Fort Victoria RV Park is a large, well established Park in View Royal, one of the municipalities making up Greater Victoria. They have a good variety of back-in and pull thru sites to accommodate most rigs. The Park is well maintained. The sites are well leveled gravel. The central washroom, shower and laundry facility is modern and clean. We found the wi-fi and other services to all work well. There is good access to trails for hiking and biking. All shopping services are close at hand.
We have stayed here a few times over the years and have always been satisfied. That staff has been helpful and accommodating. Recently we had a booking which we had to cancel due to winter travel conditions through Christmas. It was only a minimal cancellation fee and they offered safe travels and hope to see us again soon. It’s a convenient location for visiting family and friends in the area. For us it’s a safe place to park with services. We would like to try a few other locations but will always consider Fort Victoria RV Park as an alternative.
I felt so bad since Jennifer was not friendly during my stay. However, I chose to forgive. Anyway, other people in reception are all friendly, in particular, a young guy was very helpful to fix my internet issue. You can't expect everyone has good emotions every day. How uglyJennifer! I came back to Victoria after almost a month of travelling, we want to continue to stay with Fort Victoria. And I got a call from this lady who said I am not welcome. My good experience with Vancouver Island was all ruined by her and decide to leave right away.
We saved the best for last! Wow! Not one negative thing I can say about this park. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The booking process was easy and stress-free. The site are clean and big, we have a 34’ motor home with one huge slide and we fit easily. When we discovered that we could not get on the ferry the day we had planned to check out, I asked if we could stay an extra night, and although it is terribly busy, they managed to squeeze us in. We did have to change sites, but not a big deal. The amenities are all excellent, they have a spacious laundry room, with 12 washers and 12 dryers. The bathrooms are spotless, and are thoroughly cleaned every day. The biggest surprise was they actually have wifi, not wifi that only works when you are close to the office, no, wifi that works everywhere and it is super fast too. A perfect campground. I would definitely recommend Fort Victoria RV park to anyone visiting Victoria.…
I stayed again but got a great spot this time we were so happy about. Except it was the spot behind the houses. Then i read the post that is gone now (???) about loud folks as i was checking out this website. I walked the neighborhood and it is house ^^5 and i am shocked at how loud they really are at that house. i heard all the conversations i didn't want too . some loud folks in the park too but most are kind and quiet.. these folks a family were very annoying. i won't be coming back to that spot either. ever again.. just don't get that spot, get one farther away....
We called a few months before to reserve a stall for the winter. We have travelled extensively throughout our years. So we have seen a lot of RV parks. We arrived a day before our scheduled arrival date. Not a problem. The staff are so friendly and helpful. All through the reservation process, check in and daily questions and help the office staff and maintainence staff are so accommodating and make you feel right at home. The stalls are well maintained. And it is peaceful. No partying neighbours.the washroom are so clean....REALLY CLEAN. Hot showers, heated floors to step out of shower!! The laundry is excellent. This is our first year of retirement and we wanted to try a winter without snow. To our delight, they have a 55 plus group right in the park. They meet for breakfast, cards and pot lucks. But the bonus was that my husband is a wood carver, they have a woodworking shop here for 55 plus and a 55 plus building for their functions. We are here for the remainder of the winter but are already going to book for next winter. Shopping.... within 10 min away is Costco, Canadian Tire, Walmart, Superstore, Homedepot and lots more. It is a perfect location. I rate this a 10 out of 10 RV Park. I 100% RECOMMEND Fort Victoria RV Park. We even decorated our stall for Christmas. Thanks Fort Victoria RV Park for making our first winter of retirement so amazing.…
A very nice RV park, well laid out with spacious sites, most arranged for easy parking. Washroom is very clean, but water temperature and pressure seems to depend on the shower stall. Friendly, helpful staff. No fire pits. Nice playground for the kids. Good location, Real Canadian Superstore , Walmart 7 kms, Canadian Tire 2 kms
I booked a 3 night stay for a motor home as a base to visit the city and beyond. The registration process was painless and the staff friendly staff and although the pitch was on the small side it was ok. The washrooms were fine and enough that there was rarely any wait. There’s a large laundry room. To visit the city there’s a bus stop close by and the details can be obtained from the site office. There are shops and restaurants within 5 minute drive. The WiFi was very slow and intermittent. I’ve seen some mixed reviews but I only experienced a well run clean and tidy site. I’d recommend this to anyone.
Not a bad site. Clean and tidy. As other reviews state the WiFi is very intermittent and can be frustrating. The staff were nice and offered to upgrade wifi to the ‘pay monthly’ version but it wasn’t any better sadly. Good location for town access - day bus pass only $5 per person.
Fort Victoria is a large, well-organized RV park several miles from downtown Victoria. We learned that the current owners are the third generation in the family that created the park. At one point it was intended as a museum about the original Fort Victoria and there are a few structures that are reminiscent of the 19th Century fort, which was actually sited downtown. There's a bike path that runs alongside the park. There's only one central bathroom and laundry, but all of the sites have full hook-ups so that doesn't matter much. I couldn't get my laptop onto the wi-fi for love nor money although my husband had no difficulty. We enjoyed visiting with some of the other campers, who came from all over the world.
