I stayed at sparkling hills for a girls weekend at the end of October. Considering the price we were paying per person, I was disappointed. I understand everything has been impacted by the pandemic, however I felt the price should have been adjusted to reflect the lack of staffing, the inability to provide daily housekeeping and reduction of services provided including the closing of the steam rooms. We booked our spa services at the recommended 6-8’weeks prior to arriving, however we were initially unable to books appts As everything was full, and finally were able to pick up appts at awkward times for services we didn’t really want. As the appts were at 7pm on Sunday night, we were not able to make it for dinner. We were advised if we required anything, to call down to the front desk, however whenever we called down, no one would pick up. The phone would ring for five minutes with anyone answering. I required a pooltowel and as no one was in the pool area, I had to go into the open supply closet and grab a towel. The pool area is showing it’s age a bit, there is some rust one some of the metal around the pools. This is picky but as a world class resort, this should be fixed. It would be nice if the sundries shop carried some necessities that one may forget as it is quite a hike into town and it would be nice to grab chips or chocolate bar in the evening when relaxing in our room. We went down to predator ridge for dinner one night, which was lovely, however when we arrived there we were told that there was a free shuttle that was available to travel between the two resorts, but that was not communicated to us at sparking hills. The “new” building which is the sparkling hil’s founders childhood home that was transported from Austria is stunning, at the time we were there the menu was limited to Bratwurst and other very heavy foods. As this is a wellness resort , it would be amazing if they had some salads and other refreshing healthier options as well as authentic Austrian cuisine. All in all, the view was beautiful but the service had left much to be desired.

I have visited Sparkling Hill 5 or 6 times over the years, and even though the saunas were closed this time, there was a new restaurant! Gerni's Farmhouse with a wonderful historical story and genuine German food. The pools were amazing, not crowded at all, the meditation and serenity rooms were divine, even the indoor spaces are inviting and relaxing. I have booked this resort for business retreats as well as personal relaxation - all top notch, high level service.

My wife and I had our first vacation at Sparkling Hills Nov 24-26. It was a nice, relaxing retreat and experience. The staff were friendly, the accommodations very clean, comfortable and the setting was top notch (beautiful scenery from the wonderful infinity pool and serenity room). We also enjoyed a couples massage with sparkling wine during the bubble bath. The only disappointments were the amenities & meals - definitely not bad, but we had expected a higher standard, given the resort's reputation & package price. Little things, possibly covid restriction-related, like no tea/coffee provided at desk or tea room, poor quality (very weak) coffee at breakfasts, no breakfast buffet and only a very meagre fruit dish provided, sauna rooms were closed, a fitness room that didn't open until 7 am. We would definitely consider returning, provided all services were offered.

A group of 6 of us women in the family went for a weekend birthday celebration with the "2-night out of the cold" special. We stayed on the second floor in 2 rooms. Autumn checked us in and also helped with check-out. She was very helpful and professional. Our friends had surprised us by calling ahead and having a bottle of sparkling wine chilling in the room for us, and a staff member had filled out a birthday card for my sister, which was very sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed the infinity pool and the hot pool. Some of us relaxed in the Serenity room on the Sunday, and watched a young deer eating right below us. We also played cards in the Library room in the afternoon before dinner. We ate in the PeakFine dining room had had incredibly delicious vegan dishes. There were 3 to choose from. Two of us eat meat and said their meals were delicious as well. For the included breakfast, they have a vegan option called Mushroom Tofu "Scramble" Bowl that the plant-based of us had each day, and were delighted with. We had really tasty mulled wine and desserts in the Barrique & Java Cafe.

We've been to Sparkling Hill only twice, loved it both times. We have only experienced it during the COVID pandemic so experiences like the sauna, steam room, and some others are shut down. The rest of it is still great. We love the outdoor infinity pool, warm all year 'round. In November it's cold outside, raining or snowing, and you get to keep warm... steam coming off the surface of the water. And the pool is open until 10PM! For variation on food you can order (pick-up) from nearby Predator Ridge Range restaurant. It's about 8 minutes away and everything we had from there was excellent. Remember that if you want the complimentary breakfast (great selection, full breakfast) you need to get to the restaurant by 10AM. You can order breakfast in-room until 11AM but only eating in the restaurant makes it no charge. That's a bit odd, but it is a nice, spacious restaurant. The AC in the rooms can't seem to get it colder than 19C, though the thermostat goes as low as 18. In colder months you can just open the window at night if you like it colder. During summer months though, might be bugs as there are no screens on the window. We plan on going again; it's a wonderful place to get some downtime.

Room Tip: Stay for 3 days so you get at least 2 full days. The "2-day" stay is not enough.
