Very cozy little hostel with an interesting cabin feel - there is a big dorm where you can sleep with your own locker, light, etc. The kitchen is massive and lots of appliances. The Quebecois at the front desk was very approachable and friendly, the young blonde female at night...not so much. She was complaining loudly on her phone and created a negative atmosphere for guests to hear (not sure what her role is though because she could have been cleaning the microwaves instead, for example). Hopefully when you arrive there will be more guests to drown out the sounds of her negativity - I definitely recommend coming during the winter or summer when there are more than miserable locals around.
This was where I stayed in Whistler whilst looking for more permanent housing and a job. It was a great experience. Fireside's Rochelle is nothing short of fantastic, she is upbeat and helpful and so knowledgeable about all things Whistler. She goes above and beyond for guests and I felt thoroughly welcomed to Whistler. The rooms are clean and the kitchen and living spaces are large and contain everything one could need. There's even a games room (where Rochelle beat me at pool!) Thanks Fireside Lodge
very big, very clean, big tidy kitchen, nice warm powerful showers. kind guy at reception (although he got a bit strange with us when we helped ourselves to towels, but you have to ring the button to get him to come to reception and he didnt give us any on check in, so we didnt want to disturb him. but think it was the wrong thing to do) there is a shuttle stop right down the road so you can get into the village. definitely not a party vibe, its an older crowd and for families more i would say, but strong internet and we would stay there again for sure!
Easily the best value stay I've had in Canada. Its got a nice range of facilities, good layout and a generally positive atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I was blown away by the quality of this service. 5/5 is the least I could give.
This is a great budget option for Whistler. It far exceeded our expectations and so far is the best hostel we have stayed in on our long trip. The facilities are first class. The lounge and kitchen are very comfortable and well equipped and the sauna was a great touch. Everywhere is super clean and the bathrooms are very good for shared facilities. We stayed in the 16 person dorm which had sturdy (non creeky) bunks and sectioned off areas which added privacy. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a great deal for a cosy, rustic lodge in a good location.
This hostel is the biggest and best equipped hostel I have ever stayed at and I’ve stayed at my fair share of hostels all around the world! The kitchen is HUGE and has everything you could ever need, huge fridges and freezer. The lounge is very cosy and I imagine even cosier during winter with the fireplace and the snow outside. We stayed in the 18 bed dorm, all the beds feel very private as the room itself is huge and there’s plenty of lockers, outlets storage space and all that jazz. Not sure how accesible the rest of Whistler is without a car but did see a few people at the bus stops so I assume you can comfortably stay here without a car. 100% recommend!
Spent a couple nights in a private room, with shared dorm style bathrooms. Room was clean, and they gave us linens to make our own bed. Towels also provided. But no toiletries! We had to go out and buy some soap and shampoo to get us through. The kitchen though is fantastic! Lots of space and we would make breakfast and pack our hiking lunches each morning. Also good common space for chilling out and a games room. Free parking is also provided. Only complaint is when you get there you have to lug your luggage up a steep long set of stairs. They have a luggage machine to help but it was out of order. Felt very safe and secure here and would be happy to stay again, especially at the price compared to other options in the whistler area.
Our room was adequate, comfy bed, shared bath. The hostel is very well equipped with a huge kitchen & dining area, plenty of storage in multiple fridges and freezers and dry storage. Plenty of ice. Very nice lounge with PC available. A very good value in Whistler. The only problem is many stairs from the parking lot to the hostel.
It's the perfect place to stay at Whistler on a budget. Comfortable, quiet and respectful atmosphere. Great communal areas with a lot of space. Friendly and accommodating staff. Bedrooms: comfortable beds, clean, small. Kitchen: updated and fully stocked to cook anything. Full of tables and chairs. Plenty of dry and cold storage. Lounge: fireplace with a dozen leather couches. Games area: pool, foozball, pingpong. Bathrooms: huge and plenty of private showers Laundry machine available to use. Separate covered smoking area.
Nice little hotel/hostel just near Creekside in Whistler. Was there recently for a summer event and was pleasantly surprised by it. Basic but clean rooms and shared bathrooms but they were clean and well serviced. Hot showers with good pressure. One of the best self-catering kitchens I've seen with everything you need and lots of space. Nice comfortable areas to lounge and relax. Will be back.
