Spent a wonderful evening having a great pre theatre meal at your cosy Art Deco Cafe. We were met at the foyer by a gentleman name Hedy who recognised us from the day earlier. Nice touch! Our meals were superb and reasonably price. Excellent service from Conor our server for making our evening extra special. JBI is a small jem in the heart of Victoria, I highly recommend it. My background was the hotel business. FJ

Perfect location and very clean! The front desk staff are super helpful and friendly. Parking is included. Breakfast diner downstairs was amazing. Would definitely stay here again! There is no elevator though, so make sure you can handle your luggage up the stairs. We were prepared for this :)

Stayed 1 night in James Bay Inn. Sympa hotel. Very kind and helpful reception. Basic room, but clean. No fridge in the room, no kettle. But every morning there is free coffee and tea and water at the reception. At our floor, there was a small, common balcony, a nice place for some relax. Location of the hotel is very good, you can visit all the important things on foot. It is very close to Beacon Hill Park and to the Parliament and BC Museum. A short hike to Chinatown and a nice walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Public transport busses stop at about 600 m from the hotel (BC Transit busses to Duncan and to Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal). A big supermarket is at about the same distance. Restaurants nearby. Can recommend the hotel for a short stay.

Just WOW. Yes it’s old - very old! And a bit quirky. No cookie cutter hotel, this is a true gem. Very nice decor in the lobby, full of Emily Carr knock offs. Rooms were comfortable, quiet, everything worked as it should. It is handy to all touristy things one can find in Victoria. Parliament buildings, museum, inner harbour, Fisherman’s Wharf, Beacon Hill Park. And Hedy is the host with the most - he definitely added a lot to our JBI experience. Charming, funny and helpful. He was always making sure we were happy and made us feel well cared for. We were a group of 9, with 3 rooms and a suite. The suite was a great place to gather our troop together before and after our many outings. Highly recommend this hotel!

We had dinner in the restaurant at 5pm. There were 4 ( 2 couples) and the meals , atmosphere and prices were excellent. Both myself and my brother in law had liver and onions because few restaurants serve this item. We agreed that it was perfectly cooked and presented. The service was excellent. They have a senior’s menu which we ordered from and it was enough food for me.We will return next time we’re in Victoria for sure.

Spent 3 nights in this great spot. Easy walk to downtown, located in lovely neighborhood (horse drawn carriages up and down the street) and off the beaten track. Family owned and operated by great staff. Restaurant on site with wonderful staff and a real neighborhood feel. We weren’t aware of the vast range of room sizes so next time we’re there we will choose something larger. The deck on the second floor overlooking the street is a great place to start or finish your day of activities in this wonderful city. The

An incredibly historic property with its own little quirks. We stayed here for a night during our trip to Vancouver Island and it was perfect for spending the night. Rooms are small but more than makes up for it with its ambience and friendly staff. Parking can be a bit of a challenge with the James Bay Inn being extremely popular!

We stayed 2 nights at this old but well-maintained place which housed a hotel and pub. Special mention to Roy who checked us in. He carried our luggage up the flight of stairs. He shared with us places to visit and arranged for his colleague to carry our bags down when we left. It is conveniently located and historic because of the painted copies of Emily Carr.
