Nestled conveniently by the harbor, Days Inn by Wyndham Victoria On The Harbour captivates guests with its prime location, offering easy access to nearby attractions. While the rooms are generally found to be clean, opinions are mixed, with some guests encountering outdated decor and lack of AC. The hotel's staff receives accolades for their exceptional service, and the overall cleanliness of the premises often earns high marks. Value-wise, the hotel is appreciated for its affordability, though some guests mention the on-site dining is a bit pricey. Amenities like free parking are a plus, although reviews suggest that the hotel could improve its offering in other areas.

This location is great, the restaurant is a bustling hotspot, although the fried food may put you into afib. We had two double beds w/ a view of a big green crane. If you have young boys, they’ll be impressed but avoid the window area because that’s a quick trip to eternity with no rails, bars or balcony. I recommend the harbor side if you stay here. There’s a liquor store just downstairs- perfect if you’re an alcoholic or just like to stock up on vacation. The heater behind the bed was creepy, I’m convinced there’s a family of creatures living there, and possibly monsters under the bed. You won’t need the heater because it’s hot as heck but there’s a fan provided- no air conditioning. The crown jewel is the 6 inch ledge stepping into the bathroom, not ADA or hip replacement friendly and if you forget, this could substantially alter your vacay. The elevator was terrifying, my dog gave it a 1 star. It’s as bumpy as an E- ticket ride at Disneyland- needs immediate repair. The bed was a Goldilocks nightmare- you’re going to feel that the next day. The tv didn’t work but they repaired it. To be fair, the location is fabulous and the bright orange restaurant was fun. The employee at the hotel front desk was very helpful, professional and nice. This is a fun, active and busy spot with a small pool and jacuzzi- walking distance to everything. I’m still perplexed about the bathroom ledge but we survived the night. It’s not the Fairmont but the harbor side has a good view of it. Victoria is wonderful and we loved the boat tours and our trip to Tofino and Sooke.

Thank you for staying at Days Inn on the Harbour. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience at our hotel. We hope you enjoyed your stay with us. We haven't had any reports of monsters under the bed but we'll make sure that our team keeps an eye out for them! The elevator in the hotel is still original to when the building was constructed. The braking mechanism is not as smooth as today's technology. However, it performs exactly as it was designed to and we have it professionally serviced on a monthly basis for preventative maintenance. We understand that a step up into the bathroom is unusual. Unfortunately, it is how our building was designed and we are not able to change it. We apologize for any inconvenience. We do have guest rooms with one bed that do not have a step. Thank you again for sharing this feedback. We hope that you enjoyed your stay overall and we hope to see you again in the future.

The hotel is well located, in front of the seafront, everything is within walking distance, we did not use the car to visit the city center. The room was clean however there is no air conditioning but not a problem.
I recommend this hotel.

To be fair, at this price point, given the location and views, one does have to overlook the lack of detailed cleanliness. We found the room clean overall, but if you look carefully in the corners, edges, ledges, and grout around the tub and on the bathroom floor, you might be disappointed. On arrival, the room had a slight stale smell, but once we opened the windows for a few minutes (there were two, we were in a corner unit), the air was fine. The furniture was not chipped or worn, nothing was broken, and the bed was comfortable enough. Okay value for the price. On our visit we found this hotel perfectly quiet and we slept well. They had a good selection of TV channels including some non-commercial ones like The Frame channel.

Fantastic hotel in a great location with very friendly staff! We have stayed at the Days Inn on the Harbour several times and we absolutely love it. The staff are all very friendly and go above and beyond to assist you. On our first trip we talked to Lynn on the phone before we booked and she was very helpful and made sure we got the room we wanted. She has continued to be very helpful when we visit and makes our stay very enjoyable every time! The view of the harbour from the room was amazing and the rooms are always very clean. The rates are very reasonable and the location is perfect for walking around the harbour or to shopping and restaurants. It is an easy walk to downtown, to James Bay and to Beacon Hill park and the beach. We also walked to Fisherman’s wharf and the breakwater lighthouse. The hotel also has free parking if you have a vehicle. We enjoyed the heated pool and there is also a nice hot tub and sitting area outside. The restaurant has a nice patio and there is also a liquor store. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back!

My friend and I made a reservation in the Fall to stay here in Jan. Between the 2 of us, we had a LOT of questions/concerns about a few different aspects of the hotel; number of beds; kitchen amenities; noise; parking; view . . . (we're a LOT!). We were treated with patience and kindness, and every question was answered clearly. After all that, my friend got sick the day we were to check in! I called the hotel, and the person I spoke with was kind and considerate, and assured me we would not be charged for cancelling on such short notice. So, although I haven't stayed there YET, I fully intend to as soon as possible - the customer service is AMAZING!!!

Great location. Hotel had reduced rate for us, either based on us being Vancouver Island residents or based on us being in Victoria to see a family member in hospital. Very comfortable room, including the bed and pillows. Reception was so kind on phone when I booked, and fellow recognized my voice when I arrived.

