I booked this place on the recommendation of a friend. I had never heard of it before, or even knew it existed! But what a find! You won't find a pool here, or any fancy bars or restaurants. But you do get, is amazing! We got there super early, knowing that our room would most likely not be ready. We...

We stayed at the Surf in April 2016. It is an older Motel with so much character. All the suites have an ocean view and I believe a kitchenette. They are immaculately clean and cozy. The Motel is within walking distance of downtown Victoria (about 1.5kms). The rates are so reasonable too. Loved it and we are going back next...

We have been coming from Alberta for a "fix of greenery" for over 9 years now. In Victoria, the Surf Motel has always been our first choice. It is privately owned with pride. It has kept it's retro feel in a spotless manner and offers an ocean view that can't be matched. It is well managed by Leslie, who exudes...

Once again we enjoyed our stay here in this cosy place ,this time on the top floor with a magnificent view of the Juan de Fuca Straits , and all the joggers and walkers with their people going by- rain or shine.. As before Leslie and her staff gave us caring attention with clean linens and regular cleaning , and...

This small family owned motel/hotel near the heart of Victoria's tourist district has a lot to like. It is a fully restored 60's era hotel with the 60's feel maintained. It has a functional little kitchenette for the cost conscious. The views are straight out across the strait to the Olympic Mountains and are gorgeous. The staff is very friendly...

Room and linens spotlessly clean, bed comfortable, and a fully stocked kitchenette. Although the easy chairs were a little worn, they were comfortable and clean. The view of the ocean and breakwater was spectacular and it was particularly wonderful to be able to have the balcony door open for the fresh air and the sound of the waves. The owners/staff...

The Surf is a vintage 60s/70s style motel with kitchenettes (tiny) and drop-dead views out towards the Strait and Olympics. It was the first place I stayed in Victoria, and I wound up choosing to return (long-term) in that same neighborhood. It's a block from where the cruise ships dock, and abutting a seaside park with walkway that's a dream...

We drove by on numerous occasions and kept saying, "We have to stay there sometime." Well, we booked 5 nights at the beginning of Oct. All the rooms face the ocean and is right across Dallas Road and Ogden Point in James Bay. Cute rooms with a Kitchen. Very, very clean, excellent rates and the staff are SO nice and...
