Prestige Vernon Lodge was a wonderful surprise! I had read reviews - both good and bad, but I only experienced good. I was in Vernon with family to visit a sick family member so we needed a comfortable escape after stressful visits. Prestige Vernon Lodge provided that perfectly. We stayed 3 nights. Our room was clean and very comfortable overlooking the atrium. It had a microwave & fridge though microwave wasn’t listed as included. The beds were so comfortable with plenty of fluffy pillows.
The atrium has a creek running through it! The hotel was built over the top of it. The water levels vary with the seasons. We felt the atrium was a real oasis. The food, pools, just beautiful surrounds made you feel that you were far away.
We ate in the restaurants 3 times. Twice in the Cabana inside the atrium. Oh, my gosh, the food was delicious! We had several different entrees and deserts that were all amazingly good (get the steak) and presented beautifully. Pasta is all made on-site and they served an excellent variety of local wines. The atrium atmosphere was just what we needed after a tough day. The gardens were beautiful. The lighting was enchanting. The pool was close by with the occasional happy voice or splash heard. It felt like we were in a resort, not just a hotel. Don Cherrys is a sports type bar with that sort of menu. One night we ordered there and took our meal up to our room. It was good. We used the breakfast room service for our first morning there - plentiful, good, with yummy fruit.
We enjoyed using the hot tub twice. Indoors with nice lighting, surrounded by gardens, provided towels. It was really nice.
Regarding reviews about renovations bothering people. There was some painting while we were there. It didn’t bother us at all. We liked the fact that the walls were super clean and refurbished.
I can’t say enough about how lovely all of the staff was. From the front desk, to restaurants, to housekeeping. Everyone was super friendly, helpful and cheerful. They really made our stay delightful.
I cannot recommend Prestige Vernon Lodge enough. I give it the maximum number of stars.

Pros:

Pool was open for use, which was good because the weather chased us indoors.

Forest Like feature in the atrium, there’s a running creek that goes through the hotel; which I’ve never seen before.

Rooms were clean and easy to get to, well marked out.

Cons:

The room we were in, the heat was on and we couldn’t find the air conditioning. The windows didn’t have a screen so when we had it open trying to cool off, bugs were getting in. Also the towels we had to use for swimming were more the size of dish towels and we ended you tripping a few times back to our room. We ended up bringing our own we had brought with us as the were bigger and able to dry off better in the pool area.

Overall it was a good trip and would gladly stay there again.

We often visit Vernon to see family and sometimes stay at the Vernon Lodge which is very comfortable and attractive. The inner courtyard has a lovely pool and hot tub and a natural creek runs through this courtyard. Dining facilities are also in the courtyard area and the food is always excellent and well presented.

Staying at the Prestige Vernon Lodge. Nice hotel with friendly staff. The only thing disappoint ing about this hotel is the pool. The indoor pool is filthy. You can see a sheen of oil, probably from suntan lotions and other products on top of the pool as well as bugs and pet hair floating on the surface. There were a bunch of kids the other day with their dog in the pool which would explain the pet hair. The water is very murky. They need to use a clarifier or flocculant to clean it up. We had asked the office if they were going to clean the pool as it is 40 degrees outside and they thought the pool was just fine. I would not recommend this hotel if you are wanting a hotel with a pool.

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We did have a mechanical issue with the pool filter contributing to an algae bloom back in June after which the pool was drained, cleaned and has been back up and running ever since.

We are happy with the Prestige Hotels. This year we found that the other Prestige Hotel was not able to offer us a good deal for an 8-day stay in Vernon. The Prestige Conference Centre offered the better deal this time. The housekeeping was just as good as the more expensive one. We were on the street level, and sometimes we could hear rowdy people late into the night if we opened the windows.
We have one problem though, the people in the adjacent room were smokers, and the odours sipped through the gaps of the door connecting to our room. We bought painters tape and taped the door frame to stop the smell, otherwise we couldn't sleep!

We arrived on a cold Thursday evening after travelling for many hours with our young Chocolate Lab. Not wishing to drive any further we inquired with the Front desk staff as to whether we could dine on the patio which was currently closed (due to the weather) so that we would not have to leave our dog in the room. They were unsure, asked the Chef and to our surprise, said yes. They set up a table next to a fireplace, provided water for our dog and made it a very enjoyable evening.
Kudos to all!!

Booked a room here at the last minute and were so pleasantly surprised. The location was central but quiet. Parking is plentiful. The staff were always available and so helpful. Choosing a room that overlooked the atrium was the way to go for the atmosphere (and our room wasn't extra humid because that space is so large). The pool is open with limited numbers which was amazing. We used the gym which was clean and had all working equipment. We had a room with 2 beds and we found it very clean and spacious. We will definitely recommend it, and will definitely stay there the next time we head up to Vernon.

Room Tip: It is worth it to book a room with a view of the atrium. Some even have their own balconies....

This was an amazing place to stay but there are new owners who have ruined it. The beds are now rock hard, the Arrium and breakfast places are gone but the sports bar is there if you like rubbing elbows with the town alcoholics. The internet boats way down and they try to sell you a $10/day package, that’s just greedy. I asked for a quiet room and they put me by the air conditioner farm and beside a family of 7 who’s kids ran around slamming doors all night. I know that families can stay at the hotel too but the place was empty and they could have put me away from them. I mentioned having a bad night and they guy at the checkout desk didn’t ask any questions so no apology came.

The first impression was that the lobby was tastefully updated and clean. The room was stocked with a welcome package and also local Kootenay coffee which is nice to see the hotel supporting local economy. The kids loved the atrium and the pool. It is so nice to have the pool side rooms as a family. We loved our little getaway and plan to return.

The lobby was new but the hallways and rooms not. What really grossed me out was the carpets in the hallways and my room. New carpets would make a huge difference the current ones look like they are 30 yrs old.

The hot tub holds steady at 104 degrees farenheit and the swimming pool at 84. We do typically turn them both down a degree in the summer time.

Hi there. Unfortunately we didn’t travel to various restaurants while we were there. We simply ate at the hotel restaurant which was more than fine enough for us. Bear in mind that we were a group of my motorcyclists who had low expectations. That being said the service was good and the food was good and I would eat there again.
