Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, the Hotel Belmont Vancouver MGallery strikes many guests with its stylish and unique atmosphere, featuring quirky decor in well-furnished rooms. While the central location is lauded for its proximity to attractions, some guests have noted that it nudges up against less desirable areas and may be noisy. Although the cleanliness and accommodating staff receive high marks, the value for money comes into question with criticism over high costs and additional fees. Room sizes vary, but cleanliness and comfort are consistently praised.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. We had a Premium corner king room and it was very spacious and came with a lot of amenities ( water bottle, coffee and tea, tablet to control the tv with newspapers and magazine on it). We stayed there during a very cold week so it was quite calm during our stay. I did not witness the line up outside or heard loud music.

The rooms are clean and very well decorated. I will stay again.

My only complain is that there is no heating in the washroom so it quite cold getting in and out of the shower.

Location
Situated on Granville/Nelson Street the Belmont is a good starting point to explore the city of Vancouver. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants are in walking distance and the train station is just a 7-8 min walk up on Granville.

Check in
We arrived a few hours early so our room had not been readied by that time which was not a problem as the hotel provided lugagge storage.
Check in was swift and efficient. Together with the room keys we were also given two coupons for welcome drinks.

The Room
We stayed at room #203. It featured a tiny wardobe with an iron and ironing board inside, a decent size garderobe to hang up the odd coat or shirt, a comfy yet fairly hard bed and a tv. Build into the frame of the bed you will find a drawer and a safe.
On one of the night stands there was a capsular coffee machine and two bottles of water. Beware though, the water is not your standard free-of-charge water but will cost you 3 dollars per bottle.
The bathroom was beautifully arranged with black fittings and nice tiles. A few amenities such as a shower cap and a hair dryer were also provided for.

Staff
Both front office staff and the room maids were very friendly. The room was cleaned to our satisfaction and both coffee and water was restocked.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Belmont. A big plus was the location and friendliness of the staff. On the negative side one should mention the size of the room and the lack of a fridge/mini bar, something one can definitely expect at this kind of property.
Value for money was ok.
Would I recommend staying here? Yes. The location and the overall good standard of the Belmont Hotel makes it a pleasent experience.

The hotel's only been part of Accor for a month, I booked it as a Platinum hoping they might give me a decent upgrade. Understatement! I booked the cheapest room for four nights, and was upgraded to one of their two biggest suites. Thank you to whoever authorised this, I've loved it here! If you're an Accor member with status that grants you upgrades, stop reading now and book this gorgeous hotel immediately (and remember to register for the 4x bonus points offer for new hotels).

The hotel is spotless, not a mark on it. I understand it's a hundred years old, the recent renovation has been exceptional. I genuinely can't find any flaws with the decor, there's not so much as a suitcase scuff anywhere. It's got cute boutique hotel touches, very classy and modern upscale - I adore the textured wallpaper outside the lift, I might buy that for my next home renovation. Bed super comfortable, bathroom small but functional with a cute No Diving shower mosaic floor. And the price of the room, presumably as it's newly opened, is cheaper than just about anywhere downtown. The bargain of the season right now, until reviews like this cause the price to creep up ;-)

In these covid times, there was no noise in the room from the bar attached to the hotel at the weekend, and no noisy parties. There are signs everywhere saying people that make noise will get thrown out. Some reviews seem to suggest this was a problem in the past, noise wasn't an issue at all during my stay.

Location is excellent, in the heart of the Granville Street party strip, and a skip and a jump to the rainbows and unicorns of Davie.

Downsides? Oh that's picking hairs. Charging $3 for a small 50cl bottle of water in the room is frankly beneath them, it leaves a sour note - just comp it. I couldn't really work out how to quieten the bathroom AC noise, though I blanked it out fairly easily. The room could maybe do with somewhere to hang coats, and nowhere really to hang wet towels. But that's really trying to find fault, when really there's none.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thoroughly recommend it. Book it!

