We were sooo impressed by a wonderful and well presented breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable and we slept well - much better than at home somehow. The innkeeper was very accommodating to my special needs and also helped with making sure we had a great time while in Vancouver. The inn actually has a Red Seal chef and they grow...

The description of the property is over-stated. Bed linen was poor. Pillows had an odour. Couches, carpets needed to be cleaned. Bathroom supplies not replenished (shampoo). The website states that the place was "resored to Victorian splendour" a gross over-statement. The bed in room#4 is beyond terrible. The mattress needs to be replaced. Acknowledged by the on-site manager who stated...

We loved our stay at Manor Guest House and the fact that after a full day sight seeing we could come home to our "home away from home" in the lovely leafy suburb, which is still close enough to excellent public transport (both train & bus stations). The breakfasts were excellent and Dave was very helpful.

We stayed at the Manor for 7 days and were very pleased with the accomodations. The first night we were in a two bed/two bathroom and then were transferred to the "penthouse suite" which had a loft as our company increased in size. Each room had period pieces of furniture which suited the home. The kitchen, in each suite, was...

We had a wonderful stay at the Manor in May, 2012. The house is a very well maintained old manor, with a gorgeous garden and good period pieces of furniture. The highlight of our stay was the breakfasts, excellent food and very scintillating company, as people from all over the world stay here. The staff were warm and friendly and...

We were here for 3 nights. Location and service was very good. Very polite and helpful. Only 20 minute walk to downtown Vancouver. However the building is old and run down and needs some serious renovation. The floor in our room made alot of noise when walked. The windows wont stay up without extra support. And the worst thing was...

I am getting married in June and was trying to book two rooms mid-week for our parents to stay. The man on the other end of the phone was so incredibly rude, so uninterested in answering my questions, and so un-interested in my business he practically hung up on me! If they aren't at least nice when you inquiring about...

Our two night minimum was not met by this person trying to reserve a room. I said everything I could to get her to realise even though she wanted to reserve more than one room for one night it still didn't meet our two night minimum per room.

I recently spent some time here whilst on business and it's highly convenient. 5 minute walk to the Skytrain which takes 10 minutes to get Downtown and loads of restaurants and bars nearby. I'd stay here again but it does need some work. The decor is a bit tired and the kitchen facilities could be more modern but overall it's...

The best thing about this place is the location. Minutes away from the skytrain and lots of amenities nearby. My wife and I were in town for a wedding, and the venue was nearby, so this was perfect. It is also a block away from the nearest busy street, so there was no road noise. As another reviewer noted, though,...

The Manor was a stop over before we headed out onto a cruise and we found it quiet, comfortable, and quaint. The manager was full of helpful information and had some funny stories to share with us and the breakfast staff were wonderful. It was an overall great way to start our vacation and would highly recommend it.

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
