Detailed Reviews
Rooms are average hotel rooms, really clean though! Mini fridge and microwave oven in the room. Big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and foaming hand soap are in the washroom as well as a Toto bidet toilet seat. Surprisingly it is actually pretty good! Pool is an indoor/outdoor pool and was great! Restaurant was delicious, a little pricey though. Did not use shuttle service but they have it available for rides to and from downtown area. Underground parking is $18 per day.

Everyone at the hotel - front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were so pleasant and made our stay memorable. We had dinner at the Blue Crab Restaurant two nights and both times the food and service were excellent. Great location near Fisherman's Wharf - lots to do in the area and a quick walk to downtown.. We reserved our room through BC Ferries Vacations and received an incredible deal - upgraded to a room with a view of the harbour and well worth the nominal extra cost.

We had a lovely stay at Coast Victoria this past weekend. The location was awesome, still walking distance to downtown and the harbour taxi stops right at the marina at the hotel.
Room was very clean upon check in (except for the balcony which was a bit dusty and cob webby). My husband was obsessed with the bidet in the washroom. The pool and hot tub were open with capacity limits but we never had an issue going in. Over all it was a fabulous weekend.
Would of given 5 stars but we didn’t entirely enjoy the restaurant, they were VERY slow and food was mediocre for the price. Also there was no store on location so when you wanted a drink or snack you had to go to a vending machine or walk a few blocks. Also our room was pretty gross by the end of the 3 days as they aren’t doing ANY housekeeping during your stay.
We will most likely return!

We booked this hotel based upon it's location to the ocean, and were pleasantly surprised by our choice. The restaurant was amazing, and we were seated right beside the window overlooking the harbor. The dinner at the Blue Crab was amazing! I was concerned about staying at a hotel during COVID; however, the hotel had me feeling at ease right away. Posted occupancy limits, signage for proper egress & ingress, and sanitizing stations were easily found. The facility was clean! We had a wonderful walk along the waterfront all the way to Johnson St. I'm not sure why we haven't stayed here before. No regrets, and it is on our list for future visits to Victoria.

Thank you so much for your very kind words – we are all delighted that enjoyed your visit. We do try hard to make our guests feel at home, safe and well taken care of especially during this time of Covid . It is very rewarding to know how much our guests enjoy themselves. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

A workshop I was attending was held at the Coast. I was delighted by my lovely, spacious room with a patio and beautiful view of the bay. The bidet toilet with seat warmer makes it hard to ever use another toilet again. It was so so nice. As was getting a plush robe and lots of comfy pillows. Location is really great too.

I was so pleased to go for a romantic weekend getaway to Victoria and this hotel did not disappoint. Very Clean, nicely appointed lobby. I was so pleased with every part of my service during my stay here. When I first called to ensure details of the room I told them this would be my first trip to Victoria and they kindly gave me a room upgrade. The room was lovely and we had a bit of a view of the marina. The king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was wonderful(I am talking in particular about this crazy bidet toilet that had a heated seat!!!). There is a pool and hottub overlooking the harbour. The best part about this hotel was the walkability to the downtown and all areas- It felt like you are literally a few blocks to any restaurant, or sightseeing location and the shuttle will drop you off downtown and pick you up(saving you taxi fare or parking costs) We were actually able to walk back to our hotel from Chinatown (very beautiful with all the Christmas lights by the harbour). I plan to stay there again and would recommend this hotel. The only downside- As the pool opens up to the outside the pool is not heated very warm and was a bit too chilly for me to swim in more than a few minutes(and I am a swimmer) I would recommend they turn up the heat in the pool in the winter months.

Dear Valued Guest , Thank you for the wonderful review. I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and were able to take in the beautiful Christmas lights throughout the Inner Harbour for your first visit to our beautiful city. We do turn up the heat in the pool in the winter months however it does tend to cool off quite a bit quicker as we hit those colder temperatures. We very much look forward to seeing you again :) Kindest Regards, Leslie

This hotel is definitely showing its age and installing the fancy, "space-aged" toilets really doesn't make it worth the nightly rates. While the views were great, we found the overall service to be a little lackluster and the rooms just average. I know a lot of travelers don't spend much time in their rooms, but for those of us that do like to relax, we found the amenities lacking. The tv channel selection was poor and it literally took us almost an hour just to figure out how to use the remote correctly! When we were looking for a snack and searched out a vending machine, there were literally 6 items in TOTAL available. It looked like it hadn't been re-stocked in months! The bathroom was definitely showing its age with crooked outlets (that worked intermittently), peeling wallpaper, cracked tiles and a lot of hair on the floor that did NOT belong to my husband or myself. We found the front desk service lacking overall as well, once standing there, waiting to simply ask a question (with no other guests present) while 5 staff chatted amongst themselves, taking at least 1-2 minutes before even acknowledging us). On the positive side...the A/C worked well, the curtains kept the room nice and dark, the water pressure in the shower was decent and we enjoyed the pool. Best thing about our visit was our dinner at the Blue Crab. Although pricey, it was an amazing meal with even better service. I guess with rates averaging $300/night, I expected just a little more from a Coast Hotel. We stayed here primarily because we had a free night that we redeemed with our rewards points, otherwise, I would've chosen any number of other hotels in this location for a similar rate.