After the Airline Westjet cancelled our ( 2 couples in their late 50's) connecting flight we were given this hotel as the overnight accommodation they are mandated to provide . Westjet gave us a voucher which stated on it 1 room for 4 people . I was given repeated assurance by Westjet that the Hotel would give us two rooms . Anyone who has flown with this airline will know that they are charlatans and cannot be trusted. The hotel did not have two rooms and on a Saturday night was full to the brim !!
The staff here were very sympathetic and gave us a suite which comprised of two double beds and a bathroom . Not ideal but after travelling for more that 30 hrs we were grateful for a bed . We found ouselves in a predicament over meeting tours in Calgary the next day and the reception staff were very helpful in allowing me to make some phonecalls to re arrange travel arrangements . I cannot stress how grateful we are to the reception girl and the manager for their help .

We did not have breakfast because we had to be up at 0500 and we crawled into bed at 2230 . The room was small but clean and beds were comfortable . The bathroom was clean and we couldn't really fault the room itself if it was for 1 couple or a couple with young kids.

However at about 2300 the music in the bar below started and didn't stop until aout 0300 . Then there was the noise from outside after that so I got no sleep at all ! If you want to stay here and partake of the music and nightlife until the early hours its great . If you want a good nights sleep forget it !

the good, the bad, and the ugly!! where do i begin? lets start with the good- housekeeping services were still running and our room was cleaned every day despite covid-19 being a factor, i can not thank the housekeepers enough for their hard work! the room was designed by an artist for sure! it was very pretty and nothing I've seen at a hotel before, however...

despite the the room being pretty, for a weeks stay it was lacking basic amenities that could have made our stay more comfortable. for one, we did not have a microwave, this was our biggest issue! no houseman in the evening as well so any time we asked for anything, such as towels before a shower we were told we had to run down to the front desk to pick it up.

It would have been really thoughtful for the GSA to put us in a spacious room while assigning our room for us knowing that we were two people staying for a week sleeping in separate beds. I kindly asked for this while making my booking and was rejected (that should have been the first red flag).

I called the hotel prior to my arrival and asked about their amenities to which the GSA replied "what do you mean?" she failed to tell me that there was a restaurant and i didn't realize this until i was on my way out upon check out. til this day i have no idea if they offer any amenities.

During my stay i had my rental car parked in their lot (which I paid for) and each time I would come back to park my car again, there were no spots in the designated hotel guest spots so I would park in the regular parking spots go up stairs, get ready for bed and then the front desk would make me move my car so it was extremely inconvenient, i can not stress how annoying this was. I was going down in my pyjamas to park my car again and NOT happy about it.

there was one night when i went to grab something from the front desk and this one man who was hanging out with a front desk agent, over heard my conversation about moving my car and started to tell me that the local homeless people can and will break into my car and the hotel will not pay for it if they do, and it happens quite often... he was hanging around the front desk and made an hours worth of useless conversation with me. if he was a skid i'm not sure why the front desk wouldn't kick him out? Especially since he was not wearing a mask and coughing his lungs out saying "i just have asthma"

over all i wasn't too impressed.

Cons:
1. No one to help with baggage. No ramp for suitcases . I alone had to lug 2 huge suitcases and a trolley up a flight of stairs to the lobby from the pavement outside on a chilly February morning.
2. The AC would cool well though a bit loudly and then cut off again loudly and the room would heat up. This would wake me up.
3. The fridge also cutting in and out was quite loud.
4. The phone and desk lamp were not working. But after a couple of messages they got it fixed.

Pro-con
Breakfast was off-property so had to bundle up and walk to the cafe opposite. A very short walk and lovely breakfast at Heirs Pears however made up for the inconvenience.

Pros
1. The front desk staff were super. Very polite, cheerful and helpful. They gave me an early check in that I was very grateful for after a 15 hour flight. They helped me get my bags up to the room as I said I needed help. Check out was also very smooth.
2. Cleanliness was outstanding. Each day I’d come back to a spotless room and the bathroom was also kept pristine.
3. Very conveniently located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants.
4. The biggest star was their honesty - Raoul in particular. He found my phone charger and adapter and left it at the front desk and I was able to pick it up the next day. So very grateful for the honesty policy.
Thank you for a great stay. I would love to stay here again.

