I came here for my 25th Birthday celebration with a friend. There were two chocolates left in the room which was a nice touch. I loved the charm of this building. The living room was cozy. I so wish I had the things to make a cocktail and sit my the fire in the evening and read a book with a quality cup of tea in the morning! I think it would’ve been good to know about needing to remove footwear beforehand. As for the room, we were by the stairway on the top floor. It was quite loud as the walls, floors, doors aren’t soundproof by any means. However, we just went with it. The light coming into the room through the door on the other hand was a bit tricky. I wish I’d brought an eye mask. The bed was okay. Laying on top of it was very comfortable, but once tucked in and trying to sleep on those tall pillows, I found it a bit rough. For those who have sleeping difficulties or neck issues, I would recommend bringing your own. Something we thought would’ve added to the experience and felt suitable to the Craigmyle would’ve been robes in the room.

This is a wonderful find of a hotel: clean, with lovely architecture, competitively priced and brilliantly located in a beautiful neighbourhood within walking distance of downtown and very close to major bus routes. As more of a self-serve hotel with very limited on-site staff, it really suits independent travellers.

Room Tip: Guests need to be ok with stairs, as it’s up on a hill from the street, and there is no elevator...

The Craigmyle is a lovely heritage home. Yes, there are stairs to the house and rooms and the rooms are on the small side but there is access to a beautiful large living room and guest kitchen on the main floor. Coffee and tea are available in this common area with computer access and board games. Breakfast can be arranged for ten dollars per person. Walking distance to the town is about 20 minutes or a day pass for the bus was five dollars per person. The rooms are lovely, and there is a high level of cleanliness throughout. The staff are efficient but do not engage readily but helpful.

Located in a neighborhood close to downtown Victoria. Free street parking. We were allowed to check-in a little early, which I appreciated. We stayed for 2 nights. The first night, we could not sleep because of the loud people in the room next to ours. Be aware that you can hear everything in this hotel. No TVs and no shoes (I assume to keep the noise level down). Very clean, but quite small rooms.

Everything was amazing -so clean, so cozy, and so welcoming and friendly. But fist and foremost, there is everything that a guest needs: all the kitchen equipment, office and more., bathroom supplies etc. I really appreciate it.

I was delighted with the cozy feel and elegant decor, fitting for this historic Victoria landmark. I also appreciated the clear instructions for access after check-in time including parking information. I felt safely tucked in on a rainy night. My only wish was that I could have found some hot water for tea before 7:30 a.m. The location is an easy drive from downtown.

I had no idea that the Craigmyle would be as quaint as it is! It was like taking a step back in time to the Victorian era, with updates to make the stay everything you would hope for. The bed was super cozy, the towels were nice and the room was clean, like staying a guest bedroom in a very upscale home! The staff were super friendly and efficient and helpful, and it was right below Craigdarroch Castle, so very convenient if you are going to visit the castle, as I did. Such a lovely neighborhood, too!

The Craigmyle is in an old building but very well kept up and spotlessly clean. It's a peaceful oasis in the city and the optional breakfast was tasty and a good value. The min-suite is cute and has a basic kitchenette but guests should be warned that the bed is short and narrow.

It was an experience to stay at a character home. The location is excellent. We enjoyed going for a walk in the beautiful neighborhood, and visited the Castle and the grounds of government house. The grout in the shower needs a bit of attention: black mold, can be removed with a steam cleaner. Some cobwebs on the ceiling could be removed easily. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable.
