Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights whilst backpacking. I have noticed a lot of the reviews on here are negative, however can I firstly say you get what you pay for. This is a cheap hostel, I don't know why people are expecting a 5* experience. I don't have any complaints as it was a low cost...

Stayed recently for one night in this hostel. Given bed linen, no towels, if you wanted a towel you have to rent them. About a 10 minute walk to the centre of things, not far and close to the bus stop to the ferry. Had to give a $10 key deposit. Interesting hostel, one night was pretty much enough for...

I was recently in search of a place to stay in Victoria...for a future tenant awaiting his room in my house to become available. He was from far away so I offered to do the telephoning. It was a weekend and everywhere was booked but I encountered a most disturbing interaction. Wanting to find him the least expensive option, I...

We stayed for one night in a private room. The room was dirty and noisy, the sheets were definitely not changed, there were hairs on the sheets and they charge for towels. The location is fair, 20 minutes walk from downtown. We needed to leave early in the morning I had to give the keys back by 11 pm the...

A very nice place near the center of Victoria. It's a very charming hostel painted in bright colors. Very cheap! The only bad thing was the short beds. Very friendly and helpful staff with a large knowledge about the city. Showers were nice and clean. 😊

The low price is not worth the dirt and awful beds. They have these vinyl covers on the mattresses which probably haven't been replaced in decades. The sheets are so cheap the fitted one comes loose every time you move so you find yourself on the gross vinyl covering all night. I really believe the owner is beginning to lose...

The (only) good thing : location is close to downtown. The rest : bedroom very dirty, dust on the mattresses, bathrooms are probably never cleaned (i will avoid details here), the common kitchen looks pretty dirty too, and the constant smell of wet dog all over the hostel. The owners were nice to us, but it's not enough. This place...

We stayed in a private room at Turtle Hostel. Sue was very kind and welcoming and our room was clean and the showers were hot. Everything we could ask for. Would recommend it anyone when coming to Victoria. Close to downtown and where you want to be. Cheap yet value for money.

So I stayed here for a couple of weeks in February. It was the cheapest place in town and for that, you get exactly your money's worth. I don't know if this place is as bad as some of the other reviewers would say, but they're not entirely innacurate. The place is small, old and dreary. The colour scheme is...

If you need a really cheap place just to sleep and take a shower, this is it. If you're looking for comfort or partying, don't go there. Pros: - cheap! - walking distance from downtown/harbour - restrooms sufficiently clean - discounts for whale watching and other activities - Free Wi-Fi, working satisfactorily Cons: - must keep absolutely quiet after 11pm...
