The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Victoria garners mixed feedback, with many guests lauding its prime location near attractions and transit, as well as the welcoming atmosphere and modern suites equipped with amenities like USB ports. However, some travelers report dissatisfaction with small, dated rooms and unexpected charges, which detract from the overall value. While the hotel's cleanliness and service receive high marks, noise levels vary, with construction and street noise being disruptive for some guests.

Excellent stay! Check in was a breeze. Great location. Local transit right out the door and day pass only $5 Was clean, comfortable. Microwave and mini fridge. No charge safe in room. Stocked coffeemaker with tea. Bottled water provided. Large toiletries provided. Front desk staff were great. Would definitely stay here again. TRUE….construction right next door and they start at 7 am sharp and is all quiet at 5 pm. Construction did not bother us. Very pleased with our visit

I would expect this place to be pretty packed in most summer but I guess we are living in an uncertain time. It was very quiet, we didn’t meet any other guest during our five nights stay. There staffing is also minimal.

We stayed here end of July for a working trip. The BC resident rate was reasonable (probably due to reduced service) so we decided to book here instead of our usual private condo. Reservation via hilton honours app was fast and easy. The digital key didn’t work so the check in was not contactless. Other than that it was efficient and fast.

Room was clean, and spacious, looking out to the condo on the city side. There is microwave and fridge in the room. No room service and no daily routine cleaning - but if you arrange a time they will come up to clean it and replace towel, toiletries etc. So we asked for room cleaning once over a five nights stay. No valet parking which is easier for us as we needed our car every morning at 630am to travel to work.

Air conditioning wasn’t that powerful as the weather was very hot during three of the five days. That was a slight disappointment as the air conditioning was our main reason choosing a hotel over a condo for this business trip.

The location can not be more perfect, walking distance to many places, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We are very impressed with the independent book stores in victoria in particular.

Overall, a pleasant and quiet stay for a business trip.

My wife and I stayed at this location right at the beginning of the pandemic when things were still uncertain and changing by the minute. As fate would have it, the conference we were supposed to attend was canceled the day after we arrived. The staff at this location were so incredibly accommodating with everybody's shifting schedules and while I'm sure they were exhausted, you certainly couldn't tell. On top of the rooms being immaculate and spacious, the hotel was in very quick order adjusting to new health and safety guidance like adding hand sanitizing stations and adjusting meal service. I am so grateful for the phenomenal hospitality and will be staying here again. COVID-aside, the location is amazing and is within walking distance of everything in downtown Victoria.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a friendly smile and a young woman that could not do enough to make us feel comfortable I knew I was in the right place. My husband and I were on a vacation during Covid and I wanted to be clean and safe. The first thing she did was upgrade us to a higher floor which was exciting because I wanted to see the beautiful city. We arrived in our room and the bed was cosy comfortable. High-quality linens and pillows, and a view to die for. The room was spotless and immaculate and I received a text quickly from the young lady at the front desk asking us if there was anything that she could do for us and how did we like our room. I replied that we were so impressed and thank you very much. The next morning we were having breakfast and I received another text asking if there was anything she could do if we needed fresh linens etc. because we had opted not to have housekeeping due to Covid. I replied that we did need some new linens she said she would have them waiting at the front desk along with fresh coffee to re-supply the room. We had such a lovely vacation and felt extremely comfortable and safe in our room, I never wanted to go home. I’ve posted a picture of the view from our room.

We stayed three nights in a King View Room through a BC Ferries package which was an amazing value.

The hotel was clean, friendly, close to amenities and tourist attractions. The room we stayed in was very attractive and clean, the bed was comfortable, the linens and pillows were of a high standard. A small balcony allowed some fresh air, or a step out to take photos without glass in the way. We were on the 14th floor and could still hear the traffic noise so we would always aim for a higher room.

If you have a King room, the bathroom is tinier than most, but the large shower is excellent as is the quality of the soaps, shampoo, lotion, etc.

The glasses provided in the room are heavy and cheap so bring your own, if wine glasses are important to you. We bought some for our three days.

Be prepared to hand your keys to a valet to park your car throughout your stay, but the lot is very close to the front door.

A new Starbucks with ample seating and a fireplace is attached to the hotel foyer. There is also a breakfast room down one level which also provides free tea and coffee to guests and a pub at street level if pub food is your thing. We had a couple of delicious Victoria brewed pints and a not so delicious appy, but we’d give the restaurant another chance on our next visit.

