The Inn at Laurel Point is lauded for its cleanliness, with guests consistently commending the immaculate conditions and meticulous housekeeping. Many visitors enjoy the spacious and comfortable rooms boasting splendid harbor views, though some have raised concerns about noise and occasional outdated decor.
While opinions on value and amenities are mixed—with some guests expecting more complimentary offerings—the hotel's location receives high marks for its scenic views and convenient access to local attractions. Service, often described as warm and efficient, has a few detractors noting lapses in attentiveness.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed 2 nights at he Laurel Point, with our cat and dog. Cat Victors 1st hotel stay so we were mildly concerned but we had a lovely room overlooking the
city and inner harbour. Victor had a great perch to watch the world go by which he loved. Staff were lovely and warm always giving us and the pets a warm greeting or pat....doggy treats at the front desk were also appreciated by Murphy. Location is great, grabbed take-out on our 1st night there to make sure the pets were comfortable, so an easy walk to Fishermans Wharf. We brought our bikes so nice bike room to keep them locked up in ....a card key lock and very visible easy to access when we wanted them. The pool was a bit warm but better than cool??

Hey there Dharma, Victor and Murphy, Thanks for your review! It was a pleasure to have you with your furry friends. We understand that they are just as much family and are glad you all had a fantastic stay here. We are certainly fortunate that our location allows us to have not only those peaceful water views, yet still being close enough to the downtown core and Fisherman’s Wharf – Glad our location worked out for you! We hope to see you all again soon! -Michelle, Guest Experience Agent

Apparently all wings of this hotel now are "new"
Room was a little dated but clean
Front desk convinced us (after much discussion) to upgrade room for better view, which was great, not sure what the view would have been like otherwise but it probably would have been fine since this hotel is almost surrounded by water
Parking is not free approx $20-30 per night secured parking but have to walk outside to get to the parkade
Indoor pool a little date and not huge
Hotel location was good but a bit of a drive/walk to the action downtown. Location great for going to fishermans warf, under 5min walk to get there.
Staff nice, no problem
Thought i got a deal through priceline at $172 per night for 2 nights but after upgrade and parking and steep taxes (every hotel in BC) ended up walking away with a $487.76 dent in my wallet for 2 nights

The hotel staff were absolutely incredible, every single department! They always went above and beyond to accommodate our casts needs. Kyla- Rae in sales is wonderful, she is very easy to communicate with and we truly appreciate her for helping accommodate our ever changing needs. Our cast and crew loved the atmosphere of the hotel, the location (within a short walking distance to downtown Victoria) and the beautiful spacious rooms with breathtaking views. Thank you from all of us at American Dreamer Films Inc!

We stayed at the hotel towards the end of the COVID-19 pandemic but were still in the restricted phase of room service. As a result we had to ask for supplies such as soap, coffee, shampoo etc.. Even tough they could have seen how long we were staying, and that we gave them a written list, they only gave us one pack of coffee and must have run out of hair conditioner as that never appeared.
The room was on the second floor and faced the inner harbor. If we had realized that we needed to specify a higher floor, and one that faced the outer harbor then that would have helped us enjoy the stay. The rooms that overlook the inner harbor are also overlooked by the apartments to the side of the hotel.
The patio was very uneven and had trip hazards you needed to be aware of. The bathroom was huge but the shower was very small in comparison with one small shelf on which to store your shower gel, shampoo, etc.. It also floods the floor unless you ensure the door of the shower is pulled inwards which then limits your room to move even more. The bed was comfortable and huge, the A/C worked well, there was an iron and ironing board in the room, and lots of cupboard space. The TV was small, and the room had lost of pottery placed in the room so beware if you have rumbustious children who could easily break them.
You park your car underground in a separate car park just across the road from reception and it felt secure.
Signage in the hotel is poor and finding your room, and the elevators is your first challenge.
We used the Aura restaurant for breakfast and the first time we did was not great. We were told the waiter had made a mistake on our order so was having to be remade. Janis, the director of the restaurant was very apologetic and gave us the breakfast for free which was nice, but even so it took around an hour to arrive. We got the distinct impression that a) the restaurant is too small for the hotel (we had to sit at a table with limited view of anything), b) they are very understaffed and we witnessed waiters literally running around (perhaps this contributed to the mistake on our order), c) the tables placement does not make the most of the floor space, d) there are not enough umbrellas for the tables on the patio and we saw staff wheeling bases and carrying umbrellas around the patio trying to satisfy more than they could with their limited supply. Janis does a great job in the face of this adversity but the hotel needs to fix this issue.
Overall we got the impression that the hotel was being/had been converted into something it wasn't intended to be and it felt as though we were staying at a convention center rather than a hotel. Even the kitchen is separated from the restaurant and you'll see waiters wheeling/carrying food across the hallway as you enter the hotel by reception - really weird.

