Always enjoy staying right in the heart of Victoria at the Best Western Carlton hotel, so close to many amenities. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable of the area and go out of their way to make guests comfortable. My latest trip I encountered vehicle problems with a flat tire, which our hotel staff assisted in getting repaired. They went out of their way to fix the problem and make my trip less stressful. Great hotel, wonderful staff and accommodations are perfect.

This hotel is right downtown and within walking distance to so many things. We had a great stay and would stay again. Rooms were so roomy, so great to stretch out after long days of walking and sight seeing. We had a kitchenette which included a large fridge! Our room faced the back of the hotel and had minimal noise. My parents room faced street side and it was a bit noisier. If you are a light sleeper, request a room on the backside. Room was very clean and newly renovated. Bedding and towels were very clean. Keurig coffee maker in room as well as service for 4 with a kettle and toaster as well. Shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and lotion were all in larger bottles hanging from the wall. There isn't any breakfast offered but there is a restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The only negative we could find with this room was that the air/heat was super noisy and clunky. We turned it off at night so that we could sleep.

My stay here in January was great! I came for a week long yoga course, which was right around the corner from this hotel (great location!). Walking distance to so many good restaurants and coffee shops, and of course the yoga studio I was training at. It would have been nice to have room service available in the hotel for breakfast while I was getting ready each morning, but I skipped breakfast instead. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were always checking in to make sure my stay was good. The only two downsides to my stay were that they were finishing up construction in the front lobby for most of my stay which meant that we had to keep going in and out of the little side door and part of the front lobby was barricaded, you could also hear some noise during the day; and second, the heater/air conditioner in the bedroom is noisy when it kicks on and off which meant not good sleeps for me. I very much recommend this hotel still because of the great location, great service, and great price. The beds were also very comfy and the room is very quiet when the heater is off.

The service at from initial booking to check out as excellent. My booking initially had some questions which I called the call center service. They answered it in very helpful ways which led to me staying at the location. The room itself was a bit small but had everything I needed and advertised. Toilet was tiny as well as bathroom. Room cleaning and towel service is on demand due to company being more eco friendly. There was no delay in getting towel service if needed. The customer service was excellent. I had questions on bus schedule and it was answered very well and really helped me to to where I need to go on time. When I checked out I left a personal item and got a text message form the hotel. This is something I would never expect from a hotel in my city. The location is a bit negative due to being next to street where the homeless lives on the street. Make it a challenge to to go out after 5PM. Some of homeless are clearly mentally ill. Screaming for no reason. As a visitor for pleasure I may chose the Best Western near the harbor instead and pay the extra cost.

Certainly the entire city, if not the entire west coast of North America has its challenges with the unhoused population, many of which are mentally ill. That said, they appear a bit more concerning than reality. As someone that lives, works and plays in the downtown area, I do not feel it is a safety concern.

Stayed here for four nights and had a great stay. The location is very central and thus easy to walk to not only anywhere downtown, but even some of the other neighbourhoods like James Bay and Rockland. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and the room was comfortable and had everything we need for a relaxing stay. Unfortunately the only parking option is the pricey valet option but given the premium downtown location, I suppose somewhat understandable. Overall had a great stay.

Thank you Equinox for such kind comments about our wonderful team. Victoria is an incredibly walkable, bikeable city and we are as centrally located as one can be. As we are set in an urban setting, our convenient valet service at a rate of $25 per night. There are less costly option nearby, but they come with the discomfort of navigating busy streets. When on vacation or navigating business meeting, we find our guests appreciate the ease of a valet service.

Located only a 10-minute walk from most restaurants, bars, and attractions in the harbour area was the reason we chose to stay here. The attentive staff, clean rooms, and classy appearance of the hotel itself is why we will go back. The valet service (extra fee) was particularly appreciated, as parking in this part of Victoria can be tricky, especially at the height of tourist season. This would have been a 5-star review if we didn't wake up early each day to (presumably) garbage trucks or delivery vehicles outside our window. The location of our room (west side of the building, lower floor) probably contributed to this more than anything else. A higher floor, or one on the south or north sides (which is the majority of the hotel) would likely result in quieter mornings.

We stayed at this hotel with 2 rooms with another family. Rooms were clean and nice bonus to have a window that could open! We found no issues with housekeeping and the hotel was implementing full Covid19 measures. Central as it's right downtown close to everything. Valet parking is offered but I would comment that the valet parking spot is not at the hotel. You can drop the car off close to the front however there is a bit of a wait to get it back. Staff are very accommodating and polite. No dinner option available at restaurant at the hotel; breakfast and lunch only

Thank you Kosmo for such a kind response. Being the most urban location of Vancouver Island, we are happy to take stress out of driving by including our valet service. We park cars in one of two locations - both gated overnight. We have a small lot right around the corner of the hotel, however most vehicles are parked one block away. Due to the one way streets, and the location the car may be parked in, retrieval takes between 1 minute and 15 minutes. We always ask for the latter to be safe. Guest can conveniently request for their car by dialing 0 on their room phone, texting us through our concierge service, or pre scheduling the vehicle. Chris Watson General Manager

We booked our stay via Clipper Vacations and honestly could not be happier with our choice. The hotel is very nice, updated, and the service has been impeccable. I cannot believe the level of service and quality we’ve received for the price paid, but it’s certainly a great value. The location is also very convenient and centrally located near food, entertainment, shopping, etc. For anyone looking to stay somewhere for a reasonable price where quality is not sacrificed, look no further.

Our room was clean and well spaced. We mentioned that it was our anniversary and the front desk brought us up a complimentary bottle of wine and some macarons. We were worried about the location as it has been a bit sketchy lately downtown Victoria but we were pleasantly surprised. The shower had great water pressure too.

Booked via BW for about 125$ per night (tax included) for 4 nights.
Arrived very late (1h30AM) and check in was smooth and friendly. Was provide a room on 4th floor, with 2 double beds, fully appointed kitchenette with stove and fridge, microwave, toaster, keurig coffee maker (got pods everyday). sofa, big LCD TV (which i plugged my Roku in), good wifi....a super room for a longer stay.
Did some shopping at nearby market, and got bread, margarine, and other goodies, which i prepared for breakfast in my kitchenette. There are plenty of dining options nearby and this place is close to Chinatown and to some good craft beer places.
I rented a e-bike and stored it in my room; they do have bike racks in the garage, but felt it was safer to bring bike in room. Did not use parking.
There is a small gym on premise with decent equipment and weights.
A real good place!

Rubys...but open at breakfast time...not open all the time.,,not part of the hotel service (ie; no room service).....good breakfast, very nice staff. Fortunately, there are a dozen decent places within a 5 minute walk
