I inquired at Shaughnessy Village and was told they have apartment rentals. I was under the impression this was a business with short term and long term rentals. What it is is a really run down place with many social problems. I stayed there two months and many things were stolen. I came home one day and there was a...

I stayed in this facility for 5 months spanning 2012-2013 and found the staff and accomodation very acceptable and well managed. Staff were courteous, pleasant and flexible and the room rates were great. Unfortunately they closed their restaurant, which was a very convenient place to go. You will have 1-3 blocks walk depending on what you need. Bus is very...

I was there from January 10, 2013 to February 9, 2013 and my stay there was decent. The room was clean and the staff were nice and helpful. The bed was more than enough. Kitchenette could use a vent, so if you're cooking think twice.

This was a nice place to stay. The staff were kind and considerate. It gave me a place to rest during my husband's stay in the hospital. Less than a 10 minute walk to VGH The room was a studio apt, just the right size for me. How much room do you need? My bed was comfortable. I would recommend...

I had a great time staying here. My room had a nice view of the North Shore, the bed was comfortable and I had all the room I needed. I was even able to do my laundry! I do wish I there had been some cutlery in the kitchenette because I ate some takeaway dinners and I hate sporks. I...

was a nice place to stay on my recent hospital trip....just way too small.Liked the spa room and it was nice to relax there. If the rooms were a bit bigger it would have been better tho.Good location and the view was very nice.

Ive been here couple of times to visit my friends. Nice rooms, but this place is really a grasshouse. It smells the same if you go out the train in amsterdam and you walk to the red light district, this is the same smell in shaugnessy village. Non smoking place?! Its a dream, but not true. If you like weed,...

For the past 5 years, I've been coming to Vancouver several times a year and always stay at the Shaughnessy Village. This is due to the welcoming and professional front desk staff, particularly Natalie and Ron. I also appreciate the helpfulness of the housekeeping staff. The hotel is great value. It makes it possible for me to come to work...

My mom and I have stayed here a number of times and it's ideal for us. Not fancy for sure, not modern in any way but functional and the location is perfect. This time we were put in one of the newly renovated rooms. Still small and rather barren of decoration but reasonably clean and adequate for our needs. For...

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.

“Request the north side and as high up as possible, end of hall, away from elevators.”

“Rates go up as you do in the choice of room and height in the building. The back of the Village is less noisy than the front which is on a major thouroughfare, nevertheless it is well insulated. Studio suites are more than adequate for the business traveller. Couples may want a one bedroom.”
