UBC is located a long way from downtown hotels. Accommodation near or on campus has always been a challenge. Of course, most university accommodations are great for 18 year old first year students -- and terrible for adult travellers. West Coast Suites is a major exception. The rooms are large, well-appointed, with large and comfortable beds and very clean. I... More

I don't know where to start..the hotel is so poorly signed. It has no lighting, come in at night you won't know where to check in. The desk clerk, and I use this term lightly, was so rude it was embarrassing. It seems as those students are running this hotel as some type of an experiment, however I wasn't happy... More

Do ask for a room looking into the courtyard as the outside rooms can be noisy. The rooms are large and the main bed is comfy, with good quality sheets. You are on a very large student campus and right next to a huge student housing complex (Gage Towers) so be prepared to be amongst a young and active population.... More

These suites are right on the UBC campus. The kitchens are well appointed. The bedroom features a king size bed and there is a hide-a-bed if you need it. Parking is an extra $10/night. Stayin on the UBC campus means you have a bit of a drive to get to the rest of Vancouver. This place is ideal if you... More

Our suite had a sitting area, kitchen (no oven), and king sized bed in the bedroom and bath. It was clean and the WiFi worked well except for the need to keep signing in. The kitchen had dishes, water boiler, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans and silverware. We made breakfasts and lunches there. There was no air conditioning which... More

Nice suites, wifi, clean & comfortable. No AC, but we were lucky that the windows opened and it was a good couple days of cooler weather. The suite we had had a kitchen, living room area, bedroom& bathroom. It was a very comfortable, homey stay!

Great clean spot for the price. If there was one downside, it was the double bed (we are used to sleeping in a King) but the location & amenities (full fridge, stove, dishwasher, desk etc) made up for the smaller bed. Worth checking out.

After 3 nights in crappy hotels, this was a welcome change. If you look up that (overused) phrase "urban chic" in the dictionary, this would be the picture. Clean, sleek, well-designed and well-equipped. (That adorable little dishwasher made me squeal like a school girl.) No a/c which worried me, but with the windows open even on a warm July day,... I wasn't expecting much especially for the price. Well I am impressed and I do like nice Hotels. The rooms here are suites. Bedroom, Living Room, Kitchen & Bathroom. The suites are very nicely decorated, the towels are good as are the products. Housekeeping do a great job in keeping the rooms clean every day. Try and get a room... More

If you have business on campus this is a convenient solution. The suite was nicely appointed, separate bedroom with large, very comfortable king bed. Kitchenette was handy, however there is nothing within walking distance to pick up snacks or food and no restaurants in the vicinity. Taxis are expensive going into town and back every day, so renting a car... More
