I forget the name of the Concierge (I think Louis).. HES AMAZING! So helpful, kind and informative. The property is in a great location and has a pool which is always a bonus! We walked everywhere which was really nice.
Great, clean hotel and it’s been updated. Really nice location just behind the Empress. We got 2 conjoined rooms which was perfect for our family- 2 adults and 3 kids. There was no coffee in the lobby but Starbucks was steps from the hotel. Good service, although we didn’t need much while we were there. Overall a great stay and I’d definitely stay again!
We drove most of the trip saying less it was not a fun experience that we expected or wanted it to be. Front desk was not very welcoming. and felt that we were a nuisance…. Thankfully that turned around when we got to the M lounge. I was feeling un settled for the price I had paid but it was all worth it in the end. we were greeted by the lounge tendee if I’m correct her name was Rachael? She offered us delicious cookies and beverages to warm up… as well as gave us knowledge about the lounge and what fun we can have around Victoria. she made us feel very welcome and warm. We got used to the fact that hospitality has died until we met her! She seemed happy to see us and help us with anything we needed. Not just us… the lounge was busy and she was very attentive to everyone. it felt nice surrounded in a room of people having a good time. we even made a few new friends. I would give 5 stars but it really felt like 10. the halibut was delicious shoutout to the chefs!! Leaving and we won’t forget this experience. already looking forward to coming back!…
We stayed 2 nights in a club king room, 14th floor. The room and bed were very comfortable, clean spacious x well provided, the club upgrade means you have access to the club lounge for included breakfast early morning, tea x coffee during the day x light buffet snacks early evening which were great. Couple of things to be aware of, unlike most other hotels, this club room does not provide free alcohol. Also the hotel name is slightly misleading, it maybe be just inside the inner harbour area, but has no views of the harbour and is approximately 10 mins walk from the harbour, this didn't spoil our stay but us worth knowing.
We waited 10 - 15 minutes for dinner service in bar while waiters entertained each other. It looked like hotel had no management on that day which was a Thurs. evening. We have stayed at the Marriott for years and never saw this type of service. We will start staying elsewhere till they get proper management .
I just wanted to shout out one of the kindest and most generous and sincere gestures I have ever experienced from any hotel employee - maybe ever...! While sitting in the M club lounge; I mentioned a local favorite candy - Wine Gums - and the folks in the lounge hadn't heard of them. So I teased them and said how much I like them. The young man in the lounge, Boyan, went out and found some wine gums to bring back to me! Wow, what a kind gesture... That is what I call going above and beyond!
What a disappointment. We had booked for two days using the Bonvoy App, checked-in the room on the app as requested by the system. Yet, when we arrived early evening, the hotel manager had given “our room” away — yes, our guaranteed room on high floor as my app indicated to “someone else”. The M club for Titanium members here is a joke— an empty room all day with four pieces of gummy worms first come first serve. Breakfast in the AM is the only food provided and much worse than a Fairfield Inn spread. You can hardly even find the musty smelling RO water bottles. The rooms and bathrooms are also old and a musty smell comes from the bath sink. Was overall my worst Marriott experience. Never again.
We had an excellent two night stay at this Marriott. It is located right downtown, convenient walking distance to many things. Our room was on the top floor (concierge floor), in the corner with a balcony, we had a beautiful view, and the room was quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. We used the on-site parking. By the second night, the hotel was very busy, so we were able to park since we had a reserved space while others couldn’t. The front desk staff was welcoming. The M Lounge breakfast was very good, with fresh pastries and nice fruit. The lounge staff was very nice. My only complaint was that there was no regard for social distancing on the elevators, and people would crowd on without masks. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.
Requested hotel staff to come unclog our slow draining sink, never got a follow up. Tried again with no avail. Guest are not a priority here. Would not come here again and would not advise others to book here too.
It is 24 minutes past midnight and I just called the front desk to report excessive noise from the room above me. For the last 90 minutes, I have been unable to sleep due to excessive screaming and floor stomping. The front desk attendant seemed agitated that I called. I told her that if the noise persisted, I would call the local police. She scolded me telling me that a noise complaint was not an emergency and that I should not call the police. She then informed me that there were other complaints and that someone was enroute to handle the situation. At what point do guests have the right to act like hooligans, disturbing other patrons. My experience at this hotel was a disappointment.
