Have stayed at Sutton Hotel before but never the La Grande Residence which is attached to Sutton Hotel. Our suite which is described as a Modern Suite was a wonderful well appointed one bedroom apartment. Recently renovated, it provided us very comfortable lodgings during our 3 day stay in Vancouver. The suite has a full kitchen, dining room and sitting...

Our party of three stayed here in August in a two bedroom unit so we had a lot of space. We basically paid for a hotel room but got a spacious and clean condo in the heart of the city. Atmosphere and service was excellent here. The location is very convenient: walkable to many attractions, a good grocery store across...

We are a family of 4, with two children ages 7 and 10. This hotel is not only centrally located, but the staff and service were fantastic. We have stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac and The Waldorf Astoria in NYC and were equally impressed by this hotel. We had the privilege of staying in a 2 bedroom suite. What...

We are a family of four who stayed here for four nights in August before an Alaska cruise. The location was excellent and easy to walk to everything. There is a grocery across the street which is very convenient. We booked a two bedroom modern, updated apartment. Upon check in, I noticed the dishwasher was filled with dishes (clean, but...

We stayed at La Grande Residence at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver for 2 nights left for one and returned for another 1 night stay. The suite was lovely, modern kitchen, great beds, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms. They have laundry facilities on site and an IGA across the street, so we ate most meals in the room. This helped...

The modern design suites at the Sutton Place La Residence are awesome and well thought out. It was spacious, the view from the balcony was amazing...the downtown skyscape. Burrard is one of the busiest streets and people are everywhere walking in the evening. The friendly staff made me smile every day. The food in their restaurant was amazing...a little on...

Centrally located to everything. Close to cruise ship dock, we could have walked but we had a lot of luggage with four of us. The room was beautiful, comfortable bed, big clean bathroom, great shower! We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was great.

We stayed two nights at the Sutton Place. The location of the hotel was great. It was only one block from Robson Street and only a 15 minute walk to the Canada Place. The service was good but the only not-so-good impression was the room. It needs to be updated. The cover for the hotel directory on the desk was...

Our first trip out West...we Booked in a two bedroom suite for a family trip. Door men always greeted us. Nice lobby and restaurant which served a lovely breakfast.. Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
