A unique and fun place to stay, right beside the water and the walking/cycling path. Across the street is the impressive Beacon Hill park for strolling and admiring the immense colour of the flowers. A couple km walk to the downtown area was handy. Breakfast was very good and the accommodations were clean and comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in the Chelsea room. Great view of the ocean and Olympia mountains beyond. Service was a little weird. When we first entered the room the bedspread was on the wrong direction, like the bed had been made by a child or a guy who just doesn't know how to make a bed and we could have used some more towels at some point. They asked us the morning we were leaving if we needed more towels which was a little late. But all in all, we plan to return to this place in the future.
In fact, I was shocked when I saw the room. They did not tell me that the room is on the third floor and there is no elevator. I have a heart problem and there is no employee so that we can explain our problem to him. The room does not have a wardrobe to hang clothes. Unfortunately, I spent the holiday while I was sick because of this hotel. I do not advise anyone Going to this place and paying all this money for this hotel
Dashwood Manor is a lovely old Victorian mansion with gorgeous views of the Salish Sea a short drive from downtown Victoria. I chose the Dorset Room as it had an outdoor balcony with a great view of the water and Olympia Range. It's on the 3rd floor so be ready to tote up your luggage. Breakfast is included and it was delicious. They started out every morning with yogurt and berries followed by fluffy pancakes, potatoes and bacon one day and eggs, toast and sausage another. OJ and apple juice as well as tea and coffee are offered. Cookies are a nice treat in the afternoon. Water and soda are available in the Breakfast room frig at all times. Our room was clean and comfortable and I'd definitely stay there again. And there's a wonderful walkway all along the water to help enjoy the view. …
I have stayed twice now at Dashwood Manor, in April and May 2022, and enjoyed my stay both times. The location is superb--close to Dallas Road and across the street from Beacon Hill Park. Although I have visited Victoria often, I hadn't spent much time in this park, and now I know what I have been missing! Amenities at the bed and breakfast are very good, and the staff is helpful and friendly.
My partner and I recently spent the night in the Windsor Oak room. I booked the room specifically so that my partner would be able to have a long soak in the huge jacuzzi tub. The hot water ran out and was running cold before the bath was 1/4 full. The next mornin, having a shower before leaving was bracing (no hot water at all). Pretty disappointing. But the room itself was gorgeous, the bed comfy, and the breakfast delicious.
Staying at this B&B is like stepping back a little in time to a classic fairy-tale. Purportedly built in 1912 this heritage home is situated in the beautiful Dallas road with spectacular ocean and mountain views. We stayed at the Chelsea which was the Master suite of Elenor and Arthur Lineham ( who built the family home in 1912). A very spacious room overlooking the serene ocean views. The house sits at a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Beacon hill park. The breakfast service in the morning is at the oceanfront breakfast room that also serves complementary refreshments throughout your stay. Our host Eddie was very gracious and the food was extraordinary. This stay was a unique and unexpected experience, particularly because it in such a quaint location but just five minutes from the downtown. It will stick in our memory (for all the right reasons) for a long time to come.…
About the greatest view in Victoria facing the ocean. Just cross the road and you can walk along the coast. Room was big and airy. Excellent breakfast that's better than most restaurants. Friendly staff that provides great service.
We booked one night and stayed in the Chelsea room. It was beautiful! Huge, comfortable bed, large bright bathroom with a tub and shower. Big bright windows facing Beacon Hill Park and Ross Bay. Quiet and clean. Nice breakfast served in the morning. Great location for just about anything in Victoria.
Fabulous location for seaside walking trails and very close to the city! The innkeepers gladly prepared us a breakfast to go that was made vegan and without gluten or soy at our request. The muffins were delicious! They also provided vegan yogurt with berries and a couple of bananas too! The room and bed were unbelievably comfy, and the air jetted tub to die for. My only negative was the barking dog when we would return to the inn. It seemed that the gentleman owner was bothered by this and this made us a bit uncomfortable coming back inside as it seemed we had disturbed them. We love dogs and hope that future guests don't feel awkward when entering at night :) Thank you again for the accommodations!