The outside temperature was -6 or less & there had been a fresh falling snow which is very rare for Victoria. The hotel location is ideal & our harbour view was nice.
First, the front desk clerk did everything he could in a very trying situation. He was pleasant and obliging even into the 14th hour of his shift. of the below is any fault of his. He informed us the hotel restaurant where we planned dinner was closed but would be open for breakfast the next day which it was not.

When we got to our floor in the elevator there was a loud bang & a coil spring popped out & hung from the top track of the door. Fortunately the door opened & we exited. The elevator was out of service for almost all our stay which was particularly difficult on my wife who doesn’t take stairs because of her knees.
There was no heat in the room. The thermostat’s batteries were dead which I discovered after trying several times to set the temperature. I called down to the desk but he couldn’t come up with batteries right away & shortly he called the room asking if I could come down & get the batteries from him & install them myself. By this time he couldn’t leave the desk as the elevator repairman was working on that problem. I figured out how to replace the batteries & the thermostat worked until later when we had gotten to sleep & it kicked out again & the room stayed frigid until next morning.

In the bathroom the little hand sanitizer bottle was empty yet placed in a row with the other little bottles beside the sink. The tile grout was black & broken with some fallen out. There was a filthy mess in the bathtub & the inside of the shower curtain which hadn’t been cleaned in a long time which made us leery of the cleanliness overall.
The baseboard heater louvres had been partially broken or disassembled with parts missing.
The bed mattress was old, lumpy and uncomfortable as were the pillows.
Overall a horrific stay only slightly assuaged by the room charge being refunded by the morning clerk.

My wife & I know this is far
from Days Inn standards yet Days Inn should have people making sure individual hotels are up to their standards.

We sincerely apologize that you did not enjoy your stay with us. It seems that the snowfall created a predicament for many businesses in Victoria and our team attempted to support our guests to the best of their ability. There were many issues experienced during your stay that are not reflective of the standard of service that we wish to provide. Many of the issues that you noted have since been addressed as reflected in our more recent reviews. Please feel free to reach out to guestservices@daysinnvictoria.com and we will do our best to make it up to you!

- Worst bed, worst service -

I booked my stay 2 or 3 weeks in advance, but one bed in the room has a super old spring. Every time I turn around on the bed, it makes a loud sound and wakes everyone up. I woke up 6-7 times per night and I finally had enough after the 2nd night, so I asked the front desk if they could do anything about it. The Indian gentleman was nice and polite and assigned me a new room. It was better afterward as the beds in the new room don't have a super old spring.

You might think the service is good, but someone else here has a horrible attitude. When I stayed there, I wanted soda but the vending machine in the lobby only accepts VISA, master card, Samsung pay, or apple pay. Both my husband and my VISA card didn't work, and his Samsung pay didn't work either. Someone else tried to buy something but failed too. I then asked the guy at the front desk (a Caucasian guy with blonde(?) hair) about it, and he got super defensive and insisted that he's used it numerous times and it's fine. He also cut me off as well, and i think he firmly believes that I just don't know how to use the machine. He eventually just said "maybe it's broken then", "sorry" nonchalantly. The only possibility I could think of is that it only works for Canadian VISA cards, but he didn't think of anything like that as he wasn't trying to solve the problem, but dodging it. It's probably the worst customer service that I've ever seen at any hotel, and I felt he didn't really want to work there at all as he has no desire to recognize the issue or solve the issue, but dodging it.

I've stayed in other Days inn hotels in other cities and they were acceptable, but this attitude isn't. I doubt I will stay in Days Inn again as they allow such horrible customer service in their hotels.

PS. the beds were filthy and you could see hair on the sheets... I am not sure if they even cleaned or changed the sheets...

I hadn't been to Victoria, BC in more than 20 years, so it was great to get back. Staying at the Days Inn helped me to really feel welcome because the Desk Staff was friendly and helpful. They were also good about quickly bringing extra towels to my room when I requested them, as well as taking care of maintenance needs in a timely manner.

We chose this hotel for its price and the location. Both were excellent. Being right across the street from the harbour and down the street from the BC museum, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the BC Legislative Building was very convenient. Many restaurants, shopping areas and even coastal walking trails are also within easy walking distance for most. We rented a car and drove outside the city also which was a bit more difficult. Having to drive through a busy city downtown area was time consuming and tedious but easy enough with GPS or map service. It’s about a 30 minute drive to airport or ferry terminal.
The hotel itself was very accommodating. We were initially booked into ground floor, outside access, across from the pool, room. We asked to be moved which they did the next day and we’re very friendly about it. The rooms are average or slightly smaller. The bathroom is quite tiny with not much room for toiletries or extras. The two beds are doubles not queens which worked for my sister and I but might not for couples sharing a bed. Otherwise the hotel worked quite well for us and would recommend if a budget friendly hotel in a great location is what you are looking for.
Also parking is free but no breakfast. Restaurant is a bit expensive but convenient. Starbucks across the street.
