This was our first stay at The Loden. My girlfriend recommended the property stating that it was the 'little' things that they do that make each guest feel special and valued. She also loves the earthy contemporary furnishings and design. We enjoyed the very hospitable staff and the chocolates and water delivered with the turn down service. The staff learned...

My friend and I stayed at the Loden for a night on Jan 31st. The woman at the front desk was very unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. Not what you expect at a hotel of this class. The bellman and the engineer were wonderful though! Amazing customer service by those two. The bellman told us the loden offered a...

Dear Stephanie M, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us on tripadvisor, please accept my sincere apologies if we did not make you feel welcome and special. We are proud to offer our Loden car drop off to in house guests and the service you received does not reflect our expectations. Your feedback is certainly...

Great staff, location and rooms. The restaurant attached is barely ok and loud - no acoustical treatment - so if you want to have a conversation with a nice dinner, go to the Blue Water Bistro instead.

The rooms in this hotel are fairly standard but it's the unique touches which make this a nice boutique option in an area swimming with chain hotels. We used the hotel's free hire bikes to explore Stanley Park and the Vancouver waterfront which was really good fun, and the London taxi, which is free and drops guests anywhere around downtown....

Nice location off from the super busy part of town, but easy walking distance at the same time. Staff were great. Valet park and retrieval quick and no hassle. Small restaurant attached, had simple buffet breakfast, and you can order wraps. Only disappointment was no coffee or tea making in room, and if they had that, I would have given...

Easy access by public transportation. We caught the train from Edmonds, Washington. The SkyTrain station was a short walk from Pacific Central Station and was free - not sure if it is free every weekend. We got off at the Burrard Station (3 stops) and had to walk about 3 blocks. The room was reasonably spacious (for two), very clean...

Their motto is "Central. Quiet. Beautiful" and they live up to it, and more. Right in downtown and easy walk to everything, but quiet indeed, and beautifully appointed rooms and baths. Staff is friendly, helpful, and beautiful. One desk clerk told me his favorite local place to eat, and it really was a locals-only kind of place with great food....

Put on a 2 day meeting with a small group of 4. Lowden did an outstanding job of catering to the meeting, the small meeting room was excellent - all the Vedio links worked very well for PC or Mac and they were very helpful and food served in the room was excellent. Also put up my guest at the...

Our weekend at the Loden was a double-whammy of working a wedding (as videographers) and simultaneously celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. This was our third stay at the Loden Hotel and each time has been splashed with gracious hosts and exceptional service. We took advantage of the British-style Loden taxi while seeking a lift to (and from!) a Gastown brunch spot:...

We stay at the Loden whenever we travel to Vancouver for business or pleasure. And, we are never disappointed. First, we love the location... close to everything but a block or two off the noise and the hustle of the city. Second, it is chic, small and beautifully detailed... right from the lobby to the rooms themselves. Third, but not...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