All in all, we would stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it, as there were only very minor criticisms.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Doubletree in Victoria for a number of reasons:

• Location: The hotel is located in a convenient location to walk to many things in Victoria. Some of the rooms face west and so you get to watch nice sunsets from your room, as we did. It is very easy to find free and cheap street parking.
• Room: The room itself was spacious, clean, well equipped, good soundproofing. We also had nice balcony with windows that opened (primary reason we chose it over the Marriott which has not been renovated in a loooong time!).
• Facilities: The hotel has a nice gym that can be booked for 45 minute timeslots. The equipment is modern and the gym was very clean.
• Staff: We found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful. When our room was not ready, they held on to our bags and actually called us when the room was ready (many hotels say they will do this but never do). They also asked how our stay was after we checked in and came back down to the lobby. The staff at breakfast were also great; we really appreciated the friendly service.
• HHonors Benefits: As Gold members, we did feel that we were very well treated at this hotel. As occupation was low, we were upgraded to a suite both stays. We also appreciated the a-la-carte breakfast options which were very generous. We also appreciated the Sunday special and if the French toast sticks are offered, we recommend them.

Overall, we feel that the Hilton Doubeltree is well run and the staff care. As Marriott Titanium members, it was a hard choice to stay here to miss out on earning points and nights but we feel the DoubleTree was a good choice and we will stay here again in the future. And yes, they still serve the delicious cookies on check-in for the win!

We had to go on an emergency road trip from Calgary to Victoria to move my daughters things out of her apartment she can no longer afford.
The DoubleTree hotel by Hilton had great rates in a great location.
We arrived just fine and Xavier was there to greet us. He was really great and really made us feel at home.
It's a tough time to travel. The parking garage is generally locked. The front doors to the hotel are locked after 6 PM (it is not hard to get in if you are staying there) and there is a bare minimum skeleton staff.
We could not order food from their restaurant as it was closed. There were no restaurants anywhere we could go to, so we had to order in and eat in the hotel room. Thankfully, we had a 1 bedroom suite for a great price, and it came with a table and chairs so we could eat in comfort. With refrigerator and coffee/tea maker in the rooms, the place was a comfortable place to park ourselves in the middle of a busy move.
It's a great hotel in a great location and if/when we return to Victoria, we will definitely be looking at staying here again.

My family and I stayed at the hotel from January until the end of March because of a fire we had at our home. The staff was excellent making us feel at home and were accommodating to our family's needs. The suite we stayed in was able to feel like home as the hotel brought in extra amenities (like fridges) and added personalized touches to the kid's bedroom so it felt like home.

We were concerned with potential COVID exposure being in a communal space but the hotel staff put our fears at ease. The property was clean, staff wore masks and other guests were respectful of not sharing elevators.

During our long stay we had takeout breakfast from the onsite restaurant and the staff quickly got to know our preferences.

Overall it was a great experience and we would recommend staying at DoubleTree to any of our friends and family.

I am very grateful for such an excellent extended stay at the Doubletree in Victoria. Having not lived in B.C. since the 90’s and after exiting my home in Chile during the height of Covid, it was significantly beneficial to receive comfort through this excellent property and supportive team in what became my home away from home for several months. From my initial discussions with Kristine and my preliminary couple of nights visit to view and compare a number of suites, everything fell into place, and I was able to enjoy spectacular floor to ceiling balcony views of the Olympic Mountains and the Juan de Fuca Strait during the rather difficult times of 2020 / 2021. The property is immaculately maintained and very clean (thanks Bambi!) with many amenities such as a gym and a pub that offers great food, all in the same building. The breakfast menu offers many options with plentiful portions and speaking with Aileen and Julie and the breakfast team was always a pleasure. Xavier, a guest services manager, was incredibly helpful with all my requests and it was great to have such interesting conversations with him during some of the quiet periods when all seemed upside down because of Covid. The entire front office and maintenance and cleaning team provided excellent service and made me feel at home for which I am very grateful. Thank you to all the team! You made a very difficult period that much easier which I very much appreciate. I hope you all have a great summer in beautiful B.C.!

My wife and I stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton in Victoria for a long weekend and our stay was faultless from start to finish. The hotel itself is very well appointed and we loved our room and view but it was the staff that made it for us. From the moment we arrived the service and attentiveness were faultless and exceeded our expectations at all times. Front desk and restaurant staff in particular were extremely helpful and welcoming. The hotel amenities were clearly explained on check-in and the famous warm cookie and bottled water are always appreciated.
The hotel itself is in a great location, just a couple of minutes walk from the waterfront and main streets. Lots of drinking and dining options are literally moments away.
Parking is only by means of a valet service but this worked very well and our car was ready within a minute or two of asking.
We will not hesitate to stay here on our future visits to Victoria.
