The hotel was an awesome experience. We were able to check in early, customer service was a plus! The room we stayed in was perfect in every way shape or form. I highly recommend this hotel because of the excellent service and is located near all points of interest. no car needed if your spending your time in the city.

I have stayed at 'the Strath' in the past, so disregarding all the bad reviews on here lately I stayed again last week with my granddaughter. We went to Vic for a shopping trip, one night only. The front desk clerk we had on check in (Malcolm) was very rude to me, he treated me like I was a second...

We have often walked pass this heritage hotel and felt it was about time to give it a try. The initial ambiance - front lobby and staff, the room hallway were fantastic a great wow factor, The disappointment came in the bedroom. We had a small queen bed room on the 5th floor, the room was all a darkish solid...

Thank you for your review. Yes we continue to improve our property including a major renovation for 8 rooms this year. Part of this renovation is taking 8 room and reducing them to 4 rooms to allow for better seating space. The Hotel property is now 100 years young but when it was built room sizes were designed much smaller....

Let me start by saying that i do not usually write reviews on Tripadvisor but felt compelled to write this after my experience at this hotel yesterday evening. We paid extra to have what the front desk staff described as a "quiet room" only to discover that there is no such thing in this hotel which has a nightclub below...

This is a beautiful old hotel in the heart of the city. We found it charming upon check in. That was before the noise started. Our room was just above street level, directly over the pub downstairs. The noise was so loud we might as well have been inside the pub! Why the staff did not warn us about this...

LuckyGal, Thank you for your review. We are located in the downtown core and noise is always an issue. We do try to place our guests in the best accommodations possible unfortunately if we have a busy day of accommodations not all guests can be placed on the quietest side of the building.

We were recently in Victoria for a concert and this hotel was the perfect location for the downtown core, and the arena for the concert. When we arrived i was impressed by location, and the look of the hotel. Very old which is cool, and under reconstruction to update things, but that wasn't a problem. Our room on the 3rd...

Stayed at this hotel for a conference next door. Smells of booze by pub downstairs. Weyerhaeuser loud at night from the pub despite desk staff saying we're far away. To top off, my car was towed from their parking lot cuz we were out one digit on the license plate, also despite make, model and color included in a 30...

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever seen. Upon my first arrival the out side of the building is a very old heritage building, with homeless people begging for change right outside the front doors. Going upstairs to see our room, we found the room in a disgusting state with God knows what on the headboard? 😕...

I would say that the best part about this hotel was its location-right in the middle of downtown. Other than that, I would probably never stay there again. Our room was pretty gross, as it seemed like it had never been cleaned. During your stay, nobody will clean your room. They will give you some new water glasses, but that's...

We stayed two nights at this centrally located older hotel. The front desk staff are very efficient and friendly. The daily continental breakfast which is included in the price of the room, is a great way to start your day. They serve waffles, muffins, toast, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruits, juice and tea/coffee. We stayed on the 5th floor, our...
