We really enjoyed our stay in this historical building. The house is furnished with antiques, including the beautiful breakfast room and the lounge. We stayed in one of the small rooms which was already quite large and well furnished, including a huge hot tub. We enjoyed the breakfast served in two courses. The location is in easy walking distance to the city center, parking is provided on premise.

Pros - Great location, within an easy walk to most things. Loved the ambience, complimentary sherry and chess: free car park and nice quiet area.
Cons - Our room the 'Veranda' was looking a little tired, the mattress was uncomfy and a blackout blind was missing from the window overlooking the bed. The breakfast was so slow, we'd been sat there for 30mins before even being offered a morning drink. When it did come it was tasty, but v small portions and again a lot of time between the two courses. On our second day, we had to ask for it to be boxed as we knew we'd miss our ferry, but we still had to wait quite a while for this.

Beautiful "step in time" to the Edwardian era Bed & Breakfast. You truly feel transported back and the place will leave you pleasantly surprised.
The rooms are ensuite and spacious and with a fire place. You can spend time in the library sipping a glass of sherry and enjoying the peace and quite of books or play a game of chess or backgammon. Breakfast is served in the veranda/conservatory and is different every day and so delicious. Very filling.
It is definately to try at least once if you want something different.
The only thing that was missing for us is a good cup of tea. Although the room has a kettle there was only green tea and earl grey available but no milk or sugar.

I was so excited to arrive at Beaconsfield. The reviews were glowing. The location is amazing - walking distance to everything. I booked the smallest unit. The first tour was like walking into a small Downton Abbey. Jenny and Siu were just wonderful and attentive to any concerns. It was a little chilly at first, and they promptly turned the heat up. I couldn't give it 5 stars, however, because the room is seriously in need of renavation. As another guest said, the carpets should be replaced, the curtains should be taken down and washed, and perhaps opaque curtains put in the spacious bathroom. They were semi sheer, and even though generously gathered, I just felt exposed at night. The dust made it difficult to breathe. It's a spectacular looking room and the old fashioned ambience is terrific. But the dust made for a pretty uncomfortable stay. There are other bigger suites in the Inn and perhaps they don't have the same problem.

The Inn is in an older house, beautifully decorated with antiques, and the main floor is open to all guests. Each room is different, and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely- the menu on our day was yogurt, muffin and eggs benedict with smoked salmon and avocado. Orange juice and tea/coffee were also offered.

We loved it...stayed in the Emily Carr room. Beautiful architecture and although it's a bit dark, it really made you feel like you were saying at the queen's house. There were a few minor glitches like no milk/sugar in the room, but we asked and received those right away. Breakfasts were nice and fresh. There isn't air conditioning, but the fans provided were more than adequate for the time we visited (Aug 20-22, 2022). Martin (one of the staff was amazing and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely go back!

We have not been back to this wonderful inn for many years. I am so grateful we came back. Lots of spacious parking, best breakfast room and library for tea/coffee and snack. I always pretend that this beautiful older but well maintained house is my home. We always end up meeting other customers to talk to, interesting to meet others. From a WW2 veteran gentleman to almost neighbours. We had two delicious breakfasts, the most delicious pumpkin quiche. Came home and googled pumpkin quiche recipes. Thank you Alice and Martin for taking such care to make sure our stay was peaceful and pampered. Alice, I did notice you used different patterns for each morning.

One of the best B and B's ever. Wonderfully accommodating, great breakfast, and located within walking distance to town, a great park and a great little hamlet nearby. The room was spacious and comfy and the bathrobes were the softest ever.

My wife and I stayed one night in the Emily Carr suite.
Absolutely loved it. So spacious, fireplace was great, and the bed - the most comfortable we have ever slept in.(We do a fair bit of travelling and also have time shares, but this bed beat them all.)
Breakfast was very tasty and the server very nice and polite.
Next time we will stay in the Parlour suite (HUGE king sized bed.)
Our time here was very enjoyable.

Garden suite might be called dungeon suite in terms of the amount of light . Despite its ample size, there was nowhere to comfortably sit and read. Bed was comfortable but things were generally tired and worn along with a faintly moldy smell. This old inn has its historical charm but we did not find it cozy. Nice variety and presentation for breakfast and gluten free options were appreciated. It would have been nice to have a coffee station and daily housekeeping but assume this was absent because of covid .

Yes it is about 10-15 minutes easy walk from Inner Harbour. Unsure where Kenmore lands but if same as Harbour Air maybe 8-10 minutes more.

The innkeepers provided the password. I don't remember it and doubt it would be appropriate to provide it if I did.
