This was our third visit/stay at Wit’s End Retreat, but our first in three years because of the pandemic and Covid-19 restrictions. We stayed for four days/nights in June 2022, and it is as peaceful, quiet, relaxing and beautiful as ever. We were thrilled to be back. We love the beautiful grounds with all the flowers, trees, plants, birds, and even rabbits. Heather keeps your room neat and scrupulously clean, and she is so friendly and helpful. But maybe my favorite part this year were the great breakfasts prepared by Sandy: home-made French toast, perfectly cured and cooked bacon, fresh squeezed fruit juices, Sandy’s own granola with fresh fruit and yogurt, grilled grapefruit, apple crepes, omelets, bennies, and Heather’s poached pears. Everything…everything was delicious. Do yourself a favor and book a stay at the Wit’s End Retreat. I highly recommend it, and you won’t be sorry.…
You must stay with Heather and Sandy in this incredibly beautiful B&B steps from the ocean and situated on immaculate gardens amoungst the trees. The hosts are so warm and welcoming, you'll feel like your staying with family. The suite had everything you could want and more including delicious homemade treats and wine at check in. The breakfasts blew us away, BEST FRENCH TOAST EVER! On homemade bread from Sandy! Everything felt so luxiourious and relaxed, we wish we could have stayed longer! We won't be shy about booking again soon! The little details go a long way to make you comfortable and feel special. Finally, I have to mention the three amazing Gloden Retrievers that were so sweet and well behaved, we miss them already! Do not hesitate to book this amazing stay. It truly felt incredibly refreshing and fun.…
We spent two nights at The Wits End and absolutely loved it! The grounds were beautiful. The hosts were gracious. And the breakfasts were so delicious, The wits end is located next to a beach park that offers magnificent views of the Olympic Mountain range. We will definitely be back!
What a place to stay! Heather and Sandy make you feel like you're coming home. The grounds are gorgeous and so peaceful, with so much wildlife, and the room itself is homey and cozy. The tub is a must if you enjoy a nice hot soak! And Sandy's breakfast is absolutely to die for. Can't wait to come back! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
This was our third time staying at this gorgeous property, and we can’t wait to go back. It is so tranquil and comfortable, surrounded by glorious gardens. The room is spacious, private and extremely well appointed. The gourmet breakfasts are outstanding and set us up for a whole day of activity. There was so much to see and do within easy reach, and plenty of places nearby for dinner. The best thing about this place, though, are the wonderful hosts, Heather and Sandy, who do everything they can to ensure you will have a truly memorable stay. I wish I were back there right now!
We spent a night at Heather and Sandy's wonderful B and B on Easter weekend and were so glad that we did. Everything was first class from the friendly hosts to the beautiful well appointed, spacious suite to the heavenly breakfast. Their property is amazing and access to Witty's Lagoon Beach is just across the street. We can't wait to go back and see Heather's gardens in full bloom and enjoy another of Sandy's delicious breakfasts.
We don’t want to stay anywhere else because they just won’t measure up. Sandy and Heather have set the bar SO high, it would be a challenge for others to even meet this! It doesn’t matter where you start: the Hosts, the room, the food, the grounds, the location, the serenity, the spaciousness of all of this. WOW! We’re already booked in for another visit. I honestly can’t say enough about this place! Heather and Sandy have a love for what they do and it shows so radiantly, you can’t help but stand back and just bask in it. Love, love, love.
The most lovely suite I've ever stayed in. Fabulous location. Wonderful couple. Amazing gourmet breakfast. Incredibly comfortable bed, bath, furniture. Completely quiet and private. Hoping to find an excuse to visit the South Island again so I can stay there.
March 15 - 17 2022 We were on the Island on a golf outing arranged by BC Golf for some early season rounds (we live in still snowy Oakville, Ontario). My wife stumbled across the Wit’s End Retreat website and was captivated by the pictures of the gardens and grounds so we tacked some days on to our trip to stay here. But website in no way conveys the actual reality of this little corner of paradise by the sea. Heather and Sandy are warm, welcoming and helpful. Sandy’s breakfasts with home cured bacon, eggs from a nearby farm and his home made bread are as good as it ever gets. Or for that matter, can be. The garden was rousing from its slumber, lenten roses everywhere, competing with daffodils and almost bursting rhododendron buds in their early spring splendour. Hummingbirds flitting back and forth to the feeders. All in all a very felicitous find and we will certainly be back soon. GG…
Amazing location a short walk to the ocean. Beautiful manicured grounds in a pristine natural setting. A Quiet and peaceful it is a retreat! The hosts are amazing. The food is gourmet. The hosts both obviously enjoy their roles. They have winkley eyes.
