Fort Victoria RV Park is a large, well established Park in View Royal, one of the municipalities making up Greater Victoria.
They have a good variety of back-in and pull thru sites to accommodate most rigs.
The Park is well maintained. The sites are well leveled gravel. The central washroom, shower and laundry facility is modern and clean.
We found the wi-fi and other services to all work well.
There is good access to trails for hiking and biking. All shopping services are close at hand.

We have stayed here a few times over the years and have always been satisfied. That staff has been helpful and accommodating. Recently we had a booking which we had to cancel due to winter travel conditions through Christmas. It was only a minimal cancellation fee and they offered safe travels and hope to see us again soon.

It’s a convenient location for visiting family and friends in the area. For us it’s a safe place to park with services. We would like to try a few other locations but will always consider Fort Victoria RV Park as an alternative.

We saved the best for last! Wow! Not one negative thing I can say about this park. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The booking process was easy and stress-free. The site are clean and big, we have a 34’ motor home with one huge slide and we fit easily. When we discovered that we could not get on the ferry the day we had planned to check out, I asked if we could stay an extra night, and although it is terribly busy, they managed to squeeze us in. We did have to change sites, but not a big deal. The amenities are all excellent, they have a spacious laundry room, with 12 washers and 12 dryers. The bathrooms are spotless, and are thoroughly cleaned every day. The biggest surprise was they actually have wifi, not wifi that only works when you are close to the office, no, wifi that works everywhere and it is super fast too. A perfect campground. I would definitely recommend Fort Victoria RV park to anyone visiting Victoria.

Perfect place to visit the Victoria region and southern Van. Is. It is on the E&N Rail trail and 1km from the Galloping Goose for biking and walking. The staff is friendly and helpful, facilities are spotless. The sites are large and well-groomed. This was our base of operations for touring, biking, and kayaking for 4 weeks. Wi-Fi was fast, and cable TV was great. We highly recommend Fort Victoria RV.

I felt so bad since Jennifer was not friendly during my stay. However, I chose to forgive. Anyway, other people in reception are all friendly, in particular, a young guy was very helpful to fix my internet issue. You can't expect everyone has good emotions every day. How uglyJennifer! I came back to Victoria after almost a month of travelling, we want to continue to stay with Fort Victoria. And I got a call from this lady who said I am not welcome. My good experience with Vancouver Island was all ruined by her and decide to leave right away.

I stayed again but got a great spot this time we were so happy about.
Except it was the spot behind the houses. Then i read the post that is gone now (???) about loud folks as i was checking out this website.
I walked the neighborhood and it is house ^^5 and i am shocked at how loud they really are at that house. i heard all the conversations i didn't want too .
some loud folks in the park too but most are kind and quiet..
these folks a family were very annoying. i won't be coming back to that spot either. ever again.. just don't get that spot, get one farther away....

Hello, Thanks for your review although it's more for the neighborhood and less for the actual park. However, I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay! I'm not sure what happened to that post (and the one right before it as well) as we didn't delete it. Hopefully we can get you in a different spot if you decide to come back.

Worst Park ever... Located next to the highway and is completely paved with concrete. Not a good camp like setting at all. The men's bathroom smells, and the hand dryer does not work.
The manager is completely rude and unpleasant, made me leave due to the fact that my children were playing and riding bikes at the park. Also drives around the park in his red truck and stares at everyone making everyone feel uncomfortable and or like they are doing something wrong. The only thing he is concerned with is getting his money and getting you out asap.
Dogs on site barking and fighting constantly.
The only good thing I can say about this park is the free showers which are hot and powerful. But that is hardly a reason to stay at this unwelcoming Park.

Awesome campground! Very clean and always a warm shower. Great clean laundry facilities and reasonable priced. Bit of a stretch to downtown but it's worth the drive. Great staff too! Was a pleasure to stay there and will definitely be back!! Only bummer.... No fires!
Easy to get to beaches or lakes around the area.

We have been here in September on our RV trip through West Canada. For our stay in Victoria we were looking for a campground close to downtown Victoria. There are not so many options and luckily we choose this one.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I called a day before to make sure we will get a site and even I wasn't sure if we would arrive in time, it wasn't any issue. I was told, they will leave a note on the office door, where our site would be. Great, no worries for me.
We had several questions about the bus connection and whale watching and everything was answered and arranged.
The campground is locate west of downtown but has a great bus connection which takes you within 20 min to downtown. This was great for us, so we didn't have to drive with the RV into town.
The sites are decent for a city campground. Our site was easy to access and all connection have been there. Yes, sites are not as spacious as in a national park campground, but people, we are in a city! Compared to European campground, this is really space enough.
There is a highway close by but I didn't hear anything from it. But the campground is big, maybe depends where you are.
Washroom is good, was nicely heated, very clean and nice showers. There is also a laundry room, but this I haven't checked out in detail as we didn't have to do our laundry there.
Also on our last day the staff was really nice. We had booked a whale watching tour for the morning and they gave us a site to park our RV so we didn't have to take this to town but could leave it there as long as we wanted. This was great.

Overall a really good campground if you want to explore Victoria. The connection to Downtown is easy and fast. And Victoria is a cute city worth a visit.

Answer from FortVictoriaRV
Victoria, Canada
We do have quiet sites in the middle of the park that would be away from the highway and playground. Barbecues are allowed. It generally takes around 20 minutes to drive to Victoria, depending on traffic. In rush hour it can take close to an hour. It depends on your unit and the site we put you in as far as room for parking goes. If you make a reservation, just make a note that you will have a pick up you'll need to park as well.