Hey K6832VKdavidh, Thanks very much for your comprehensive review! We appreciate your insight as it allows us to further improve our offerings :) We especially appreciate your patience as we adapt to, and with the PHOs in place. I do apologize if we weren't able to preemptively stock the room - at this time we try to allocate rooms according to existing requests. However many factors such as early check ins, extended stays etc. contribute to the rooms' assignment. We do have our team on 24/7 to replenish room amenities so I do apologize if your requests were missed at any point. I hope this clarifies things and I am happy to update your preferences if you'd like. Rest assured your comments regarding our balcony are currently in the works with our most recent balcony project. The shower door does sound a bit concerning and I will ensure that we have our team look at this as well. Again, we do thank you for your patience during these unique pandemic times - with an influx in our business levels in comparison with COVID staffing it can be a challenge, but we always value our guests' feedback. I hope we have another opportunity to welcome you back in the near future to show you the seamless experience I know we can provide :) If there is anything further you'd like to discuss please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at guest.experience@laurelpoint.com Looking forward to connecting with you in the future again! -Michelle, Guest Experience Agent

I got the impression that the room had not been cleaned for awhile. The horizontal surfaces were dusty, there was a soiled dinner napkin lying against the side of the refrigerator at the back. The lower part of the windows had not been cleaned since someone with a child who left hand prints on the glass, stayed in the room. There was no screen on the patio doors and upon closer inspection, the doors had been installed inside out, that is the track for the screen was on the inside and the moveable door was on the outside. To break into the room, all someone had to do was lift the outside door out of the track. Poor attempt was made to wash the algae off the patio. Several seals in the double pane windows had failed, causing condensation to form between the glass panes.
The water was discoloured when filling the bathroom sink. No bottled water in the room and the filling station on the main floor for water bottles, was closed and a croissant outlet was to be installed. Staff refused to open the room for us to refill our bottles even though no construction had been started. There was mildew forming on the vertical corners of the shower. The grounds were unkempt.
The entire hotel had a very "tired" appearance. The rates were very confusing. I paid one rate on Thursday, a higher rate on Friday and the highest rate on Saturday, with no satisfactory explanation.
Perhaps the biggest surprise was that there was no hotel shuttle to and from the airport. People we met that were staying at different hotels informed us that not only did their hotels have an airport shuttle, it would also pick them up if they wandered too far afield.
Our stay was April 21, 22, 23 2022. I srnt this letter 3 times but received no reply until June 23.

Beds weren't the best, a little soft, like they hadn't been changed in a decade.
Food/breakfast for 2, $64?
Not even worth half that.
Yogurt was blander, slimy, like watered down and gummy.
Fruit,most sour.
First day: butter, 2 jams, peanut butter, was pretty decent (fruit sweet, croissant perfect)
2nd day, 2 jams, for 2 people, period.
Sausage was horrible, toast were warmed bread, not toasted, roasted potatoes needed a bit more cooking.
3rd day, 1 jam period, for 2 people.
Croissant was a bit over done, 3/4 fruit too sour, bad yogurt and granola (didn't eat).
Breakfast was late, already had to be out of room by 11am.
Called for more jam, peanutbutter...
I've had better breakfasts from fast food.
If you want to be 4 star, upgrade beds and get better cooks in the kitchen, breakfasts aren't that hard to cook...hence why I never ate any other meals at hotel.
Positive:
Beautiful,large rooms.
Huge, modern bathroom,
Separate: glass shower, beautiful large bathtub, modern low flow toilet, beautiful alcove at entrance, nice sized balcony and the view of the water and hotel landscape with flowers, waterfall...
A pet bed, bowls and dog treat, very thoughtful and considerate.
Free, safe, parking.
Great location.
Staff was very friendly.
Being unable to accommodate an extra 30 or 60 minute check out, left a bad taste in my mouth.
3.5/5
My Main Issues:
Beds, Food and Checkout!
At $330/night, I expected that little bit more.

