Aside from the obvious, a lovely mineral pool and two whirlpool spas perched on the cliffs of Oak Bay with views to the extraordinary, the stand out at Oak Bay Beach Hotel is the the service. From the Ambassador’s greeting at your car, to the front desk, to the exceptional service in The Dining Room, The Snug, Faro’s, and the mineral pools, the consistency of top level service at this hotel is unparalleled. Every member of the staff greeted you with such sincere warmth that you cannot help but feel appreciated and welcome. And that, on top of some of the best food one could possibly enjoy in one location - albeit three restaurants. We had expectations when we chose Oak Bay Beach Hotel - clearly they have a goal of exceeding expectations at every turn. They did that well!
After a wonderful two nights stay, there is not doubt as to why the hotel is so highly rated in Canada and globally. It has been the best experience I’ve had at a hotel of this calibre. Everyone on staff who we engaged with was friendly, helpful and competent. Exceptional and friendly service without pretension. The food in both The Snug pub and the Dining Room is outstanding. The rooms are well appointed and gloriously comfortable beds. We spent almost two full hours in the mineral pools which was a treat after a crisp morning waterfront run. Highly recommend staying here!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel last week. The staff were welcoming, friendly and professional, especially Dillon Carfoot, Chef Concierge. Our 2nd floor room was comfortable, cozy and quiet. There were events in the David Foster Theater both Friday & Saturday nights but the music ended at 11:00 pm which we thought was reasonable. The hotel was doing a refresh of the Snug Pub so it was temporarily relocated to the main lobby area during our stay. We did have the opportunity to have breakfast by the window one morning which was lovely. An easy walk to downtown Oak Bay, we enjoyed visiting the local shops and services in town, as well as the prime location allows for both residential or beach walks from right out the front door of the hotel. We did miss the free shuttle to downtown Victoria, hopefully that will be up and running again soon. Guests have unlimited use of the mineral pools and we took full advantage of that. We also enjoyed a couples massage at the Boathouse Spa one day (fantastic deep tissue by Mary & Heather). It does get noticeably busier on the weekends with groups of guests using the spa. We will continue to return to Oak Bay Beach Hotel in the future.…
A little out of the way, but that could be a good thing! It is a relaxing spa resort after all. The fireplace, heated bathroom floors, and in room tub were awesome. The mineral pools and spas were a unique experience, with a view of the water! You will love it here :)
The best hotel I have ever stayed in. Rooms where large bright and airy well equipped we had a fantastic view from our balcony. The hot tubs and spa swimming pool were brilliant as were the robes and towels we had. The restaurants were good and a good choice of things on the menu. Staff were brilliant and could not do enough for you. The freebies in the bedroom were great the hand sanitizer smelt fantastic and the face mask was good. Would go there again in a heart beat. Loved the whole island.
The Oak Bay Beach Hotel never disappoints. From check in to check out its perfection at its finest. Love the bath tub that opens up to our room, cozy fireplace, the bed and pillow are like sleeping on a cloud. This is our 5th time staying here, and we will be back again soon. Had a couples spa, and it was beyond fantastic. We had dinner and breakfast in the Snug, I highly recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes ( Delish ). The dinner was equally as good. The service is impeccable, they are very attentive to your needs. The pool was fabulous, and an extra perk was pool side service in Oct for drinks delivered to your deck chair. Can hardly wait for our next weekend away at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel.
We booked online, turns out it was a ‘third’ party, we booked a room for our pupper to come with us. Once arriving, we were told the room did not allow dogs. So we were forced to upgrade to a room that was $200 more a night, as these are the only rooms that allow dogs. Room/View was amazing! Very very windy so the pools were closed. We enjoyed room service, went to The Snug for drinks later in the evening, all lovely the Winter Citrus drink was incredible! The crab cakes were the best I have ever had. We enjoyed the tub in the room, though we could not get the tub to drain. We did spill water, dropped dog water dish, upon cleaning it with the closest towel, the towel was absolutely filthy, we did not wear our shoes in the room, thank gawd we didn’t have white socks on. As well there was dog poop, had been there for some time, in our patio. We sent an email telling them the above, we received a phone call from hotel stating they do a deep clean once a month!? Whaaaaat??? Washing the floor is ‘deep cleaning’?! They refunded us $200 for cleanliness issues.…
My niece and I just spent an overnight At the Oak Bay Beach Hotel and it was just superb. We had a very enjoyable room with a magnificent view. We spent a whole afternoon at the spa which left us feeling relaxed and happy. The Faro is the best pizza we ever ate and the salads are gorgeous. We had breakfast at the pub. The mineral pools are delightful. The staff bends backwards to make your stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel. It’s the place to be.
This hotel is incredible. Food is excellent in both restaurants, lobby, hotel rooms and spa are so beautiful. Pool and hot tubs near the ocean are amazing. Landscaping and design outside hotel leading down to ocean is very well thought out. Plenty of free parking underground.
We really enjoyed our stay at Oak Bay Beach Hotel. We were going to stay here for our honeymoon a few years ago but there was a change of plan. This hotel has stayed on my radar since then and I am so pleased we finally stayed here. Everything was well-thought out, and more than once I was reminded of "Our Best" that the hotel prides itself on. Room: we saved some money by booking a residential view instead of ocean view as we were mostly going to be in our room after dark anyway and we planned to use the pools. The room was very nice, well decorated, with seating areas - this is a big thing for me, like, I don't want to just sit on a bed the whole time I'm staying somewhere, though the bed was definitely comfortable - and there was a kitchenette even though we weren't in a suite. There was a small balcony, which I'm sure would be great in an ocean view room, but we didn't use it due to privacy as our room was facing the hotel's entrance. Pools: Everything was great at the hotel, but the pools are a definite highlight. I usually like to be out exploring all day when I'm on vacation, but made an exception here and blocked off an afternoon just to lounge and use the pools. They had great views of the ocean. It was busy, but we were able to get seats and have a few drinks. It was sunny out and the temperature was above-seasonal; it was the perfect use of such a beautiful day. Staff: The staff here were great, Everyone we interacted with was professional and pleasant. We were on a two-week trip with only carry-on bags, so had to be selective in what clothes we packed - we didn't look like our best, but we were never treated as less-than. The hotel called the night before to ask when we expected to check-in to ensure our room would be ready. We ended up arriving a bit earlier than we said and the gentleman at the desk was very apologetic that our room wasn't ready, obviously not their fault as we were early, and was able to put us into a different room. We also booked the car service to go to dinner downtown. The concierge who drove us, Thomas, was phenomenal, a true asset to the team for sure. We did not eat here as we had so many other restaurants that we wanted to try in Victoria, but I do wish that we could have at least gone for "Aperitivo Hour" at Faro. Next time!…
