Hi, my name is Josephine, and I am the Property Manager here at TikiVillage in beautiful Vernon, BC. Our beautiful garden area is so relaxing and it was wonderful to see barbecues for the guest use. I have grown to love my job and I am very lucky to have met so many wonderful people from all over the world. I want to announce that I am aware that we show our age, but the rooms and linens are clean and you wont ever meet a greater team. The Tiki will be retiring soon to make way for a bigger Hotel, so we are what we are and we strive to make up for it in many other ways. Take care everyone and maybe see you all before she is gone and when she is resurrected. Thank you

As of December 2022 we will no longer be accepting cash for rentals. February 2023 the outdoor pool is permanently shut down to unforeseen circumstances.

We were at Tiki Village 54 years ago on our honeymoon. The only things that haven't changed are the photos on their website. 54 years ago, sure. Now, not even close. The bullet hole in the patio door is definitely new. This place hasn't been looked after at all. Dirty water in pool, stairs rotting etc. Damn shame.

Sorry this is how you feel. The building and everything is dated. Nothing ever looks the same after so many years.

Clean room but the motel is very tired that could use some updating. Lots of street people in the area but we encountered no problems with anyone. Hotel rates are cheaper and may be good for those on a tighter travel budget. There is a swimming pool on the property for cooling off on a hot summer day.

This was my first stay at this little gem. Yes she was definitely dated and could use some TLC but the room was clean quiet. The staff was amazing they were there checking on us made us feel like family. I think it is sweet that the staff takes the time to check on their guests. We really enjoyed our stay the pool was amazing even though the weather did a huge number on the pool. Darn fires anyways. Even 7-Eleven across the street was quiet I grew up around this neighborhood. I will definitely come back to this quaint little establishment. All the guests staying there were super friendly and patient with us even though we had a couple cranky kids.

After staying here every summer for 15 years, I have to say, it has seriously gone further downhill. I've always chosen it for the lovely pool and private courtyard, but the people running it now don't seem to have a clue what they're doing. The yard is disgusting, full of weeds, dead grass, and they let their dogs run wild and crap everywhere, not cleaning it up for days, room cleaning is non-existent (a roll of toilet paper and some towels were left on my patio chair after 2 days of being there), the ceiling in the room has had EXTENSIVE damage to it judging by all the patchwork, the shower drips lots and lots of cold water from the ceiling while showering (I'm sure it's about to blow!), there were hundreds of tiny bugs everywhere inside, old school TV with first generation Shaw cable, ice maker did not work, power went out the first day we were there so we had to succumb to the beach because we weren't allowed in the pool. The towels in the room are not even "hotel" towels. Looks like they brought them from home; all tattered and worn out. The bathroom sink wasn't even cleaned; someone else's caked on toothpaste in the sink! There is a very tacky "RULES" sign on the unit door (taped with clear DUCT TAPE!!), which says no visitors are allowed and if we do have a visitor, we have to stand out in the parking lot! SERIOUSLY??? For 15 years I have been allowed to smoke on the patio, no issues; this year I was rudely told that I'm not allowed to smoke there, that I must move to the picnic table which was literally 6 feet away. After 15 years I have yet to burn the brick building down. The "RULES" sign says to pick up after your pets! Maybe they should take heed of their rules and pick up their OWN dog crap. When phoning the Motel, good luck getting through to a person. No one EVER answers, goes right to voice mail. Even during the day, ALL the people that run the place are in the back courtyard sitting around the picnic table, socializing, all day and night. First night was lots of drinking and yelling. No one carries a phone to pick up calls, they're no longer on any booking sites to book a room which makes me wonder WHY, and it was very inconvenient for booking because no one answers the phone! Good thing they're cheap rooms because it has turned into a huge disappointment after all these years. I used to invite a few friends to join me out by the pool (I grew up in Vernon), with no complaints from Management (it was actually WELCOMED!), but now they say NO VISITORS. There are no chairs, loungers, or tables/umbrellas out by the pool anymore, and no towels or floaties, like there used to be. There are long tall weeds growing through the cracks everywhere, no upkeep anywhere, no restaurant anymore, nothing! Sad to say I will never stay at the Tiki ever again. Breaks my heart because it WAS run well (before "Lorna" was there), and they always catered to my needs and super friendly. Josephine is not too friendly and never around when you need her. There are so many people involved, it's hard to tell who actually is Management. I was told that they were booked solid, yet the only people I ever saw was Josephine, Ed, and their entourage of friends/residents. I used to see all kinds of families with kids there, outside playing, bbq'ing, playing in the pool, etc. I didn't see anyone else there besides me, as in a guest, yet the parking lot was full!!! Lots of druggies, homeless, and shady people hanging around 24/7. I think I'll find somewhere safer and cleaner, and better taken care of in my future trips to Vernon. Such a shame.

