Very large older home in area full of interesting large older homes. Parking on site. Shared bathroom with another room. However, huge bathroom kept impeccably clean. Barely noticed my fellow bathroom sharers. Large comfortable room for me. Lovely breakfasts prepared by Habib. Poached eggs tasted and looked superb. Habib very knowledgeable. Lots of information regarding sights, tours, maps, etc. Free...

While not a B&B in the traditional sense, this guest house has a great location for getting around Vancouver and coming and going to YVR. It's about a 3 minute walk from the Broadway/City Hall station, so you can be downtown in 10 minutes, or at the airport in under 30 minutes. If you need/have a car, there is free...

went in to drop off my relatives, "nice heritage house" means narrow ways and micro rooms, smelly old house. if you have trouble with stairs, make sure you are not booking the basement (sold as "ground level"). it's in a quiet street and food is ok.

Lovely heritage home in a suburban street of other lovely homes. Perfect location. Can easily walk into the city across Cambie in about 15 minutes. About 3 minute walk from Broadway Station which is on the Canada Line coming directly from the airport so very convenient. We had the Henry room which was down in the basement with not a...

Booked through booking.com - arrived at residence - took cab from Vancouver Airport - $30 with tip - could take the train but is about a 400 meter walk there from Broadway city centre stop - and not being there before and getting late figured cab was easier - no prior instructions given - no one at the home -...

My idea of a great B&B is a comfortable room, a good breakfast and a welcoming host. The Windsor Guest house had the first two but not the third. We arrived to find a note on the door saying nobody was there and to collect an envelope from the post box which gave us an entry pad code number and...

We have always enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of our B&B hosts, but not this time. We arrived at 2 a.m., having made arrangements to gain entry, only to find the house uninhabited and icy cold. The heating was turned on next day. The reviews we had read had told us how friendly and helpful the host. Leslie, was. Sadly...

Our family lives on Haida Gwaii in Northwestern BC, and we often spend a night in Vancouver when traveling to other destinations. The Windsor House (or Douglas House) is our go-to accommodation. Super easy to get to from the airport - just take the Canada Line Skytrain to the Broadway City Hall Station, and Windsor House is just a 5...

We were going on a cruise to Alaska and wanted to arrive in Vancouver the day before to avoid any travel problems. Arrived the afternoon before and found everything in good order. Bed was nice, internet service, proprietor was fun to talk with. Next morning returned the scooter (see tip) after a great breakfast by the cook at the B&B....

Thanks for this review, it is fun to remember back to the Marathon, we have a saying at Windsor House, those who can RUN,and those who cant, get up and make porridge, and bagels for all the runners, hand out the bandages and lube, and then go out to stand on the corner (in the pouring rain), and cheer for...

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
