Stayed at the Inn for one night - good location, about a 10 minute walk to the harbour along a good street. Room is fine, the hotel is quite dated and the exterior is lovely but I think the inside could do with a little...More
The hotel was $159/night and we assumed it was a nice Victorian inn/bed and breakfast type place. Cozy and quaint. well, It isn't. It is adequate. That's about it. It is waaay overpriced for the quality. I have stayed in everything from tents to 5...More
The James Bay Inn is affordable and close to downtown. The restaurant/pub located on the lower floor offered great food at a reasonable price. The Inn and rooms are clean and though they don't offer air conditioning, there was a a nice breeze blowing in...More
James Bay Inn is an older charming hotel. Unbeatable in price for it's location in Victoria.
It's only a 10min walk to the inner harbor/downtown area and a 15min walk to the fishermans wharf.
Quite location in a nice neighborhood.

No air conditioning. Rooms have fans and the windows open. Victoria seldom gets hot enough for air conditioning. It's hardly ever humid. As the temperature goes up, the humidity goes down. Temperature drops rapidly at sunset. It's a very comfortable climate. It rarely goes above 30C/90F and there is usually a breeze off the ocean that moderates. I never missed air conditioning at the James Bay Inn or when I lived in the city for 10 years.