While all this is in the middle of a pandemic we were not allowed big groups or visitors. Only people ever around with management was the maintenance and housekeeping staff. We at Tiki treat everyone like family. The building is well aged and I am sorry you had a bad stay. housekeeping during Covid, no one was allowing them into their rooms and if memory serves me correct, you always had a DND on your door when housekeeping was in. We as of 2019 have not allowed smoking on front or back patios for the health and safety concerns of staff and guests with allergies to smoke. Its common courtesy that we have started to ask everyone to use the designated smoking areas. I am sorry that you feel this way. But being in the middle of a pandemic really ties everyone's hands up its not our rules. We all have to follow rules if not then it ruins it for everyone else. Stay safe and healthy good luck in the future.

I don’t know who thought this place was a nice place to stay all we heard in our stay was the man next door abusing his girlfriend. The police were called several times and the owner defended him there are nothing but druggies there and across the street at the convenience store. Bottom line Do not stay here

The good: the room was clean and the pool area/courtyard is very nice. The bad: The hotel is located on a very busy intersection and traffic noise is non-stop. They say they have wifi but upon check-in, I was given many caveats that it might not work. It didn't work for me which makes me wonder if there is wifi at all. The deadbolt on my door didn't work. The hotel building is rundown and there appears to be a lot of drug use in the area. I won't return.

Sorry to hear that you feel that way. We do not control how people live their life. if they aren't on hotel property than we have nothing to worry about. At that time you arrived your right our internet was horrible and didn't work. The internet has been an ongoing issue that has now been resolved. The building is old and constantly shift some deadbolts are harder to close than others.

Otherwise known as Tiki Vintage, this hotel is all about the value, and its a great place to stay for a night or two on a budget. It’s clean, rooms are large, it’s pet friendly (which is awesome), and I found the bed to quite comfortable. There is a small courtyard with grass and a heated pool that the units look into. Yes, the room decor is dated, no HD TV, no gym, it’s not the Four Seasons, but you have to understand what you getting for $100-$150 per night, and it’s great that way.

Let’s start with the bad and end with the good. This area is drug central, I came out of my room and saw someone smoking crack across the little river and the gas station across the way is where they hang out. The beds are not comfortable and the walls and ceiling are paper thin. I could hear everything from upstairs and beside us. The furniture and bathroom fixtures are all outdated. (70’s I think). We got back in the evening from an Day out and realized our room had not been cleaned or resupplied, when we asked about it....they said they forgot. The good, outside the lanai in their grassy picnic area and pool area is very well kept and nice to hang out in. I would not return to this hotel.

Let me start by saying that the lady at the front desk was super nice and friendly. The good about the motel was the bed, great mattress, clean room and we slept really good. The bad was that there were no HD channels available, the ,motel is slated for demolition in a few years so no upgrades are being done. The motel shows its age with cracked walls and paper thin walls and you can hear people next door and the plumbing in the morning. overall not a bad stay but sure is not worth $97/night. Claudio

if you value a good night sleep and a back that is not sore in the morning then this place is not for you! The beds are very lumpy and hard. Extremely uncomfortable. Pool is decent. Grounds look like they fairly well maintained. Pillows are meh alright. They allow weed to be spoke on the property and as well they allow pets. I prefer a good night sleep so I will not choose to stay here again. Rather pay more for a decent bed.
