Birds of a feather exceeded my expectations in every way. The rooms are lovely and thoughtfully planned to meet every need. The amenities offered include bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards so there’s always something to do.. Best of all were the owners. Breakfast was cheerful and conversation was enriching. I highly recommend and wish we could have stayed longer.
The Innkeeper walks barefoot in the room to test if it has been cleaned properly! From the privacy of our balcony we enjoyed watching the birds preening and playing down by the dock where a fresh water creek flows in to the tidal lagoon. We opted for the hot breakfast plan available through their web site and enjoyed a delicious smoked salmon quiche and fresh baked raspberry chocolate muffins. We used their courtesy kayaks to paddle next door to Hatley Castle. The 3 gardens there were free to enjoy and were spectacular in full bloom. At day's end we cracked open a bootle of wine and enjoyed sitting on their private dock. 3 days wasn't near enough to enjoy this peaceful sanctuary across the harbour from downtown Victoria. We'll be back soon.
This place is absolutely amazing. The room was very clean. Attention to detail was perfect. Everything from q-tips to extra pillows and blankets to snacks and breakfast. Lots of options on TV for rainy days or wanting to chill. The view is stunning and peaceful. Lots of activities, from bicycles to kayaks. Even though the rooms were full it was very quiet and no loud noises. We were there for 2 nights and felt like we had been away for a week. The hosts hospitality was impeccable. Will be going back.
We stayed in a honeymoon suite for our wedding. When we arrived, the view was stunning and I already felt so special. Watching stars in the hot tub with my (now I can call him) husband was so romantic, and the wedding ceremony on the dock was beyond my expectation. It was such a lovely perfect wedding that I already plan to come back for my anniversary! I don't even know what to say more about the hosts's kindness. They are more than amazing:)!! The wedding package met our budget since we wanted to have a micro-wedding, so we decided to add one more night in this lovely suite. I think that helped us to take more time to enjoy the place. There are many options to watch on TV like netflix, youtube and amazon, fresh yummy muffins in the morning, lovely breakfast set up, beautiful flowers gift for our marriage, spacious bathroom, private balcony, I would never forget about this whole time at this hotel. I would love to recommend this place to my friends for sure. Above and beyond! That's a phrase to express our experience at this place. God bless you, Thanks a lot for your hospitality:)!!…
Our only regret is we couldn’t extend our stay as this place is always booked up which is easily understandable once you’re here. We met another couple who were here for their 7th visit! The Innkeepers are warm and welcoming living downstairs separate from the 3 condos upstairs. Our condo had a commanding view of the ocean lagoon, Hatley Castle next door and downtown Victoria across the harbour just 20 minutes away. We took advantage of the free kayaks right at their private dock to paddle to the castle, and free bikes to cycle the galloping goose trail in to downtown stopping at Fisgard Lighthouse and Fort Rodd Hill just up the beach. They have everything even a free EV charging station. Best of all though is the quiet with only the sounds of nature on the lagoon. Birds of a Feather is truly a sanctuary to melt away the stresses of the world. We’re already booked to return later this year and this time we’re booked for a week and bringing family.…
Clean and spacious suite with a loft, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Their home-baked blueberry muffins were super delicious that they left at our room door in the next morning. Thank you for your kindness and warmth during our stay.
Birds of a Feather is a secluded and beautiful location.. Loved kayaking the lagoon.. The breakfast muffins were delicious! Room was Immaculately clean..We enjoyed my birthday here.. Thank you so much!
Enjoyed the room, the king-sized bed, the view, and the delicious fresh muffins! We also especially enjoyed using the telescope - a luxurious extra. It was a quiet area, away from crowds. Would love to go again.
A very pleasant stay that allowed me to concentrate on graduate studies for a few weeks in pleasant scenery. Like others, the fresh muffins were great and a welcome touch. The room was easily ventilated with open windows and the gas fireplace was practically a necessity on cooler days. Langford is about an hour walk away for those on foot (like me) but the walk is pleasant especially if you go through the Royal Roads University property. I will be back in March and again in the future as it was a really nice experience.
It's difficult to put into words the kindness and hospitality that Deider, Paphanda and their amazing B&B offer. The cleanliness, tranquillity, stunning and relaxing views are beyond what I could have asked for at a very challenging and difficult time in my life. The warm energy that their home and suites offer is one of the best experiences I've had in almost 60 years. I was a last minute booking and they went above and beyond to accommodate me for 5 nights. Paphada's morning warm muffins are delightfully decadent. Her vegetable broth is something I will be able to take with me - like a hot comforting Tea. I cannot thank these 2 beautiful people enough for the kindness, and comforting warmth they Exude !! Karen