Hi Kim, Thanks for your comprehensive feedback. We like to see these reviews as an opportunity to improve in the future. I do apologize that your stay was not up to our typical standards. We understand that bedding preferences can vary from each person, and are happy to provide alternate mattress toppers upon request (for most room types’ beds.) It is great to hear that you were able to enjoy those lovely marble bathrooms, views and pet amenities; we love meeting your furry friends! It is disappointing to hear that your dining experience wasn’t up to par – we normally receive outstanding feedback on our Continental and Pointe breakfasts. We have recently changed up our menu in line with seasonality, so I encourage you to give us another try :) If there is anything further you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at guest.experience@laurelpoint.com. The room was beautiful. It is separated into two parts and comes with a closet and drawers. It also comes with a mini fridge, microwave, sink some toilet trees and hangers. Alongside a kettle and coffee maker. The mattress was so comfortable. Normally when I go to hotels in get some back pain because of the mattress but to my surprise I got mine this time.
The balcony is beautiful with an awesome view! The coaches were also very comfortable and the bathroom was above and beyond.
The bathroom included a bath tub and a shower + 2 sinks and a toilet ofcourse. The shower was very easy to manage.
The only complaint I have is that they have cable TV. Alot of people have Netflix,Disney, prime or you can just use YouTube. You're think when you walk into this hotel that there would atleast be Netflix or YouTube on the hotel with the price you pay.

Very nice hotel, even though not in the town it was an easy stroll away, our room big and looked out over the harbour so we could see the seaplanes coming and going at close quarters. However, even though we stayed 4 nights our room was only serviced once and that was just to change the towels nothing else, I have done extensive travelling and never have I not had the room serviced daily when paying a similar price. The front desk staff did indicate we could ask for more towels if we wished but it was the fact that nothing was cleaned or vacuumed during our stay. We also ordered breakfast in our room one $7 bagel and $5 toast, ended up costing over $19, on the menu card there was no indication of a delivery fee or gratuity being added., the staff were lovely so it seems like management need to get their act together.

I needed a two-night accommodation for a quick weekend getaway and the Inn at Laurel Point certainly did not disappoint! Despite being in the midst of an extensive renovation at the time, my time there was extremely comfortable and pleasant. The hotel staff are second to none in terms of friendliness and service. The front desk/lobby area was under renovation so the check-in space was moved to a temporary location but signage was prevalent and it was easy to access. Despite the reno work being done, there was no noise disruption and it did not affect my stay in any way.
The hotel is located in a quiet location, perfectly tucked away from the busiest part of the city, yet within easy walking distance of many major attractions and restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend the Inn at Laurel Point to anyone heading to Victoria.

Despite some serious renovations to the hotel entrance and Japanese garden landscaping, the hotel exceeded our expectations. A short walk along the harbour front to downtown Victoria, we found friendly staff, stunningly good breakfasts with a harbour view, a room with a west facing water view, and comfortable accommodation. Our room was situated above a large area used for conferences and rather noisy parties. Also, bathroom ventilation could have been improved.

A lot of guests coming from the Clipper or Coho ferry roll their suitcases along the sidewalk to the hotel. Or a taxi ride will have you at the property in 5 minutes. You can book a bus to travel to Butchart Gardens and the pickup is in front of The Empress Hotel which is 1km or about a 14 minute walk away.
There was a bar on site and several restaurants nearby.
The Laurel Wing rooms are about 225 sq ft with a small step out balcony (space for two to stand) with a king or 2 double beds. A few have a king with pull out sofa bed. The Sunset Rooms in that wing have larger patios with outer harbour views and are a good budget friendlier option than going to a Studio. The Laurel Wing have bathtub/shower combination. The Erickson Wing rooms all have floor to ceiling windows with a patio you can sit out on. Most rooms in that wing are Studios and are about 300 sq ft with 165 sq ft balcony. The railings on the patios are glass as well. Some face the inner harbour and most face the outer harbour. First floor rooms in that wing look out at our newly renovated gardens. The bathrooms in the Erickson Wing are all marble with two sinks, deep soaker tub and separate shower. We have a few larger suites with a separate living room in this wing for more space and even larger patios.