We stayed here twice in one month—at the start and end of our trip—and loved the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful, decor is funky, rooms are recently renovated with all mod cons, and the location is close to SkyTrain and walkable to everywhere downtown. Paid overnight parking is available at an adjacent outdoor lot. Because of Covid we were not eating indoors, so did not visit the restaurant/bar. Next time!

I probably wouldn’t stay here again. It’s really cute and trendy but that’s about it. Compared to other hotels, you could get more for the same price. People weren’t kidding when they say the rooms are small. It’s not that BAD but, there is no desk in the room to put any of your electronics or anything.
The bathroom doors also have windows on them? You can’t see right through them but it’s still a little unnerving.
The water in the room is $3.00 which is ridiculous since water is usually free in rooms.
The people here are really kind and nice and accommodating but I would recommend, if you want to visit the hotel, come for the restaurant and nightclub.

The best word to describe this hotel is "quirky". When you step into the shower, you see the words "No diving" printed on the floor. There is a picture of an ostrich burying its head over the toilet. The drawer to store your stuff is under the bed. There is "graffiti" in the entranceway to the restaurant. I was not pleased by the breakfast buffet. I asked if I could get fried eggs and was told the only eggs I could get were the scrambled eggs on the buffet.

If you’re booking this hotel, the potential downsides should be clear (depending on what you’re looking for): It is right on Granville Street on a block of not exactly the world’s most sophisticated looking bars (the place next door had window ads promoting $4 Tequila shots), and probably interrelated the area tends to attract a decent homeless population. Not really a safety concern, but depending on where you’re coming from / familiarity with major cities….something to be aware of. And maybe some of those are upsides for the right party weekend…..but as I was booking it for a family trip, a bit different.
For us on this trip, the price and the location (an event nearby) were right. And having looked at the hotel ahead of time, the rooms also were fairly nice. We paid a slightly upcharge at booking for a larger two bed room, and it was well furnished and stylish. That said - the AC/ventilation was fairly noisy.
Upon staying though some other downsides were clear:
1) Parking - given the area has its challenges, having only outdoor parking on an empty lot next to the hotel seems not ideal. Upon our arrival there were people “hanging out” in the lot, and then the hotel doorman came outside on his own to encourage them to leave. While I wasn’t really worried about the car itself, I did happen to be traveling with a valuable bike in the car. I tried asking for a more secure indoor parking option in the area but the hotel was unable to provide any recommendations; they did however allow me to store the bike inside. Overall though I believe the hotel would be warranted to offer a more secure parking option - valet, partnership with a garage nearby, etc.
2) Breakfast - Breakfast was served in the bar, and we had paid for it as again a slight upcharge (something I would usually never do in North America). It was…not great. Powdered eggs, not exactly fresh bread/pastries, and sausage sort of options - it seemed more like what you’d get at a club lounge for free. Maybe my fault for buying, but probably not worth it.
3) Service at check in and checkout - It seemed like they were training new team members, and the person actually helping me wasn’t really communicating. When asking when the room would be available and being told “later”, without any sort of option or resolution….or when checking out handing them my card, and getting silence and them pecking away on the computer without saying anything….just kind of weird. Even just friendliness and better communication would help.
4) Super minor, but when you give free drink coupons that are only valid to 6 pm on a Sunday night? Like what? Is the time limiting really necessary?
Overall, nothing really wrong with this hotel, and my concerns with parking were a bit unique for this trip, but also nothing really to recommend this place really.

Good day, unfortunately we do not have any shuttle services. There is a subway that we have called the Skytrain. It is CAD$2.95/ person. This ticket is also valid for the public buses. If you have a lot of belongings with you, I would suggest you to take a cab and it should not cost you more that CAD$25 front the Amtrak Station. To the cruise ship terminal it should be more or less CAD$10.
