes as it was supposed...

I absolutely loved this place, it was just too cute! It's definitely turn of the 20th century. The rooms are New York City style; smaller but adorable with sinks built in the room and a little closet. The water heaters were beautiful and delightful. The bathrooms have beautiful architectural touches with original tile and upgraded but time appropriate wallpaper. The...

Don't waste your time or money here. One nights stay here was 114$ and you don't even get your own bathroom they charge you another 34$ just to have your own bathroom. So you have to share a bathroom which are down the halls from your room. The rooms are very very small and the blankets are scratchy and not...

I came to Vancouver for a mixture of business and pleasure. I asked my friend in the area to recommend hotels. All the ones he suggested were outside my price range, but this one was in the right area. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, the comfort of the beds, the small but perfect breakfast, and the...

We loved the location as we could walk to FanExpo at the convention center, have safe parking, a quick breakfast each morning. We did have a TV and bathroom in our room but no power outlet for the CPAP machine nor Coffee/Tea set up. It was quite quaint and just right for our anniversary/FanExpo adventure.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
