Good location. Noisy bar and lounge. The corridors and the stairway seemed spooky. Room was so - so (I stayed in a two - bunk dorm room, but had the room to myself). The shower took a long time to warm up (Note: I went there during the winter season). No elevator!!! I had two big trolleys with me, and...

BED BUGS!! Room 211. Place was like a prison cell. Dirty and dingy. The staff are friendly and put me in a different room when I realized there was bed bugs. Bar is great and location. Very noisy though. Won't be coming back.

I stayed here for a week in total, originally booking for just 2 nights. I fell in love with the city and also found the hostel to be very welcoming. I had no issues with cleanliness of the bedrooms or facilities, in fact bed linen seemed to be changed every other day. No major issues with facilities, key and towel...

We were looking for a place to spend the night, ideally near the main street. My girlfriend and I are used to hostels, cheap hostels, and any other place that are not expensive, as we often travel a lot to Vancouver, yet don't want to spend too much on a room. We found this one.... So we arrived, the lady...

We stayed 2 nights in the Cambie Seymour and had a terrible time. The hostel is situated above a bar and club which means music and people yelling all night long. The general feeling of the hostel was very sad. The private room and bathrooms were as clean as what you would get in a hostel - but the worst...

Sorry, I quite liked some aspects of the hostel, but I have to say terrible as I got bitten to pieces by bedbugs staying here. Horrible night, hardly slept, and I'm now covered in 20+ itchy bites. You could see the damn things, and the bed also smelled pretty bad, so I'd question the cleanliness. They wouldn't refund my first...

Booked a double room, turned up and they had double booked our room. Was offered two single rooms, with no other choice of accommodation we begrudgingly agreed. Went up to room (only after faulty ket had been changed three times!) there was bags of rubbish blocking us even getting to our room with our heavy luggage once we arrived at...

The position is amazing (downtown, one block from the tower) and the price is good (if you get a membership card for 10$, you have a 3$ discount per night). But from thursdays to sundays it's reeeeally hard to sleep! With the karaoke and all the other stuff, because the malone's pub is just downstairs (and it seems like a...

Hotels(dot)com declined to publish our review - which fully obeyed their guidelines - and have not offered any explanation for it. Kind of suspect, in our view. Especially since we didn't totally trash the hostel - just warned that it comes with lots of caveats. Basically, if all you care about is the price (and the location) then Cambie Seymour...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
