Neighbourhood
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.

We booked my son into the hotel as a last minute thing. We were staying at the Exchange and Days Inn was close by. They are at opposite ends of the spectrum even though the room he stayed in was recently renovated. Dark colour scheme which reflects the mood of the hotel. The

Good day aregoli, Thank you for taking the time to provide your review of our hotel. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our refreshed rooms, and to be honest the rooms were not complete during your sons stay due to some unexpected delays. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at the Exchange Hotel, it is a beautiful 4 star property and most hotels being compared to it will be at a disadvantage. Being a 2.5 star hotel there is indeed a contrast between ourselves and a brand new luxury property. We understand that we are not the hotel for all people but we are very happy with upgrades being completed, especially now that new furniture is being installed (I believe the experience would have been different had this been the case during your sons stay). In regards to bed sizes, I would like to assure you that all beds meet the standard measurements and the hotel would never alter a reservation giving a guest a smaller bed size. Once again thank you for your review and we hope that you will continue to use Days Inn for your accommodation needs in the future. Sincerely, Dave Stevens General Manager Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Downtown

Good location and nice bar attached to the hotel which includes a pool table, video games and big screen tvs. Pool table a little overpriced but nice atmosphere in the bar. Food was good and specials on drinks offered.

I would be willing to overlook the carpets that aren't even affixed properly and cause a tripping hazard and the terrible smelling odors as well as the blocked sink and plumbing fixtures that don't work properly if I could actually sleep. However the thumping base and crowd

Not recommended. Hotel in situation on top of a bar that plays music with heavy bass until 3am even on weekdays (I stayed Tuesday night). While the hotel moved me to another room on the opposite side of the building during the night, I could still hear the bass. For a business

Great location in downtown Vancouver to go to consulates the next morning. Was a 5 minute walk to the German consulate. Bathroom was renovated but there were a couple of noticeable things. The fan/light was not mounted properly and had a large opening to the side. Also the

Thank you Ctennert for taking the time to provide your review of our hotel, I am happy to hear that we have you as a loyal customer. I will have maintenance look at the bathroom fan, as for the water pressure and beds I am sorry that you did not fully enjoy either, the hotel being an older property does have some limitations and the shower heads are low flow as well however their should be adequate pressure in all bathrooms, again I will have maintenance look into the issue. Beds are very much a subjective piece, since replacing the mattresses in May we have had a number of compliments, however it is difficult to hit the sweet spot for all guests. In regards to parking our guests now have the option of driving straight to the lot, please call in advance for directions, once at the parking lot guests need only pull a ticket, park and walk 1.5 blocks to the hotel where we will validate your pass. Thank you very much and we look forward to your next stay with us. Sincerely, Dave Stevens General Manager Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Downtown

Is there a charge to use the nearby fitness center?
Good day Drew L, Thank you for your question. As the hotel does not have on site fitness facilities we do provide our guests with a complimentary pass to the YWCA, please inquire at the time of check in. Dave

Our Guest Services Agents would be happy to assist you with booking tours, as others have stated if you are looking for hop on hop off city tours we do have vouchers for discounts, we can also arrange full guided tours with tour companies here in Vancouver. There are several options such as City Highlights which bring you to some of the more prominent attractions and specialized tours like Capilano Suspension Bridge / Grouse Mountain (a favourite of mine), Sea to Sky Gondola tours (Beautiful views of Howe Sound), Whistler(a lot of fun) and Victoria (nothing beats a cruise through the Gulf Islands on a sunny day). We can also arrange whale watching and other harbour tours as well. All is dependent on your time as well, as the City Highlights is the shortest tour approx 4 hours, Capilano/Grouse 5-6 hours and the last 3 are much longer as they take you beyond the city limits. so you would need to plan a full day.

Do you provide transportation from hotel to cruise ship terminal ?
I am sorry but the hotel does not provide Shuttle Services, it is a very short distance to walk and a taxi ride would not be costly and they will drop you off at the cruise entrance.

Our Parking is located just a short walk away from the hotel, as we are a century old building we do not have on site parking, though as others have stated you can park in the passenger zone in front of the hotel to unload and our Guest Services Agents will provide you with a map and directions to the entrance of the parkade which is at Cordova and Howe Street.