Thank you so much for your review Vicki I am so very sorry that you had this experience during your stay. We do contract out our vending company , so i have followed up to ensure they properly maintain stock especially during the busier periods . I was at the front desk during that time and we were working on a rather urgent situation that had come up . I can assure you that myself and the team we not freely chatting amoungst ourselves and we were able to get to you as soon as we were able. I was able to track the room that you did stay in and i will ensure that our full team is able to inspect this room for quality assurance to ensure it is up to the level we strive for. Thank you again for taking the time to share your comments :)

Paid for the 1 night I used, and provided authorization for them to charge 39 extra from pet fee and parking. They charged 50 instead of 39, but instead of correcting their mistake they charged an additional night. Have been calling them for days and no one gives solution. They say they only charged for 1 night but the credit card has 2 charges. Every time we call them to clarify, they make it even worse and make more arbitrary charges.

Dear Valued Guest, I am sorry to hear that you had this experience with your billing. Please contact me at l.sheldan@coasthotels.com and advise me of your name and stay dates so i can look into the matter further . Usually a $50 amount is the daily credit card authorization amount taken as a incidental and damage deposit. A credit card pre-authorization is much like any other charge to a credit card, except instead of actually debiting funds from the cardholder you just put a temporary "hold" on the funds that lasts for a few days depending on your banking institution . At a technical level, the actual duration of the hold depends on the merchant classification code (MCC code). Some type of merchants may qualify for a longer hold than others. This hold releases once payment is taken for the actual charges or once the hold expires . Sometimes you will see both pop up on your list of transactions. Your credit card company should have more detailed information on credit card authorizations. I hope this helped , but i am happy to look into this further for you as well. Kind Regards, Leslie

I was here with my wife on a speaking engagement and decided to stay an extra day for a mini holiday.
The speaking event occurred in the ballroom of the hotel. It is a nice space but the ceilings are low and feedback from wireless microphones to the speakers was very annoying to the audience.
We were greeted nicely at the front desk. Parking underground was easy.
We got a room near the top of the hotel but the view was of the neighbourhood and not the water so it was OK.
I liked that it had two chairs to sit in. Many hotel rooms have only one chair, leaving the second person of a couple to sit on the bed or floor, if they want to relax and read.
A small selection of tea and coffee was included with the room. It was very nice but only one example of each kind of tea was there, so if we both wanted the same kind of tea, we could not.
The bed was spacious and comfortable. We both slept well.
The bathroom had a Japanese style seat that is heated, and can wash and dry you too. It was noisy and I am not sure I liked it.
I prefer bar soap but the only soap offered was liquid soaps in dispensers. Probably less waste but not my preference.
The restaurant in the hotel is nice, cozy, had a nice view of the harbour, but was priced very high and only serve breakfast or dinner. We had to leave the hotel for lunch or mid-day food.
For the price of the room, it was a nice place to stay.

Dear CaptDrLarry, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It was great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We have single use versions of the soap / shampoo and Bar soap for those that would like something more preference wise, but yes, the soap dispensers do save a lot of waste. Anything extra that you would like to enhance your stay please just let us know - we are happy to deliver to ensure a great stay :) After 3 years of waiting, we do hope to be open very soon for daily lunch service once again. Perhaps in April or May . Thank you also for your comments highlighting where we can do better. We appreciate hearing about your experience regarding the microphone. We have removed that microphone from service right away. Your comments are very helpful in highlighting opportunities to improve our guest experience even further. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Front staff were speedy and accommodating; helpful when asked about trails/walks into the downtown core.
Rooms were clean teo perfection; although décor and bathrooms were not the most updated, the bidet was a fantastic addition to the room. Microwave, safe, mini fridge were in working order. TV (did not use) was available and room air/heating worked well.
Location is gorgeous, just away from the downtown core - however, the seaplanes landing/taking off in the morning can be a nuisance for some.
Parkade is a bit dodgy only because the corners are a tight squeeze! Hotel guests pay a flat fee for parking with their booking; additional guests visiting are to pay via pay station.

Heliprt is about 10-15 minutes walk, similar to downtown but in a different direction through a historic Neighbourhood. Hotel is great, but try to get a harbour view room for enjoyment of waterfront. Has free shuttle to and from local areas. We used it to go to dinners in the downtown, and used the hop on/off ferry shuttle some times to go or from the far side of the downtown waterfront.
Just give us a call directly. We will be able to assist you :)
