Visiting Seattle from England and went to Victoria for a couple of days. Loved our stay here, so characterful and amazing view from our bedroom - so much nicer than the usual corporate hotels, would definitely return - and so pretty at night when lit up. Breakfast was great, a really unusual way of serving breakfast! So convenient to the ferry and just a short walk into the city centre.

This 19th Century pile still holds its’ own against the backdrop of its’ large, more modern sister hotel, the Huntingdon. The building is a mixture of towers, balconies and terraces, with the interior being no less ostentatious with its’ numerous tasteful dining/tea rooms, hallways and cosy reception area complete with Victorian fireplace. Our room, the Garden Room, was off to one side of the hall upstairs. Although less palatial than some of the more spacious suites, it was nevertheless comfortable with a view of the garden and indeed had been recently refurbished with a cool, turquoise décor. The place still feels like it is primarily a tea room. When we arrived, we were directed to the Huntingdon in order to complete ‘check-in’ procedures. Indeed, within the Pendray, outside breakfast and tea times it was often difficult to locate any staff. The reception area felt almost an after-thought with very little in the way of tourist information in evidence. This was in contrast to tea-times when the Pendray was busy with people come for its renowned “afternoon” tea although this actually started at 11 am. It was a similar routine at breakfast, although less frenetic, as residents choose from a variety of fixed-price options. Both afternoon tea and breakfast are similar in nature but very good nonetheless. The manager is definitely in charge with other staff given little latitude to show initiative, which can be a little frustrating at times when it is busy. Housekeeping staff are efficient and obliging. The open-air car park can be busy, but there is a garage.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Pendray Inn and Tea House. We're delighted to hear that you appreciated the historic charm of our establishment and enjoyed the amenities we offer, including our afternoon tea and breakfast options. Firstly, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your check-in. While we usually have a Concierge at Pendray, on certain occasions when we are short staffed, check-in is temporarily moved to our sister property, Huntingdon Manor. Thank you for your understanding. We want to ensure a seamless experience for all our guests from the moment they arrive. Your comments about the management style and the challenges it can pose during busy periods are also valuable. We strive to empower our staff to provide exceptional service. We're pleased that our housekeeping staff met your expectations and that the culinary offerings added to your enjoyment. At Pendray Inn, we aim to provide a unique experience combining historical charm with contemporary hospitality. Once again, thank you for choosing Pendray Inn and Tea House, and for your valuable feedback. We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back soon and providing an even more exceptional stay. Warm regards, Mercedes Granados Front Desk Manager

We stayed two nights at the Pendray Inn. Our room was lovely. We had a balcony with a view of the harbor and the Inn is across the street from the Ferry Terminal. It is very convenient to downtown restaurants and activities. They brought tea to our room after they assisted us to our room. The bed was comfortable and we had a sitting room as well as the bedroom. We had a great stay!

While at the inn, spotted a rodent running around the foyer and dinning room. Also very bad animal odour in Queen Ann suite. Complained to management and showed video of rodent running running around. Offered 50% off our last night there as we no longer wanted to sleep with rodents and stated they would charge me the cancellation fee. Told me that since they are near the ocean I should expect to see rats and mice. Photo attached is from the video I took of the scurrying fellow. Very poor service would not recommend

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Pendray Inn. I deeply regret the unexpected sighting of a mouse in our dining room. During the recent heatwave, we prioritized the comfort of our guests by keeping the doors open for better air circulation. Our inn, given its proximity to the harbour, historic nature, and surrounding gardens, can occasionally face challenges like this, especially when wildlife seeks respite from extreme conditions. We have robust pest control measures in place, and the occurrence you witnessed was certainly an exception, not the norm. Our team's response, waiving the cancellation fee and offering a 50% discount on your last night's stay, was a sincere attempt to acknowledge and address the situation. I would also like to address the mention of "animal odour" in the Queen Ann suite. This is the first we're hearing of it, and it was not brought to our attention during your stay. We take all feedback seriously and will certainly look into this. We appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts. Kind Regards, Mercedes Granados, Front Desk Manager

If you're wondering, don't wonder..just stay here..its a delightful place..rooms are decorated handsomely and are large..the beds are so soft and we had great night's sleeps.. The breakfast comes with it and they run a Tea Room so your breakfast is presented like a High Tea..we had fresh fruit, small quiches and small omelets..oh and I can't forget the delicious scones and croissants.. Their reception girl, I've forgotten her name but it starts with a G, was exceptional..also Emma and Annie helped with luggage. They will order taxis and tell you good places to eat..

Excellent High Tea. Outstanding service and food. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff in a historic setting. Less fussy than some of the other tea service you find in Victoria. If you are coming from the US ferry, it's just across the street, kitty corner.

My best friend and I shared afternoon tea at Pendray Inn for International Women’s Day and we have nothing but good to say about our experience. The food was top notch! The chocolate raspberry cake was incredible and the scones with cream and preserves were light as air! Our server Megan was friendly, funny and ever so accommodating. We enjoyed our tea so much that we broke our fast at the Inn for the next two days of our holiday. Our husbands even enjoyed the wonderful food and witty banter. In my experience, wearing a mask does not give the visible smile one might expect but amegan’s eyes sparkled with humour and fun. Thank you to chef for the glorious food and to Megan for the laughs, witty banter and overall great service. We will be back for sure..

Pendray House is the perfect location for visiting family once a year in Washington. Right across from the Blackball Ferry line to Port Angeles, within walking distance of the parliament buildings, restaurants and Fishermen's Wharf. The hotel is very Victorian, quite charming and comfortably accommodating with professional staff to complete an excellent stay.

An elegantly designed hotel, with some nice amenities, but in need of some updated maintenance. We had a very nice spacious room with partial views of Victoria Inner Harbour. The bed was wonderful and nicely furnished. The bathroom was well appointed. The room was several flights upstairs, and had a beautiful wooden staircase. Fortunately, a nice young man carried up our luggage. As far as updates, the room lacked air conditioning, and it would have helped greatly if the windows had been dual paned to keep out the heat and outdoor noise. It is evident that the exterior is in need of a paint job. A wonderful three tier breakfast was a great edition to our stay. They needed some help at the front desk, one the lady we dealt with was very nice, but had a very thick accent that made it difficult to understand. We had to go to a neighboring hotel to check out, because no one was at the front desk at the time.

Dear ww11hort, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your stay with us. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and we are happy that we could make your stay memorable with our stylish breakfast and unique comfortable rooms. As you stated we have a Concierge on site at the Pendray inn who helps guests with check-in and luggage. However, at times due to labour limitations, check-in or check-out may be done by the Front Desk at the Huntingdon Manor which is adjacent. We appreciate your point on the exterior paintwork and in fact there are several restoration projects planned during our off season and hopefully you will see a rejuvenated Inn in your next stay with us. With regards to the air conditioning, since it is a heritage property and due to several obstructions, there are some difficulties having air conditioning at the Inn. However, we value your feedback as this helps us to improve our services. We look forward to hosting you again in the future! Kind Regards, The Team at Pendray Inn & Huntingdon Manor
