Okay, so the hotel is dated and the rooms are overall average. The location is away from downtown, but only a short uber or a bus ride away. But, I cannot say enough about Margaret at the front desk who checked us in. We had originally booked only a Friday night as Saturday was sold out. However, upon arrival, not only did she find us another room, but we were able to stay in the same room for two nights. Also, she circled a bunch of fun things to do on the map and made our stay in Victoria even better. We didn't expect it but they made up the room even between the first and second night. Anyway, the staff gets five stars! We will be back.
The check in process was quick and the staff were super friendly. The room has been decently upgraded but the cleanliness was a big miss. There were cobwebs stringing from the ceiling to the wall throughout, all over the lamps beside the beds, a large splatter on the wall from a drink (Which was the first thing i saw walking in...), hair in the tub, sink and floors. The bed was very uncomfortable and all you could feel was springs. there were multiple birds sitting on the air conditioning unit right outside our window at 5 am screaming their heads off and the neighbouring unit would repeatedly slam their door multiple times at 6 am. The birds mixed with slamming doors mixed with uncomfortable beds made for a terrible sleep. The hotel was under construction, so the pool was closed but didnt effect us. Overall for the price point the hotel would be my last resort as i would rather pay more to be able to have a good night sleep and knowing the shower was clean. …
Stayed here for 2 nights. The water temperature for shower is not turn on well. I turn on both hot and cold, it's still not warm enough. I turn off the cold water, still not getting hotter. It's suddenly extremely hot and suddenly cold. Horrible! I can't take a nice warm shower after my long walk at the city. But thankfully the property is quite and I can sleep well. The pool is closed tho. The concierge man wasn't nice. He didn't even ask for my ID to check in to the room and didn't tell me where was the room. He only give me my room keys and bye bye.
I chose this hotel because of the pool and it was closed for renovations which can happen but maybe that can be said soon reservation. Then our room that I was in with my 9 year old daughter was located next to the back door of the pub. Where people were out smoking and yell talking into the wee hours. Lastly, there were silver fish. I showered immediately when I got home and washed all the clothing we had brought. Gross!
If you are happy being a little out of main Victoria this hotel has a great position on the Gorge with easy bus, bike or walking access into Victoria and out on the trails. Good facilities including pool, gym and sauna. Kitchen in room is very useful. It is motel style with rooms on three levels accessed by outside stairs. Mine had a great view and dog walking park right next to it too.. If someone is in room above it can be a little noisy if they are an active group!
Front desk staff was amazing. I'm not sure if I have the name correct but I believe it was Brandon. He was lovely. Good staff is hard to find these days. It was so nice to hear someone sounding like they truly enjoyed their job and the hotel industry
We stay here every time we come to Victoria. Love the Loft and live music. Location is perfect - even if you don’t have a car, public transportation is at your doorstep. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy and even though there is live music - you don’t hear it at all in the rooms. Very quiet! The motel is well run and the staff are exceptional.
I went on a family trip and booked here. From the looks of the pics it seemed like a great place to stay. First thing I saw was a hooker get picked up in the front. The balcony has rotting beams. Really terrible area to be in. Pay the extra and go DT. No place to be with kids. The ceiling in the pool looks like it’s going to come down. There is no elevator in this place. The staff are great.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for our first time. We were greeted by a lovely lady named Margaret at the front desk. She told us wonderful stories of Oreo the cat. He was snoozing but let us pet him. We gave Oreo a toy but he was more interested in sleeping lol. Margaret gave us some travel tips and places we should visit. The hotel was clean and quiet. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Thank you Margaret for such good customer service and your kindness. We recommend this hotel to others.
I was quoted a very good room rate. When I arrived I was told that had been a mistake and the room rate I was quoted was not honoured. The room itself needed cosmetic repairs and needed a more thorough cleaning (there were spider webs in a corner of the room). Also it was noisy. The quality of the room was bearable for the rate quoted but the rate was not honoured.
