Although downtown Victoria was not exactly party central because a lot of businesses/retail shops/restaurants closed early, the Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel was a hotel to enjoy. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and made you feel like an important guest. The rooms were very comfortable, especially the beds. Cool feature was the instant call to the local taxi company with the press of a button. Would definitely book here again if I find myself in downtown Victoria!

Superior staff; very friendly and helpful, clean room with very comfortable beds. Walking distance to museum, Parliament buildings, Harbour, Government St shopping so much more. A must is breakfast at the Ruby, so delicious.

Wonderful hotel. Staff were kind to my special-needs daughter. Located right downtown, so if downtown is your primary destination, there is no need to rent a vehicle. Great neighbourhood. Lots of nightlife.

I needed a room for one night between a cruise and a flight and this worked out perfectly, they told me how to get to the bus to the airport and that they didn’t believe that the shuttle was running any more

We had a junior suite with two queen beds and a queen pull out sofa, along with a small kitchen. My mother, her part time caretaker, and myself. So we were able to be in one room and everyone have their own bed. The pull out was comfortable. We were placed between the elevators which helps with my mom so either one was close. Park the car leave the front desk you keys and they took care of the car. Give them 15 minute notice and the car was out front waiting for us. Just pick up the key at the front desk. Loved the location it was easy to get around. Probably the cleanest hotel I have been in, in the past 20 years.

With the exception of 2020- 21, my mum and I have been returning to the Best Western Carlton Plaza for over 15 years, usually for a 2-night visit. The hotel is centrally located and close to so much, from dining to shopping. The location also makes it easy for my mother to go back during the day should she need rest. The rooms are comfortable; we have experienced many of the hotel’s different types of rooms over the years. We didn’t have a microwave this time. The single cup Keurig coffeemaker was new. The refrigerator was of a nice size and worked well. The room # rang a bell when we checked in, but I couldn’t remember why until our second night: we were above the nightclub and it was hopping 😒. Other than that, just put in earplugs and all will be well. The hotel itself *is* generally quiet. I have found the staff to always be kind and helpful; this year was no different. Staff wore masks. We also wore ours in the common areas as encouraged. It was good to return to The Ruby as well. We had brunch on one of the mornings. Looking forward to our next visit!

I came to Victoria with a friend to enjoy some days off work, and the Best Western totally made it worth it! The hotel is in such a great location that we were able to go do things in the morning like bike Beacon Hill park, come back to the hotel by lunch to change and relax, then head out for more fun like shopping or walking fisherman’s wharf. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfy. Staff made it feel very welcoming and made it easy to reach out to them if we had questions or needed anything. Would’ve been amazing if there was a complimentary breakfast but we are still big fans! We don’t want to go home.

Stayed for 2 nights at Bestwestern Carlton Plaza in Victoria, BC. Loved their location! Close to the city's points of interest, lots of dining options nearby and they also have their own brunch resto, The Ruby. Our room in the 5th floor was clean and quiet. They closed the elevator in front of our room between 11pm to 7am so it was quiet all through the night. I've started staying in Bestwestern properties so this one was great and comparable to the ones in Quebec and Montreal. Will definitely stay again next time we're in Victoria again.

The service at from initial booking to check out as excellent. My booking initially had some questions which I called the call center service. They answered it in very helpful ways which led to me staying at the location. The room itself was a bit small but had everything I needed and advertised. Toilet was tiny as well as bathroom. Room cleaning and towel service is on demand due to company being more eco friendly. There was no delay in getting towel service if needed. The customer service was excellent. I had questions on bus schedule and it was answered very well and really helped me to to where I need to go on time. When I checked out I left a personal item and got a text message form the hotel. This is something I would never expect from a hotel in my city. The location is a bit negative due to being next to street where the homeless lives on the street. Make it a challenge to to go out after 5PM. Some of homeless are clearly mentally ill. Screaming for no reason. As a visitor for pleasure I may chose the Best Western near the harbor instead and pay the extra cost.
