Nestled in a picturesque setting, Sparkling Hill Resort & Spa is often praised for its tranquil atmosphere and breathtaking lake views. While the spa and its variety garner accolades, some guests have called out issues with service organization and room amenities. The rooms are celebrated for their comfort and views, though maintenance and cleanliness are occasionally criticized. Service receives mixed reviews, with some applauding the staff's attentiveness and others experiencing disappointments. The value proposition is contentious among visitors, who love the amenities but question the pricing and lack of special touches.

We were visiting Sparkling Hill since beginging @ 15 years. and gradually noticed declining in many areas. Post COVID changes are big :saunas open only the day you arrive 2pm -10pm no sauna available in the morning, no buffet breakfast .Farm restaurante limited menu , not a typical German that its expected. Its clean ,friendly good service.

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I enjoyed the November, 2023 getaway package for locals for $199.00. We have been to Sparkling Hill for lunch and dinner many times over the years but this was our first overnight stay. We loved the Zen and romantic ambiance. My husband enjoyed it more than he thought he would. The free valet service and the electric charging station was a huge bonus! We had checked in online so check in was fast and efficient. We were facing east with a beautiful valley and mountain view and we had a bit of a view of Kal Lake from our second floor room. The room was stunning. Beautiful appointments, lots of crystal, full wall windows and a large tub for two. We did find the doorway entrance very dark as there was no ceiling lighting. We were disappointed that the outdoor infinity pool and indoor pool were very cool. Also, the pool area was quite sterile and uninviting. The saunas that we tried were very soothing. I would recommend that there be more signage posted outside each sauna with the information that is on the website. The information of what the benefits of the particular sauna are and the recommended amount of time to spend in each one. There is no access to a clock with the time and I heard several people saying that they should probably get out as they were feeling dizzy. The tea room that you can relax in was a lovely touch. Also, the sound proofing in the resort is excellent as we heard no noise outside our room. Room service at 10 p.m. for port and vegan/gluten free desert was divine. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. So many dishes to choose from including vegan options. The waitress brought out fruit and a pumpkin pastry while we were deciding and when she realized my husband had a gluten intolerance she brought him gluten free pastries! The service for breakfast was 5 star.

I’ve been staying here for years and notice the decline in some areas. Precovid there was a pastry and fresh fruit plate with several potteries. Now it’s 1 very small pastry each and the fruit was very dried out—looks like they had been sitting out for a very long time. Same both days. Asked for gluten free pastry which was excellent! Also inconsistent between tables. One day at breakfast the folks around us were offered digestive beverages and we weren’t. We got 4 slices of bread for dinner for 2 people, but the table of 2 next to us only got 2 slices of bread. The 3 course dinner provided lots of food and was excellent.

The last time I went to a spa hotel this fabulous I was visiting the Dead Sea. There's certainly nothing else like it in British Columbia. The hotel rooms while a little tired are extremely well designed, very clean. spacious and the views are fantastic (I stayed in a Deluxe Lake Queen Queen). Breakfast is included, al la carte (yes!). The room is huge with the same great views but still very busy, so the team work hard to handle the line. They even bring you treats once you are seated so you don't have to worry about being hungry while you wait. I didn't think I wanted cake for breakfast until I tried it! I would have liked to try this restaurant for dinner but I couldn't stop visiting Gerni's Austrian restaurant, so good! The only downside of this place is the hill you have to walk down to get to it, short but not for the faint of heart when there is ice....but that keeps it quiet so I'll take it. The cafe, could have a better selection of food but the service was outstanding and I wasn't disappointed by the cake and wine options. The spa itself is huge and on the whole a great experience if a little tired but it was just too busy to be relaxing. At least on the Monday, as the the week moved on it calmed down. It seemed odd that there was limited availability to book services online in advance but on site I got the impression there was plenty of last minute availability. It was just disappointing that the spa staff seemed so busy they didn't really have time to make you feel welcome enough to explore options. One day they booked me in for a massage and then texted me 15 minutes later to say new bookings could have a discount. I wasn't going to interrupt my zen by asking for a rebate but it did leave a bad taste. In short the included stuff works well, the optional isn't in keeping with the service level in the restaurants. One great surprise was the fitness classes and Gym. While limited in size the view just makes you want to stay and work out. The instructor was super well educated and while I didn't feel like I worked too hard, the next day I had worked everything. I couldn't find class times on the website and you're not allowed to take your phones into the spa to take a picture of the schedule...so how you are supposed to recall the session times with spa brain I don't know...but I at least I made one! So, what is the one reason I wouldn't visit again. In short, airport transportation. The hotel directs you to Elite Mile, if you read their booking policy, they can cancel your transport for any reason, you can't cancel but you must pay upfront...and the confirmation process was not that great. My flight was delayed landing but Elite accommodated me (as any good transport company would). However, on my return, my flights were canceled and I had to depart the hotel early to catch a new 7am flight. They were given a days notice but they messaged and said the flight was too early, no transport would be provided but they would refund the money....I've never heard of transport company that doesn't meet every flight, especially when it's such a small airpot but ok fine. I think, no big whoop, I'm well travelled I'm in a "luxury hotel" I just need to talk to the front desk. To my utter surprise the front desk slide a ride hale card across the desk and said you can try this company otherwise try phoning the taxi companies at least an hour before you want to go (oh so you mean at 3am) but they definitely gave me a look that said you'll be lucky to make your flight. I could not sleep, I'm a female traveling alone and this was the first time travelling the globe where I truly didn't know if I'd make my flight, of all places Kelowna was going to beat me. Sure enough the ride hale was not on route when I woke up and it took two more attempts before a car came...and the front desk could not careless that I didn't know what to do. Wouldn't a luxury hotel have said (at the vary least) oh no your flights have been cancelled and rebooked so early, that's so awful, you are going to miss breakfast can we send up a croissant and a bottle of OJ to your room so you have something to start your day off with...even if they refuse to help you with transport it would take they edge off...I think when they refused to print my receipt I hit my limit because they had printed a copy for me to sign for them. That says to me this hotel is only interested in accommodating a drive in market. I guess that's why they big up the comp parking. Oh and for the solo travellers out there, I felt comfortable at this hotel on my own but do know it attracts a lot of loved up couples.

Excellent! Except for last night at the restaurant. We didn't even finish eating when the server brought our check and forgot to bring the dessert we ordered. I didn't feel comfortable reminding her that she had forgotten our dessert at a luxury resort.

Denied accommodation due to not spending more than one night even though they will have rooms available that will sit empty. Any other week other than the one i was looking for, you can stay one night. Will not be going there, ever.

Relaxing girls' trip in a no-kids resort that included lounging in our bathrobes/slippers for most of the day -- yes, in the dining room for breakfast and even in the bar!!. We participated in yoga for $10/pp and since it was low season, had a private class. Minimal people also in the spa if you attend late afternoon onwards. Clothing option Eurohour after 9 pm too! ;) Dining room 4 course dinner was a steal for less than $50, and on-siteGerman restaurant was beautiful, great for late lunch/happy hour. Room and hotel were impeccable, exceptionally clean with high quality toiletries, Frette linens and amazing views. Breakfast and valet included in price. Staff helpful and went out of their way to help, including arranging early breakfast for our early morning flight. Only cons are that there are no RMTs, and of the poor signage/lighting during the night drive up.
